Question and not answer creates knowledge. Now, you guys are reasoning---thumbs up!

In addition to your question, Why is it that Pharmacy is not included in the COC courses when those who couldn't meet the cut-off have been asked to get COC?

Will there be second list for Pharmacy Department? If yes, who are those that will be there when they've been asked to get COC?

If those that get COC are still going to be among those that will be admitted to Pharmacy, is it rational or logical enough? Can't there be another criteria for getting COC?

This shld be my last quote on dis matter.

Well, I'm glad u did ur findings on last year admission. From last year, u can tell that pharmacy has a quota of 100(- or +), and I quoted on previous threads that the quotas of some courses were under-utilised, and thoses courses didn't appear on C.O.C, meaning the depts wld surely admit candidates to fill up the spaces in 2nd batch. This was wat I reasoned out.......

Let's say 32 spaces are left, and we have over 400 candidates who scored above 50% and didn't make d merit list. If 100 of the candidates applied for C.O.C, and 300 didn't apply, UI can't deny those who scored 69 for pharmacy(70) and did C.O.C the right of having the course they initially applied for. Likewise, UI wldnt assume those who didn't do C.O.C were nt interested in the admission. The rules that applied in merit list wld be the same rule applied in 2nd batch. The cut-off for pharmacy wld be reduced to I guess (69), but the cut-off wldnt be disclosed publicly. If out of the 400, 50 scored 69(inclusive of candiadates who did C.O.C and those who didn't), discretion wld be applied, like d use UTME score criteria to choose 40% on merit(40% of 32 is 13), den out of the same 50 who scored 69, 40% wld be chosen under catchmnt/ELDS(40% of 32 is also 13, but since there are 36-state catchmnt, UI wld pick 13 best candidates, nt 36, under the catchmnt), den 20% ELD(i.e 20% of 32 is 6. Same style used in catchmnt wld apply as well)

So at the end, 13+13+6=32 for 2nd list! This is wat UI meant by transparent, merit based, fairness, no magomago, no staff pikin bias, and no illicit admission processing!

That is yet another candid take of mine! Subject to refute and correction with cogent analysis! Am done on this matter! smiley
SAME THING WE DEY TALK B4 NOW!
DAT those who opt for C.O.C wud b considered for their initial course
BUT D BUT B SAY WAT IF UI CONSIDER THOSE WHO DIDNT OPT FOR C.O.C AS NOT AVAILABLE(PERHAPS HAVE FIND THEIR WAY ELSEWHR)?(TOO RISKY!)
But one can never tell!
ANI MAKE E FAVOUR US BY GOD!

Irony of life. Some wld say they don't want to stay a year longer at home and wld opt/settle for integrated science, only to eida have their 4yrs course extended to 5 or 6yrs due to strike or personal poor performance. The integrated science likely cld get delayed in NYSC posting just like it's common in most schools. While this is happening, the MBBS fella that risked waiting on MBBS and didn't get it, bt tried again and finally got it, wld likely catch up with the integrated student dat graduated a year ahead.

So u see, in life, it's nt about how far, but how well. Everyone has a dream, and it's unfair to let go that dream out of desperation!

lol u mak me laugh,so u mean derz notin as staff pikin for 2nd batch(supplementary list)? Has any1 tot of dis, dat y did dey not choose d maximum numba of quota of each deptment on d merit list? E.g d pharmacy. Dey chose 68 ryt? Instead of abt 100. And dey made d cutoff 70%. Y dint dey jst made d cutoff lyk 68 or 69,wit jst d method u're tlkn abt? So dat it wil make up d 100quota @once....and giv C.O.C to fill up only less-apply-for' courses? Why dat? Well, d basic reason is d staff-pikin ish(doe itz nt bn bias coz u must av d requirements) av bn tlkn abt....wel, merit list is on merit,no magomago. I meet d cutoff and i get admited,i dnt meet d cutoff, den admision is @stake.(jst lyk scorin 199 in jamb wyl cutoff is 200) wel,i wunt tlk abt it in public. But i knw and am sure of wot am sayn. @least wif d 12yrz i had spent so far schln witin U.I. I knw d wot dat is. Lyk i sed 2nd batch/supplementary list dependz on Luck&God. Dats it. I wud av snapd d internal-memo and uploaded it,but i wunt.....i gues dis wot evrioda organisatn does(&oda schlz as wel) well, mayb we wil argue more on dis wen d list iz out.

nw u get wot av bn sayn. D criteria,i.e d ppl dat wil first fill up d space is U.I -list. Den if it happenz derz space left, den an outsider dat gets it is vry lucky. Coz derz an internal C.O.C dat dey did,wic did nt evn need doin d online one @all,dats it!

Your analysis is flawed. Are they not in the same Nigeria?

As the Integrated Science guy is enjoying strike, the MB;BS jambite will still be at home waiting for his time to reach.

Finally, how does studying MB;BS, determine how well?

Yes. In 5years time after studying Integrated Science, I'll explore outside many field because I won't be depending on a sector only.

The Mbbs guy that will still be waiting for one quack hospital to employ him because he studied the almighty-course.

Do you know that some people will try Mbbs first time and be given Microbiology but they reject it.
Second time, Biochemistry and they reject it too.
Third time Medicine, now 100lvl, 200lvl, 300lvl and they can't stand the heat any longer but would be pushed to that Biochemistry. You think MB;BS is all about Medicine without Surgery.

We all know that UI admits 120MBBS.
Have you asked yourself how many will graduate and how many would get a job on a platter of gold?

You think studying Mbbs guarantees you a lucrative job freely. Though it does, but some are not appealing as the course is rated. undecided
