I read the piece. In summary the write up is about a journalist who works for premium times. He decided to volunteer to be an anti ebola soldier in Lagos. After series of filling forms and going to ebola prevention clinic to work as a volunteer, he was never called to work for no reason. The big question is why.

Note each volunteer is to be paid 30k naira per day plus insurance in case of any problem.

Corruption everywhere! I can imagine the number of imaginary volunteers they registered; this guy's name may even be there on paper as a paid 'volunteer' cheesy.

It was just grace that saw us through the ebola saga. I pray we continue to enjoy that grace.

Ha ha. I trust our naija ogas ontop. Believe you me, they have collected salary for 1 million ghost volunteers already and will be planning on how to cash the life insurance of 2 million more. They do not need physical volunteers cos it will mean reduced egunje.

Why are most people saying summarize

Is it laziness to read or just plain disinterest.

I found it delightfully interesting even though the circumstances that led to the write up was quite unfortunate. But still, I enjoyed reading it particularly because I was visualizing the whole write up in my head scene by scene.

Anyways, I think it's rather unfortunate to think that corruption has sipped into every system in this country, the health system inclusive, because if not for monetary reasons I see no reason why the writer and possibly other volunteers were not contacted... Maybe there was one top brass somewhere that was seating on the money the FG/Foreign aid made available to volunteer anti-ebola personnel or maybe the writer's network was bad during the whole time and that's why he didn't get their calls or emails.. (I find this to be highly unlikely)

Whichever the case, We can not be too thankful to God enough that the scourge of Ebola is a thing of the past

God bless Nigeria.

I think you mean you love reading things you find interesting... If you (truly) love reading you won't be selective.. Besides I found it very interesting maybe because I have a very animated imagination.. So maybe that's why it was somewhat easy for me to read.

Lol. It seems as if I know Nigeria more than this journalist. I also filled the form online, immediately I saw, thank you for registering for the ebola blah blah, I just laughed it off, cos if the plea on tv and radio was anything to go by, I thought they would bring a car to my house to pick me up immediately. 9ja government dribble pass Maradona.

After reading the story, my first thought was the Nigerian factor was at play here. But then I thought again: "this na ebola matter. I doubt if man-know-man will be involved in this one". So, the ogas at the top most likely signed on 50 volunteers and collected money for 200 volunteers. Sick country.

And the journalist too should be sincere; if not for the financial incentive, would he still be eagerly waiting for a call since July??

I don't think so.
