Greetings! They have equal approval chances because they're based on the exact same thing -- a petition filed by a U.S. citizen spouse. A K3 requires the I-129 petition, which can only be filed after the I-130 petition has been appoved by USCIS. K3s usually get interview dates sooner than CR1s, because CR1s are scheduled by the National Visa Center (NVC), whereas K3s are scheduled by the applicants themselves online; but CR1s are generally processed so quickly that you only save a month or so by going the K3 route. (That said, NVC is experiencing processing delays due to a sudden increase in their caseload; but by the time you file, I think they'll have everything back to normal again.)

We generally don't allow petitioners into the waiting room. You probably noticed how full our waiting room was when you came to your interview -- and that was a slow day, as I recall.

My elder sister also left in August for her master am left in Nigeria because of my job. Now I have missed them so much and would love to visit them this December. My mom just got a place of her own. The question is
1. Is it too early for my mom to invite me?
2. If not, how do I go about it? And what are the required documents that I need?

I have a question about the dv lottery 2016. I have successfully completed G.C.E O/L (10 Subjects) Sri Lanka in 2006. I sat for G.C.E A/L Sri Lanka in 2008 but only completed one subject (Chemistry). Then I came to Australia and completed a 2 year Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Robotics and Mechatronics) in 2012 December from Swinburne University of Technology , Australia which advanced me into the second year of Bachelor of Engineering (Robotics and Mechatronics) in 2013. I'm due to finish this in 2015 December.

I am a bit confused about the minimum education requirement for the application for Sri Lankans. Because in the application form it says the minimum education requirement is to have a high-school dip or equivalent but then it also says vocational school and equivalence degrees are not accepted . I am still not sure if , by "minimum requirement is a high school degree" whether they are asking everyone to have a compulsory US high school degree or an equivalent qualification in their own country....Or by minimum education requirement if they mean that the high school degree is just the basic requirement for someone to apply . which can be over ridden by a tertiary qualification higher than a high school degree qualification such as a Diploma , Advanced Dip, Associate Dp , Bachelors Degree. It's confusing.

My question is , I would like to know if I am eligible to apply using my Australian Advanced Diploma ? without having to provide my Sri Lanka high school degree as it does not fulfil 3 G.C.E subject requirement and I do not have two year work experience requirement to apply through a job experience.

It is confusing, isn't it? The good news is that you qualify. As you put it, a high school degree is just the basic requirement for someone to apply, and it can be overridden by a tertiary qualification higher than a high school degree qualification such as a Diploma, Advanced Dip, Associate Dip, Bachelors Degree, etc. One way to think of it is: Could I be accepted into an undergraduate university program with the education I have right now? In your case, the answer is clearly yes, so you're good to go.

I am wondering if i should accept because he is a nice guy.

and in case, our marriage doesn't go through it means that i will lose my first place I-130?

so my question is, should i accept to let him fill a fiance visa for me? or would my case be complicated?

Thanks for your response, I do appreciate. I sent both copies of our Neco certificate showing we attended the same high school together with the scratch card to verify the authencity to LagosIVdocuments@state.gov. I am very much aware the consulate did not request this information and please do not see this as an attempt to breach protocol rather please view this as an effort to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. We are planning on getting married on 10/17/2014 and she already applied for her graduate study for Spring 2015 semester. I was advised not to include any information about her previous relationship which I refused to do, Instead to be honest I included that on the petition. This is very frustrating and depressing moment for us. we were very honest on the petition, documents provided and during her interview and will be happy if we are rewarded for telling the truth by approving our case. Hello VO. i went for immigrant visa interview with my 2 kids and was asked to do DNA. immediately we got home, my husband called the DNA center in the States and gave them all necessary information and made part payment online with his credit card. The test kit for my kids was sent the following day which is 19th of Sept. The kit arrived lagos 24th of Sept. my husband swab has been taken on the 3rd of this month. It's exactly 2weeks today since test kit arrived lagos and yet we've not been contacted to come for swab collection. we started this whole journey in June 2012. Over 2years. I want to know how long the whole DNA process takes and if there's any way i can help hasten it, so that I'll get it done with. raising our kids alone without my husband is affecting me alot. Thank you.

dear vo,i read on web that the approval time of I-130 depend upon various factors nd one factor is the complexity of the case...more the complex case more time will it took to be approved/denied now my question is that i think consular officers dont have as much time as uscis they have to act fast now how do they reach the verdict soo fast or do you recieve a memo about the particular case from uscis whn you receive petition from visa center??can uscis approve a case just to be denied by visa officer??

Unfortunately my secondary school has packed up and there is no way I can get them to help me sort it out. WAEC too are not helpful. Please i need you to help me out on this,my ex wife won visa lottery in 2009 and we were scheduled to go for interview in that same year November but things did not work out in our marriage so we went our separate ways and got divorced before the interview date so both of us did not go for the interview.
