Naija men hardly forgive because they have been taught not to forgive but expect forgiveness when they cheat. They have been taught to be selfish. they do not follow the priniciple of Jesus when he said 'Do to others what you would like them to do to you'. They do not remember forgiveness when they are cheated on but become automatic pastors and can preach the whole of the bible when women cheat. What do you call that? Hypocrisy and Selfishness. They are not aware that God himself detests adultery. God himself does not care who commits it. He detests it. Most nigerians do not practise true christianity, their christianity is usually mixed with traditional religion and that is why there are a lot of double standards in the society and the society itself is totally messed up. Do nigerians know that Galatians 5 vs 19-22 mentioned adulterers as people who have no place in the Kingdom of God? No they dnt. Adultery is a serious offence in the bible that is capable of depriving one from inheriting the kingdom of God. Do they remember this? No. because they have simply refused to follow bible principles and prefer to be more traditional than being christian. 2 Likes |

If my woman cheated I'd rather die a honorable death than take her back. One of my friend his now wife cheated on him. She kissed another man. He took her back and eventually married her. Nobody respects him in our group of friends anymore. I just couldn't. As for the double standard. This is a result of supply and demand. A good amount of nigerian woman wouldn't leave a relationship where her partner is cheated or has cheated. She fears being looked down in society for be a single mother (if they had kids), afraid she may never find another partner and age being lonely, biological clock may be thicking so she'll accept it just to have children before her eggs rot, etc. Nothing more useless than a unmarried and childless women. Either way naija women who put up with a cheating partner is solely due to her selfish reasons. She's not holy pass her cheating husband. |

BananaBender:U re always preaching of gender equality in everything as if tht is d problem in this world. Y nt pray tht God shud transform u to man or come back in ur nxt life as a man if u wnt to be like a man. The funniest thing is tht, wit d opportunities given to women in d western country, they ve nt contribute anything good in this world than sitting down in offices or a marketer getting used and f...cked by men becoming a corporate prostitute unknown to them, but they will come home and say to their husband "come on sit down there we re equal" causing dispute and divorce in d home, but wen it comes to inventing, creativity, technology u won't see women, the dress u wear, the car u drive, the shoe u wear, the pant u wear were all created by men, women always wnt the easiest path in life, u re coming here and say gender equality. physically, internal and external they re different and emotionally they re different. My younger brother who lives in UK told me tht all these members of parliament(PM) who makes this devilish law against men never follow d law, their wives respect and obey them even wen they err against their wives Bill Clinton as an example wen he cheated on Hillary, she never divorce him. The wives of all these big politician knows the truth behind this gender equality so they never tend to follow it only the masses do. I can bet on this majority of Nigeria women will not accept gender equality becos they know d value of keeping a family. My aunty is a PHD holder, she works in NIFOR as a chief research officer, she is vry submissive to her husband and respect him u cud imagine she still knee to serve her husband food even wit her level of education and money she hv, her husband loves her so much cos of level of respect she ve shown to him, he recently jst bought her a range rover sport 2014 model. Stop this gender equality it doesn't exist, equal human right is wat we need. 2 Likes |

On the subject matter man is different from woman. Cheating is a physiological thing, A man and a woman of the same age can not develope at the same rate. A man reproductive cycle is longer than a woman, a man can contribute to multiple births at the same time for different women. So cheating is s.x outside marriage, and s.x is reproduction. The male reproductive organ continue to function many years after the female organ has stopped (menopause) . These are facts that makes it acceptable for man than a woman cheating. |

This is a very serious thread and from so many replies it's very interesting to see how other people see things. I believe to address this issue, behavioral pattern has to be approached cause as a guy here the society schools men not to forgive their ladies and " TO PREPARE A PUNISHMENT FOR A CHEATING LADY" even before a relationship starts which also locks way too many of we guys in a constant insecurity mindset. For me as a guy i think i appreciate the comments of ladies on this post here, but if sex is a sin like stealing, then why should we chop ourselves up? I don't cheat and live by this standard before and whenever i decide to embark on a relationship but what's worst is to prepare a plan for a cheating mate,it actually doesn't make any party, male or female give their absolute best to make it work... Also for many men it is deeply rooted in EGO and self depreciation,a man's utmost desire for his woman is to protect, care and love when that happens he feels he has failed woefully and subjects himself willfully and willingly to self punishment we are call here as unforgiveness from the guy,i think we got it reversed, because it's not entirely that guys can't forgive but rather guys don't know how to forgive and learn to re-love again May God help us all. I find this post educational and will keep reading other views |

In Africa, a man can be polygamous its acceptable and normal if he can control his home. But a woman can never be accepted if she has more than one man in her life. |
Re: Why Naija Men Hardly Forgive A Cheating Partner. by josite: 8:48am On Oct 09, 2014 |
inability to forgive after being pleaded it is immaturiy and is largely associated with small minded man.thats why i say to intending brides, scrutinise not only his finances, his temperanment, let him go if he is not soundminded and has not developed principles worth living and dying for. that a wife gives way to the human urge and hav sex to me should not be a matter of life and death.it is a human thing. |
