Letter To Hip Hop From Iyme Rhymes by riskanalyst: 9:44am On Oct 06, 2014 |
I saw this in a group on facebook and I was amazed that a nigerian can be this creative. I don't know him but I love this wirte up. Dear hip hop I still dream about you The nights are so long and cold without you I've searched for you in the east, west the north and south too I'm sad cos I knew this is the shit you would amount to Now as the tears roll out my eyes I sit on my own in grief as I morn your demise I see it all cos the truth is in no disguise You are long dead and I don't know if you will ever rise You told me that life ain't straight, its like a crane hook Now on my face remains this very pale look When I see kids disgracing you on facebook At times the shit they drop can even make a snake puke And as I'm downing this glass of white wine I think to myself... "What if you have nine lives" What if you came back to the world in a black spine What if a nigga did you proud in this dark times What if that nigga's name happens to be IYME RHYMES And when I look at the mirror all I see is your reflection Maybe IYME RHYMES is actually your reincarnation Maybe IYME RHYMES is hip hop's new definition Now the world should await your retribution I morned your death now I celebrate your resurrection Yours faithfully Iyme Iyke Emmanuel Rhymes |

Re: Letter To Hip Hop From Iyme Rhymes by GIYAZZ(m): 7:24am On Oct 07, 2014 |
ELYMAXiimus:He is a Poet and a Rapper. Just like Nas is. |
Re: Letter To Hip Hop From Iyme Rhymes by ELYMAXiimus(m): 7:46am On Oct 07, 2014 |
GIYAZZ:lol.. Nas is a poet? |
Re: Letter To Hip Hop From Iyme Rhymes by GIYAZZ(m): 7:52am On Oct 07, 2014 |
ELYMAXiimus:Are you a Novice? Don't you know some certain rappers are referred as Poets?? E.g Rakim 2pac Biggie Smalls Big Pun Big L Eminem K.dot Twista Boogey Mode9 Joel Ortiz G'IYAZ Chino XL Hopsin Killah Priest Jay Z Etc! |
Re: Letter To Hip Hop From Iyme Rhymes by ELYMAXiimus(m): 8:05am On Oct 07, 2014 |
GIYAZZ:lmao..... Na it's a different ball game, bro.... Every rapper is like the advanced version of a poet.... As in x20 of a poet's quality... Poets rhyme only one syllable... Have you ever seen eminem doing that? i get you, you're trynna say every rapper that tells a story when rapping is also a poet. Naaah... |
Re: Letter To Hip Hop From Iyme Rhymes by GIYAZZ(m): 8:22am On Oct 07, 2014 |
ELYMAXiimus:Elymax! Is this you?? Are you really the one talking like you don't know what Rap is again?? Oya see this: Talib Kweli Breathin in deep city breaths, sittin on shitty steps We stoop to new lows, hell froze the night the city slept The beast crept through concrete jungles Communicatin with one another And ghetto birds where waters fall From the hydrants to the gutters The beast walk the beats, but the beats we be makin You on the wrong side of the track, lookin visibly shaken Taken them plungers, plungin to death that's painted by the numbers With Krylon applied pressure cats is playin God By havin children by a lesser baby mother but Bleep it We played against each other like puppets, swearin you got pull When the only pull you got is the wool over your eyes Gettin knowledge in jail like a blessing in disguise Look in the skies for God, what you see besides the smog Is broken dreams flying away on the wings of the obscene Thoughts that people put in the air Places where you could get murdered over a glare But everything is fair It's a paradox we call reality So keepin it real will make you casualty of abnormal normality Killers Born Naturally like, Mickey and Mallory Not knowing the ways'll get you capped like an NBA salary Some cats be emceeing to illustrate what we be seeing Hard to be a spiritual being when shit is shakin what you believe in For trees to grow in Brooklyn, seeds need to be planted I'm asking if y'all feel me and the crowd left me stranded My blood pressure boiled and rose, cause New York niggas Actin spoiled at shows, to the winners the spoils go I take the L, transfer to the 2, head to the gates New York life type trife the Roman Empire state Common Black church services, murderers, Arabs serving burgers As cats with gold permanents, move they bags as herbalists The dirt isn’t just fertile, it’s people working and earning this The curb getters go where the cash flow and the current is It’s so hot that niggas burn to live The furnace is, where the money moving, the determined live We talk shit, play lotto, and buy German beers It’s so black packed with action that’s affirmative Please what do you call this? Didn't you see a diff between normal Rap and this? Rap Poets are Rappers who rap deep lyrics from the conscious. They are not just Rappers or Poets, they are Deep! You musn't rhyme one syllable to make it Poetry, it depends on the Poet's abilities. |

GIYAZZ:i get what you're trynna say.... But me personally don't like referring to rappers like that as poets.... Let poets be poets! Nd rappers be rappers! I like eminem the most. But i will never call him a poet(despite the fact that he has a wonderful story-telling ability)... Nd i doubt he also calls himself a rappoet or something.... To be sincere, i don't like poems. It bores me.. *Yawnss*! |
