It was another wonderful Sunday in the presence of God. The preaching, praise and worship segments were fantastic. Everyone was in high spirit. As usual, it got to the discussion (questions & answers) segment and an elderly lady asked a question that drew a hotted debate amongst the audience. Earlier, the pastor had preached about christians not associating with those who drink or sell alcoholic drinks. According to him, it was against biblical standards to engage in such practice and as such, christians should stay away from such people to avoid being drawn into sin. Thus when the pastor asked for questions from the audience, this lady stood up, adjusted her wrapper, focused her fading gaze on the pastor and put forth her question saying 'Pastor, you have taught us earlier on to not associate with those who drink or sell alcohol. However, if my child happens to have a shop where she sell many things including alcoholic drink, and I visit her and she offers me a bottle of soft drink (coke or malt), knowing that she also sells alcoholic drinks, if I accept this soft drink from her have I committed sin or is it wrong?' The first thought that came to my mind when I heard the question was how difficult it would be to find a good and true answer to this elderly lady's question and the similarly complicated questions that must have been thrown at Jesus when he was in the world teaching. I was immediately on high aleart. Sunday service just more interesting. I quickly took out my pen and paper, ready to note how this lady's tricky question would be answered. To Be Continued. If it was you how would you answer her question? https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=939284819419769&id=100000147793169&refid=17&_ft_&__tn__=%2As |

Will the Church accept donations from someone who drinks alcohol or sells alcohol for a living? 1 Like |

sonmvayina: lol. Did you read my comment very well? I never said that alcohol (if taken in moderation) is a sin. I can even send you a crate of Star (whatever your brand is) if you desire... |

sonmvayina:And you believe such supernatural claims simply because the Holy Bible the Europeans imperials used in brainwashing your forefathers said so, right? Just so you know, since your profile picture has you with a stethoscope on, indicating that you are a doctor, therefore can you please scientifically explain how could a figure called Jesus Christ, whose historicity and true identity still continue to arouse criticism and debates among theologians, archaeologists and historians could have managed to covert H20 into wine and finally into blood, bearing in mind that even the alchemists whose era came centuries after that of Jesus Christ, failed to turn base metal to gold using alchemy despite their advanced knowledge of chemicals during their time 1 Like |
