One of the most fallacious statements of all time.
It's has no scientific or business validation .
Why do you think companies spend billions eliminating rivals?
It is to make their 'candles shine even brighter'.

Wrong.

You become the only light in the room, doesn't necessarily make you any brighter. A more competitive market makes for better products, stronger companies and more robust industries.

Hy Onegai. At least there are still LADIES here who go abt issues logically about issues. *exhales in relief* I've been a victim of book piracy in my 200L and lost a huge sum to it. I thank God for u. There's no room for sentiments here. U cannot live off the work of others.

That said, this story brings several things to the front burner.
1. Linda Ikeji is not educated.
NB. There's a difference btw schooling and education. One might be a graduate and not educated.
Every educated person knows they shd pay an annual token to have a dedicated domain name and a host.

2. She has a terrible/uneducated circle of friends, advisers and followers.
I've NEVER, EVER been to her blog cos I blv she's overrated and sells with sex appeal [Hence I did not even know it ends with '.com'.
If number 2 is not so, how come no one, I mean none of them advised/told her via email or whatever medium to upgrade to a premium service?

3. She is opinionated.
Assuming those mentioned in number 2 advised/told her[ they probably did] she refused to heed good counsel and advice

4. She likes free
This type of woman/girl ,tho making millions, will not give/invest in her boyfriend/husband/family [Google in this case]. Cos she believes its the man's responsibility to UNCONDITIONALLY keep providing everything[domain name and host in this instance] for free. While she just eats, shops and saves her millions

5. She does not like to pay professionals.
She works with dilettantes and amateurs who know no better than she. Cos if she had professionals on her team, the domain name issue would have been one of the first thing to be taken care of, if not the first.
Does she even had legal advisers? They would have told her all this. I can bet she does not.

Her saving grace is that she's in Nigeria and the clamp down on plagiarism and copyright breach is lax, if not non-existent.
If she was abroad, she would have been facing fines running into millions of dollars that 10 Range Rovers cannot pay.
This list could go on and on.
NIGERIAN CAN BE SO SENTIMENTAL. FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, STOP THIS WHOLE ENEMIES, ENEMIES, ENEMIES THING.
Little wonder songs and churches talking about enemies and being witch-hunted sell a lot in Nigeria.
She's a victim of her own IGNORANCE, GREED, SELFISHNESS, HARD HARDHEADEDNESS AND MANY MORE

did u miss d part she said most of d domain is already registered... .com .net.....all registered.

You can always acquire domains, it's part of doing online business. All she needed do is buy back the domain from whoever registered it. I do preregister domains as well and sell to the highest bidder. If she don't know all this then, I'm sorry she's just a novice about the internet.

I really don't think Linda is going to be back Anytime soon.. Every Smart Blogger would try as much as possible to buy a domain name before this happens to his/her blog and announce it to her followers so that he or she can automatically swap sites without any problems. If she used lindaikeji.com she could have easily swapped domains from blogger to maybe WordPress and keep going higher.. she was my role model sha. It's quite a pity . Still running my blog. . . Com

Linda probably needs to read this article http://www.buildyourownblog.net/?utmx=5-5&gclid=CIrRjurKncECFSITwwoduwwAsw

Rule I of the article states that

Reason I: You do not own the real estate your business sits on.

As a “renter,” your blog can be evicted (shut down) at any time by the “landlord” (free blog service.) This happens more than you might think. I know someone who lost two years of invested time, content and branding simply because their free blog host didn’t like something they said in a post...

I told her this from the beginning even before one guy registered the domain for www.lindaikeji.com and asked her for N80, 000.
She refused to pay for the acquisition. I said she should register .com.ng and she still refused.

Google deleted my Guaranty Success blog even with custom domain. Then later restored it after long complaint. But I did not need it again.

For a blog making over N36 million annually, she should have secured it on a custom domain and SSL.
An organisation needs to install the SSL Certificate onto its web server to initiate secure sessions with browsers. Depending on the type of SSL Certificate applied for, the organization will need to go through differing levels of vetting. Once installed, it is possible to connect to the website over https://www.domain.com, as this tells the server to establish a secure connection with the browser. Once a secure connection is established, all web traffic between the web server and the web browser will be secure. Browsers tell visitors a website is SSL secure via several visible trust indicators:

You have made the most brilliant and rational comment so far.
Her reaction is also disappointing and shows poor intellectual analysis of the temporary crisis.
Majority of Nigerians are like this, every problem, including poor academic knowledge is caused by enemies of progress. That is why the fake clerics exploit the fears and intellectual ignorance of the irrational masses and the politicians also feast on them like hyenas in the jungle.

Folks, could y'all quit all these "enemies-haters" and the like diatribe. This is business. Google was simply adhering to its own policies. It was "proven" beyond doubt to Google that she contravened certain aspects of operational policies. Now, whether the allegations are contrived or not is another issue. The burden of proof lies on her. Google is just protecting its own business by doing what they did.

She has to prove to Google that their action is mis-placed. Listen folks, people will envy and hate you when you succeed at what you do. The competition will do everything in their power to bring you down. Don't assist them by not watching your back as they'll exploit your weak points to get at you. Linda's mistake was being complacent and thinking "what could go wrong"...now she knows.

This is a lesson to other entrepreneurs. Know EVERYTHING to the letter about your chosen vocation. From trivia to what the law expects. She spent too much time "partying" instead of "honing" her business skills.

She's a typical example of a Nigerian entrepreneur, still very primitive when it comes to technology. There's a stage you get to when it comes to blogging and online business that you must ensure your business is protected on a multi level. Who in the world still uses a sub domain after making millions? Anyways I just hope she was smart enough to back up all her data, she can spend a few thousands to buy a domain and hosting.

Check ma posts. U will be the second female I'm giving props. I seldom praise ladies unless I truely believe they deserve it.
She not only thought u wanted to fleece her.
She probably saw you as a hater, and envious of her 'SUCCESS'

Her failure to reply your mail only forebodes doom and indicates one of many things;
She lacks the basic etiquette of replying mails AS SOON AS you get them and this is RUDE.
She doesn't give a hoot about her followers and fans. She just uses them to get traffic and millions from advertisements due to that traffic.

And this buttresses my 5th point that she doesn't pay professionals.
Agreed. She might be too busy to reply every mail. But the standard practice worldwide is to employ professionals who do this for u.
The reply gives you followers and mailers a huge sense of belonging and importance. She needs to go back to the very rudiments.
Such an attitude of not replying mails could hugely cost you follower-ship abroad

Hmmm.

You seem to be practically in Linda's mind and know all her thoughts.

You are playing judge and jury here by jumping to hasty conclusions.
