To all those who had less than the cutoffs of the department they applied to...My advise to you is,Pray and Pray and Pray...Miracles do happen!!
Just yesterday in school,i was havin a conversation with someone, and i got to know he had 65 in his pume last year and got admission to Study MBBS when the cutoff was 70...He didnt know anyone in UI,but he really prayed about it and God helped him...And also,i knw of many people who had more 67,68,66 and they were not admitted for MBBS,rather they were given other courses!!!

Fact-God can still do a miracle!!Pray and Pray!!!

Gracias.....Miracles can happen

If I cld remember vividly, u were one of those kiddos that refuted what I said abt Catchment/ELDS bn used in all federal universities!

Well, I'm glad u brought dis up! Like I said from the outset, UI is a federal university and must follow the stipulations laid down by federal govt! UI has all states as its catchment, and so, they chose just 1 candidates from each state(making it 36 candidates with scores closest to their cut-off). U mite be wondering, if three or more candidates frm a particular state scored 79 for mbbs, hw wld they decide who to choose. Well it's simple, they'l consider their jamb score and check who scored highest.
Mbbs cut-off was 80 for merit list. I'm 5000% sure dat not all d candidates on dat merit list scored 80! Some scored 79!

Nw back to ur friend who scored 65 and made the list while those who scored 66, 67, and 68 didn't. UI can't be dat stup*d u knw! Why wld UI pick 65 over 66, 67, 68 jst like dat?! That was Catchment/ELDS in effect!

I'l say dis again like I said b4, those with 79 in p.utme, and with a good utme score shld hold their ground or shld have held their ground! It's a risk worth taking for MBBS! The worst is dat UI wld place every candidate who scored 1 or 2 marks below their cut-off into vacant courses automatically! Dat I'm also 5000% sure of!! smiley

GUY U TALK TRUE.AS IN QUITE CRITICAL AND OBJECTIVE POINT OF VIEW!
A QUESTION I HAD HAD WAS HOW COULD WE HAVE 100 CANDIDATES GEREGE BETWEEN 80 TO 90 RANGE?MOST LIKELY, THEY CUD HAVE CONSIDER 79 WITH HIGH(EST) JAMB SCORE.
BUT THEN IF BY REALISTIC CALCULATION OR MIRACLE,THOUGH MOSTLY BY THE LATER,IWOULD HAVE MY ADMISSION BY GOD.
BTW GUY ANS MY QUEST ON BBM!

Hello friends,
Pls i'm sorry 4 not coming online regularly these days, its because my iphone
had a problem and my ipad battery is dead, my sister is with my Samsung
galaxy note-3. Am just alone here @ home since my parents traveled to
Germany. I would have skyped with you but I misplaced my apple laptop
power- pack so I have to hit S.A later this week to get a new one. I wanted
visiting the mall tonight but my Aunt went out with my Bugatti, and my elder
brother is out with the Range Rover, the Toyota Highlander had a little problem,
the tyre of the Honda CRV is flat and I hate driving the Lexus jeep @ night. I
tried calling the driver to come pick me with mum's Ferrari but no credit... Can
you please send me MTN credit of #200... so I can call him, thanks

Desperate deals with 'NEED', while Over-ambitious deals with 'WANT'.

U can only be in desperate NEED of something, meaning u'll go any length to get it cos u cnt do without it. For example, a poor mother dat brings her child for emergency treatment in a private hospital and has to deposit an instalment b4 d child is checked in, wld desperately run around and do whatever it takes to see to it dat she get's d money cos d life of d child depends on her success at gettin d money.

Nw, Ambition or Over-ambition talks about what someone WANTS in life, or from something. If he didn't get it, it wldnt really take away anything from him. For example, Buhari is so over-ambitious of becoming president in nigeria, but den, he has tried 3times and lost out, yet he's still faring well, and gunning for d 4th time.
So u see, in ur context, desperation is worse dan over over-ambition! smiley

Marc9, but I got two friends with;

Dat's becos there was anoda candidate from Osun state who scored 69 in post jamb, and scored higher in Jamb/utme dan ur former friend did. So ur former friend missed out on d catchment seletion, but was surely offered anoda course(automatically I guess). For ur latter friend, wat do u expect?! Some1 frm Oyo must hv scored 69 or 68 or 67(with jamb/utme score greater dan 214). He was even lucky they gave him chemistry, nt 'babalawo and wizardry'.

For dis forthcoming 2nd batch, d number of admitted candidates for mbbs is 100, and there's room for 20 or more, say like 50 more spaces, they wld set anoda cut-off for d 2nd batch(tho they wldnt disclose d cut-off). Dat was y I said any candidate with 79 post-utme and a utme score of 240above shld stand his ground and hope he turns out to be among the 20 to 50 candidates dat wld be chosen for 2nd batch! Bt for those who lost their ground cos they desperately wanted to just gain admission and leave home, and did C.O.C, UI wld discreetly offer dem deir C.O.C, in order to decongest candidates awaiting 2nd batch for mbbs. At d end, d determined candidates, say like 80 of dem, wld still stand chances of bn chosen for the 20 to 50 spaces left. The determined candidates dat wldnt make d 2nd batch for mbbs, UI wld be obliged to offer dem vacant courses, like chemistry, jst like they did to 'frankie da tony's latter friend who scored 67'. They have nothing to lose, so long their p.utme scores are very close to the initial cut-off. smiley
