If a change must happen in a nation, it should be a positive one. NYSC going digital is a welcome development but it doesn't make sense when you pay ten folds for the service being rendered to you. I believe the online printing of call up letter will reduce the cost of logistics and help save too much paper works, making it 4k is just too much.

On thinking may be some people didnt pay because of being poor, I think that is ridiculous and well not thought of.

I'm an I.T guy and I can boldly tell you that "going digital from manual" is not cheap! All y'all saying the manual way is more expensive... Like really Please Google or research about what I.T firms charges to do such? By the way, the federal government is not responsible for the bills and whoever is handling the contract (sidmach or what) isn't charging NYSC a chicken change! You can build a full functional website (with payment links to bank servers) for as much as $200k or more. Talkless of building(not even updating) a whole fresh system from manual scratch to a fully functional digital system. I have no fact about the contract but as an I.T personnel, I can tell u sidmach (or whatever) would charge such a governmental institution like NYSC nothing less than $500k or more and they by the way, they re the one getting that extra 60 naira after whatever they have charged NYSC for the contract. Most people dont understand how this thing works. I feel the grievances and pains as a fresh graduate parting away with 4k. Its not easy, but believe me its not easy on NYSC too...

Good analysis, am not into I.T so I can't dislodge your claims. It is very callous of the FG if they can't pay for such services bearing in mind that each Corp members earn a paltry 19.8k every month end. The amount that is not enough for feeding alone is what they expect you to survive with in an unfamiliar environment.

Besides I believe the amount can be reduced if it is done in form of scratch card.

At least I was taught in Engineering to make something better in the most cost effective manner.
