date1816: I realise that this is off topic, but cable costs in Nigeria are high for these reasons 1.Most mobile phone companies do not rely on the mains power supply. So, they have to source money to buy generators for their cell towers.(There is an MTN tower not far from a relative's house...and MTN routinely comes to top it up with fuel). Guess where the money comes from... 2.Vandalism of telecom facilities is quite common in Nigeria. The same MTN tower i mentioned just now, for instance, has had the generator stolen several times. Hence ....the costs go up. 3.The backbone of our GSM network was built from scratch. Because thanks to NITEL(remember them?)'s decades of inefficeint management....Nigeria never had a good enough fiber optic network. So MTN and company had to build one from scratch. Without government providing a kobo. Guess who is paying for the thing..... 4.And furthermore...the cable network must be expanded...so that it can serve a population of 170 million people(far more than Sudan). Guess what...it costs more to build a house for a family of twelve than it would for a family of five. That is why GSM charges are higher in Nigeria....but as you say...it does not mean it is right. Perhaps as more players come in...prices will continue to fall(They did fall drastically once) 2 Likes |

I wonder where a Corporal in the Nigerian Police could get money to own a club house in Abuja. Where did he get the money from? A Corpral's salary is not more than 50k a month. That said, every bricklayer, building materials dealer are all builders that is why houses are collapsing coupled with fake materials as well as mixing more sand with cement. Anyway RIP to the dead. |

Please, I would like to know about this building that collapsed in Abuja in detail. Did any strange plane fly by before it collapsed (like the Synagogue)? 3 Likes 1 Share |

Wow... Converting a Bungalow to a Storey building. As an architect, its possible to accomplish this, but it requires come certain structural measures to be in place. Boycotting these structural components would definately leed to a collapse. People just tend to wanna take shor-cuts most times, not knowing that peopls lives are at stake. |

mikeapollo: TB Joshua denied that report about having approval for 12 story building. Go to TB Joshua ministries official facebook page of Sept 30th. ............................ Our attention has been drawn to several articles circulating around the internet quoting Mr. Ken Emeakayi as an official representative of T.B. Joshua, The SCOAN and Emmanuel TV. The Vanguard Newspaper even called him ‘T.B. Joshua’s aide’ which is a misrepresentation. While Mr Ken is a member of The SCOAN and an Emmanuel TV partner, he went to the media on his own personal level to air his views concerning the incident and not to officially represent the church. Any official statement from The SCOAN will be published on our website and our official Facebook Page. |

If we can't enforce building codes right there in the presidents backyard in Abuja, God knows what other builders are doing in other parts of the country. 2 Likes |

When TBJ said a stranger object flew over his church, many called for his head now the stranger object has moved to Abuja. According to TBJ, usually the object will fly over the building three times and then pour chemical substance on the building leading to the eventual collapse. |

fatdon2:Can you just listen to yourself TB Joshua's house is not the first or last to collapse in Nigeria especially in Lagos. But the wide spread criticism he got stems from the fact that: 1. His church members (though he claimed they are not his members but community pple) prevented rescue workers from helpin out and went as far as man handling them especially the journalists. 3. The infamous audio tape from a journalist, Mr. Ibekwe, about TB bribing some journalists. 4. The most important of them all. SCOAN's claim that a jet that flew over their building (that didn't throw bomb or pour any chemical on their building) caused the collapse. Mehn!!! That's ridiculous. How can u tell me that the sound of an aircraft (even if it is ten aircrafts) caused the collapse. I av watched that CCTV film time and over again buh am yet to see anythin that connects that aircraft with the collapse of the building. Building collapse happens in Nigeria 2 Likes |

fatdon2: Abi ooo, no body will talk about the owner of this building. He is not healing anybody or casting out demons, so he is safe. In fact as a club owner he is doing just the opposite of T.B Joshua so he I'd their own. The devil won't come down, he uses regular people. Just like the ones asking for the head of T.B Joshua |

Looking for evidence of a failed nation? look no far.Hopefully everybody will make it out alive .At least the owner didn't block rescuers from doing rescue job, like false prophet t.b joshua did. I'm still waiting for all these MOF= men of gold, going to Liberia/Serria-leone to help healed those infected with ebola.Anybody can say anything, if Jesus were to be on this earth,he would have gone to those places and heal them free of charge, unlike all these charlatans making fortune out of the gullible. 2 Likes |
