According to the INEC time table for 2015 elections, party primaries begin from 2nd October, 2014, soon rather than later. Political gladiators of different hue, from the serious to the ridiculous will converge in Akwa Ibom State as a result of the unbelievable transformation in that state. It is understandable why former friends, associates and subordinates are heating up the land of promise, especially on the zoning policy of the ruling party as domesticated in the state. Although zoning is not expressly written in the 1999 constitution as amended, the closest item to it is federal character.

According to the Constitution, the only vehicle to any elective position in Nigeria is through a political party, but PDP inserted the zoning clause in their constitution to take care of the different centrifugal forces, injustice, inequality, etc. Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups and different languages and zoning arrangement was the glue that gave hope to the various tribes, regions and enclaves.

akwa ibom is a place to be,i enjoyed my stayed in uyo,eket,ikot ekpene{knw as i.k town},and oron.
Op the oron re unda eket zone,and their language is dif frm ibibio..some dont see themsef ibibio/akwa ibom..
so wil they gv them d chance to be d state governor if that wil mak them feel d sense of belonging?
Anyway that s left 4 d akwa ibomite but pls let d govt take care of the akwa ibom iboe o/anang 4 us.
