honestly, if you had asked your question here, a couple of people woulda responded to you by now, included people resident and schooling in Sydney. So you can see you insistence on asking me in private isn't helpful to you.

iriferi: @house how much do I have to hold in cash when travelling? Maximum cash to hold...

If I were you, I will hold like USD300 cash when leaving Nigeria and come here with my functional Firstbank or GTB Mastercard. It's cheaper that way--withdrawing with your mastercard here--than changing the USD to AUD.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Dav6: 2:57am On Oct 03, 2014
@remmy ur case is simple..with d age u stated here ur daughters can apply 4 tafe progs if u can't afford postgrad prog, der educational gaps no matter,d 1 dat did sociology nd counselling let her go for diploma in comm devt,d one dat did sciences let her do somtin on mining..kindly push dem one after d other...they can as well source for schls with tafe degree pathway with dis der migration will be much easier nd less cumbersome...madam ur case is straight forward if d resources is available to go thru..my 20cent madam...cheers

hmmmm
gtb
I had a very bad experience with them.
I used them to pay my fees via my atm card, they charged me 172naira to an aussie dollar, when the intl rate for that day was 150 to a dollar.
is it a good idea therefore to come with a gtb card?
Cos I was thinking going for some other bank, you can imagine paying 200k over the expected amount on the day I paid my fees.

equlibrium: emmm...walahi I dint interface with any of the two so I really don't know anything about either.
but I applied to queensland university of technology QUT and I can tell you it was highly rated for engineering.

Chaii, you for come QUT nah, was just around there house hunting yesterday smiley As for the ATM card of a thing, I think any debit MasterCard (visa too?) would work. I use Zenith and my card has worked well at POS. I'm yet to withdraw from an ATM but checked my balance and it worked fine, at official rate.

I understand you but I'm recommending Firstbank and GTB bank mastercard and Zenith too( BUT NOT WITH ANY HOW BANK MASTERCARD, I HAD A FRIEND THAT CAME WITH S********BANK CARD AND IT DIDNT WORK HERE) if you want to withdraw your money from Nigeria bank here because those bank's mastercard works perfectly well here. I don't have GTB acct anyway; I used Firstbank mastercard to withdraw all my money and deposited it into Commonwealth bank..and the ATM charge was just $2o3 per withdrawal.
Changing USD to AUD here doesn't make sense...I was charged arnd AUD12 for one fee like that at the airport and the exchange rate is ridiculous.

Sorry about that equilibrum. Ne-wayz for anyone else on the forum that wants to pay school fees. I advice that u instruct your account officer to bid directly from CBN for you, by using what is called FORM A. Make sure they don't use interbank rate because they will definitely try to do that if u don't insist they bid. Bidding is on Mondays and Wednesday. After u win the bid u give them the transfer instruction for the account they should credit in oz. I personally saved close to 80k instead of loosing money using this method. Pls avoid using your ATM card. Its a total rip off, as MasterCard rates and commissions are different to our rates.

If u don't quite get the process u could pm me.

Cheers everyone.

I forgot to add just on school fees alone. If u are paying plus OSHC u cud save about a 100k. Meanwhile just so am clear, you save cost because u end up buying the dollar for about 156.5 to 157 if u win the bid instead of 162 at interbank rate, 169,170 black market or at 172, the rate at which equilibrium paid. In the end u will probably end up with the exchange rate of 138 to 140 naira to aud. Make una shine eye

Hello errone, yesterday i was confused today they sent me an email apologizing and also sent me a form to take along wen I'm going for my medicals but about 20mins after the email I got a call from Pretoria asking me if I've applied to any other country before and I said no that I've not, the guy wasn't convinced and he kept asking me to be sure cause he thinks I've applied somewhere else before I assured him that I've not and then he said he was going to continue from there . I'm a little confused and scared tho. Pls has anyone experienced this before?..
