Adieu APGA and the Igbos politically. No hope of fielding an Igbo presidential candidate in the nearest future. Instead of building and growing APGA, those managing the party thinks PDP is where their hope lies. I think the Yorubas have political maturity and sagacity than the Igbos.
Is it all about fielding a presidential candidate or winning a presidential election?do u honestly think that APGA can win the presidency?even the defunt AD in the southwest cud not do so,thas why ACN decided to go maintream by margin with AP,APGA will remain a spectator in national politics, the best they can do is to remain relevant in the southeast, but with a dubious an dictator chairman like VICTOR UMEH,APGA will not last the next election.am not a fan of any political party, infact am looking foward to when we wd have "independent candidates",so we can elect pple base on personal antecedents anc not on political inclination. cool

Is a shame how we think in this country.does it matter were the president comes from? I think what matters is good leadership.

Shame on Peter Obi. So now, let no hypocrite judge Rochas. For me, Obi venturing into PDP is for selfish reasons. I saw the handwriting on the wall, the moment Obi made politics out of the Igbo deportation saga. He also messed up big time, by wiping up ethnic sentiments in the last Anambra Governorship election - and NdiAnambra sheepishly supported him in his show of shame, an attitude similar to our Yoruba brothers - thinking his motive was geared toward a new pan-Igbo (APGA) nationalism. Ikemba Ojukwu's spirit will forever hunt him for destroying his last political legacy. Ohaneze Is compromised, S/E governor's forum likewise, now Peter Obi, where now lies the Igbos rallying point of call. Indeed, GEJ from henceforth will start seeing Ndigbo as politically naïve and fallow. Bet it, come 2019 Jonathan will never hand over to an Igboman as been speculated by some ass-lickers. Whether we like it or not if APC accidentally wins next Presidential election, then Ndigbo should count themselves politically finished. Unless maybe Rochas is picked for either a Presidential or Vice-Presidential slot. Maybe then, the rejected stone might suddenly become a chief rallying point of Igbo interest - just like Ekwueme during the 2nd republic.
APC canot win presidential election without fielding southeasterner for either presidential or vice presidentisl tickets..that will be their greatest undoing

PDP probably already have a presidential aspirant and is strong in all the regions of this Country and TAN is doing a good job of more than canceling out lai Mohammed and el-rufai press conferences and tweets respectively. APC, on the other hand, does not have a candidate and is almost non existent in the south-south and south-east regions. Is this how the APC planned to win the general elections come January. I smell a walk over in favour of the PDP. Nigerians will simply not vote for a party the don't know, no how good that party is.

How far has Ur so-called political sagacity taken U in the current political dispensation. At the rate U people are going, the Yoruba nation will remain in political wilderness wandering aimlessly till further notice. The truth is that Igbos are consolidating their stronghold at the center under the current political dispensation. On the other hand, the Yoruba leadership is fast losing grip at the center. They are becoming more irrelevant by the day.

If U think that Ur Northern overlords can ever snatch power from Jonathan and then make U a partner in the relationship... Then U're definitely on a very long thing. Firstly, neither Buhari or Atiku or Kwankwaso is a match for GEJ and will loose by a landslide margin. Secondly the relationship between the Yoruba political leadership and their northern slave drivers will always remain a Master/Slave arrangement. U stand to gain nothing.

Finally, it is evident that the Yoruba political leadership is about to plunge itself into political mass suicide. The situation is grim and desperate. Keen observers are already preparing to sing the Nunc Dimitis for the much acclaimed but less productive Yoruba Political Sagacity.

Now tell me which party U can find well performing Govnors in Nigeria the likes of Fashola, Rochas Oshomole Aregbesola Amaechi this people have come together to defend Nigeria from evil act. And move Nigeria forward . They said 90 % of Nigerians are not thinking and it is true

This is the kind of delegation and courtesy visit common in the good old days of Nigerian politics. Quite reminiscent of the days of Zik, Okpara, Odumegwu Ojukwu and Ekwueme. And this is the first time any modern new politician in Igboland would enjoy this privilege of national importance. It is also not common in other regions where the politician have equally lost respect. It would rightly be called a national endorsement and Abuja's passing of the baton from Ekwueme to Chief Peter Obi as the new face of Igbo politics. Ndigbo have endorsed him after his tenure as governor and now Abuja and the other regional leaders have followed suit. Good for Obi!

Not the undignified switching of political camps that is rampant today.

Most comments here shows not many people read the whole piece..or Some may have construed diffrent
meaning to the piece.
My understanding from this scenario is that obi have not left apga to join pdp..its not that an easy decision.. As in, to declar for pdp right on the spot..its synonymous to a father disowning his son for no just reason..obi got some reputation .
don't take this press garbage hook line and sinker.
Re: Peter Obi Finally Joins PDP by swezenberg(m): 12:52am On Oct 08, 2014
Guys I'm looking at this permutation. What if APC fields a northerner as President and Easterner as VP as against South South Jonathan and a northern VP for PDP.

This is very possible. If Jonathan leaves it will be difficult for him to return power to the South within the PDP. The northerners in PDP will want power to return to the North. What will now be the chances of the Easterner in PDP. Except Jonathan steps down for an Easterner now.

Can Jonathan step down for an Easterner and support the person

Ngwakwe:
Brood of Vipers that have sold their souls and that of kinsmen to the Devil.

I am sure they travelled by Air as I can't see the justification for asking Peter Obi to join a team who has no sympathy for their people aside their pockets after experience the agony South Easterners go through on daily basis.

All federal roads in South East are death traps as we speak especially in Abia State and these zombies are here canvassing for membership to a cult group instead of seeking for solution to the Region's under-development.

Shame on all of you.

Shebi you guys say Jonathan favoured the igbos only so where is this your news coming from...

Further Obi said "the issue of joining a national party is not about happening in APGA,but about being a competitor in the national level "

If Peter Obi publicly declares his defection to PDP, then it is only a matter of time before Anambra state goes to PDP.
APGA just can not survivie without Obi. Forget about Umeh.
We shouldn't deceive ourselves jare ... APGA/LP has everly been a branch of PDP and that is exactly what PDP will turn APC into ..... PDP has their way of making another independent party their stooge !!
Peter Obi has always lead a branch of PDP called APGA and it is normal for him to be called into Mother Party in recognition of his role and loyalty !!

Tinubu+buhari+atiku=disaster. In the absence of clear focus, vision and national pride in the so called opposition party (APC), what you would get is a monopoly of power at the central. APC (tinubu's ideology)should have reached out to the likes of obi in order to bolster its cadre and give the party a national outlook rather than a semi regional party. PDP's strongest point is its ability to pull in political power brokers from all regions of the country. APC presidential candidates are either former PDP members who fell out with the party or candiitate with a long resume filled with past failed presidential ambition.

See joke! President of where? That guy that talks like a woman as president of Nigeria? Lol. Better wait for biafra to be actualised before u start fantasizing about a peter obi presidency.
So because Peter Obi talks like a woman, that disqualifies him from becoming president of Nigeria? In other words, a woman is not qualified to be president of Nigeria? Again, in other words, better Biafra be actualized than have a woman as president of Nigeria? Fiend, you have the mindset of a Taliban commander, an Islamic extremist. You are fit for membership of Nigeria's main opposition party.

Look at them. PDP looters convention coming to plead with Peter Obi to join them. I read the article and nowhere does it say that Peter Obi has formally joined PDP. Peter Obi is one of the few Nigerian politicians who left office with his integrity still intact. Why would he throw away that good name over a party that is bereft of any ideals? I think that it would be a disastrous mistake for Peter Obi to join PDP because this would reduce him to the status of a 'Job seeker'
