My humble take is this: Jesus is GOD, but came to earth as man so he loved His mother, just like you and I love our mothers. If you call JESUS your father, saviour, Lord and master and speak in this manner of the one he called mother, do you think He will be happy with?

If you must preach the gospel, do so in a manner that does not lead you to doom. Preach what is needed and let those who acclaim her as their mother do so.

If you love JESUS, do love everyone and don't invest your time researching things that may show you the gate of hell, cos your topic is one that will drive you there faster.

we only honour mary
we do not worship her.
Truly no one goes to the father except through christ, but
some are also in a better position to pray for us that's where we talk about mediator. let's take a look at what happened in canaan.

If we are looking for how many mediator we have , the Bible has told us. If we are looking for the mediator is, the Bible has told us also. So it is human manipulation to bring in anything that is unbiblical.

The answers to how many and who the mediator is are found in 1 timothy 2:5

OLAADEGBU:
Question: "What does the Bible say about the virgin Mary?"

Answer: Mary the mother of Jesus was described by God as "highly favoured" (Luke 1:28). The phrase "highly favoured" comes from a single Greek word, which essentially means "much grace." Mary received God’s grace.

Grace is "unmerited favour," meaning something we receive despite the fact that we do not deserve it. Mary needed grace from God just as the rest of us do. Mary herself understood this fact, as she declared in Luke 1:47, “. . . and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour. . .”

Mary recognized that she needed the Saviour. The Bible never says that Mary was anyone but an ordinary human whom God chose to use in an extraordinary way. Yes, Mary was a righteous woman and favoured (graced) by God (Luke 1:27-28). At the same time, Mary was a sinful human being who needed Jesus Christ as her Saviour, just like everyone else (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 6:23; 1 John 1:8.)

Mary did not have an "immaculate conception." The Bible doesn’t suggest Mary’s birth was anything but a normal human birth. Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus (Luke 1:34-38), but the idea of the perpetual virginity of Mary is unbiblical. Matthew 1:25, speaking of Joseph, declares, "But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave Him the name Jesus."

The word "until" clearly indicates that Joseph and Mary did have sexual union after Jesus was born. Joseph and Mary had several children together after Jesus was born. Jesus had four half-brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (Matthew 13:55). Jesus also had half-sisters, although they are not named or numbered (Matthew 13:55-56). God blessed and graced Mary by giving her several children, which in that culture was the clearest indication of God’s blessing on a woman.

One time when Jesus was speaking, a woman in the crowd proclaimed, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed" (Luke 11:27). There was never a better opportunity for Jesus to declare that Mary was indeed worthy of praise and adoration. What was Jesus’ response? "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it" (Luke 11:28). To Jesus, obedience to God’s Word was more important than being the woman who gave birth to the Saviour.

Nowhere in Scripture does Jesus, or anyone else, direct any praise, glory, or adoration towards Mary. Elizabeth, Mary’s relative, praised Mary in Luke 1:42-44, but her praise is based on the blessing of giving birth to the Messiah. It was not based on any inherent glory in Mary.

Mary was present at the cross when Jesus died (John 19:25). Mary was also with the apostles on the day of Pentecost (Acts 1:14). However, Mary is never mentioned again after Acts chapter 1. The apostles did not give Mary a prominent role. Mary’s death is not recorded in the Bible. Nothing is said about Mary ascending to heaven or having an exalted role there. As the earthly mother of Jesus, Mary should be respected, but she is not worthy of our worship or adoration.

The Bible nowhere indicates that Mary can hear our prayers or that she can mediate for us with God. Jesus is our only advocate and mediator in heaven (1 Timothy 2:5). If offered worship, adoration, or prayers, Mary would say the same as the angels: "Worship God!" (see Revelation 19:10; 22:9.) Mary herself sets the example for us, directing her worship, adoration, and praise to God alone: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me — holy is His name" (Luke 1:46-49).

"holy Mary, the mother of God. ".... Ridiculous, ain't it?
Ridiculous? Not really. ''Mother of God'' comes from the the Greek word 'Theotokos' which means 'the one who gives birth to God' or 'God-bearer'. If christian theology believes that Jesus is God, then Mary is the one that gave birth to Him.

Virgin mary is a sinner and a human being like you and I. Am very sure that at that time there were a lot of virgins, but God chose her - ( just like a chariot of fire took Elijah to heaven, just like the sure mercies of David, just like the strength God gave Samson...etc...).

God could have chosen any body.
Just like God may choose to elevate anyone beyond their wildest imagination.

The Messiah had to come, and it came through mary!

Mary was a sinner like me!!!

The bible says any man/woman born of woman into this world is a sinner.

For other persons named Maryam, see Maryam (name). according to islam

Mary (مريم Marīam in Arabic), the mother of Jesus (Isa), is considered one of the most righteous women in the Islamic tradition. She is mentioned more in the Quran[2] than in the entire New Testament and is also the only woman mentioned by name in the Quran.[3] According to the Quran, Jesus was born miraculously by the will of God without a father. His mother is regarded as a chaste and virtuous woman and is said to have been a virgin. The Quran states clearly that Jesus was the result of a virgin birth, but that neither Mary nor her son were divine. In the Quran, no other woman is given more attention than Mary and the Quran states that Mary was chosen above all women:

Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and purified thee – chosen thee above the women of all nations.
—Quran, sura 3 (Al Imran), ayah 42[4]

The nineteenth chapter of the Quran, Maryam (sura) is named after her and is, to some extent, about her life. Of the Quran's 114 suras, she is among only eight people who have a chapter named after them. Mary is specifically mentioned in the Quran, alongside Asiya, as an exemplar for all righteous women.[5] Mary plays an important role in Islamic culture and religious tradition, and verses from the Quran relating to Mary are frequently inscribed on the mihrab of various mosques, including in the Hagia Sophia.[6]

Contents
The Quran calls Mary "the daughter of 'Imran".[7] Sometimes confused with Amram, the father of Moses, Imran in Islamic tradition is also another name for Joachim the husband of Hannah, the sister of Elizabeth, the wife of Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist.[1][8][9] In the Quran, Hannah prayed for a child and eventually conceived; but her husband Imran, died before the child was born. Expecting the child to be male, Hannah vowed to dedicate him to isolation and service in the Temple.[10] However, Hannah bore a daughter instead, and named her Mary.[11][8][9]
Mary in the Quran

Mary is mentioned frequently in the Quran, and her narrative occurs consistently from the earliest chapters, revealed in Mecca, to the latest verses, revealed in Medina.
Birth

The birth of Mary is narrated in the Quran with references to her father as well as her mother. Mary's father is called Amran (Imran in Arabic) in tradition and is the equivalent of Joachim in Christian tradition. Her mother is called Anne (Hannah in Arabic), which is the same name as in Christian tradition (Saint Anne). Muslim literature narrates that Amram and his wife were old and childless and that, one day, the sight of a bird in a tree feeding her young aroused Anne's desire for a child. She prayed to God to fulfill her desire[12] and vowed, if her prayer was accepted, that her child would be dedicated to the service of God. She prayed for her child to remain protected from Satan (Shayṭān) and Muslim tradition records a hadith, which states that the only children born without the "touch of Satan," were Mary and Jesus.[13] This belief regarding Mary mirrors the Christian concept of the Immaculate Conception, which is a dogma within the Catholic Church.
Early years

The Quran narrates that Mary grew up in the temple of the prayer, and had a special place in the temple of her own. She was placed under the care of the prophet Zechariah. The Muslim narrative makes it clear that lots were cast[14] as to who should be the guardian of Mary and the outcome was that she should be placed under Zechariah's care. As often as Zechariah entered Mary's prayer chamber, he found her provided with food[15] and he would ask her where she received it from, to which she would reply that God provides to whom He wills. Scholars have debated as to whether this refers to miraculous food that Mary received from God or whether it was normal food. Those in favor of the former view state that it had to be miraculous food, as Zechariah being a prophet, would have known that God is the provider of all sustenance and thus would not have questioned Mary, if it was normal food.
Annunciation to Mary
Mary's lineage, going back to her grandfather, as interpreted by Muslims.

The virgin birth of Jesus is supremely important in Islam, as one of the most important miracles of God. The first explicit mention of an annunciation foreshadowing the birth of Jesus is in sura 19 (Maryam), ayah 20 where Mary asks Gabriel (Jibril) how she will be able to conceive, when no man has touched her. Gabriel's reply assures Mary that for God all things are easy and that Jesus's virgin birth will be a sign for mankind.[16] The birth is later referred in sura 66 (At-Tahrim), ayah 12,[17] where the Quran states that Mary remained "pure", while God allowed a life to shape itself in Mary's womb. A third mention of the annunciation is in sura 3 (Al-Imran), ayat 37–38, where Mary is also given the glad tidings that she has been chosen above all the women of creation.[18]

Commentators on the Quran remark on the last verse that Mary was as close to a perfect woman as there could be, and she was devoid of almost all failings.[19] Although Islam honors numerous women, including Khadija and Fatimah, many commentators[20] followed this verse in the absolute sense, and agreed that Mary was the greatest woman of all time.[19] Other commentators, however, while maintaining that Mary was the "queen of the saints", interpreted this verse to mean that Mary was the greatest woman of that time and that Fatimah and Khadija were equally great.[21][19] According to exegesis and literature, Gabriel appeared to Mary, who was still young in age, in the form of a well-made man with a "shining face" and announced to her the birth of Jesus. After her immediate astonishment, she was reassured by the angel's answer that God has the power to do anything.[19] The details of the conception are not discussed during these angelic visits, but elsewhere the Quran states (sura 21, (Al-Anbiya), ayah 91[22] and 66:12[17]) that God breathed "His Spirit" into Mary while she was chaste.[23][24]
Virgin birth of Jesus
Virgin Mary nurtured by a palm tree, as described in the Quran.

The Quran narrates the virgin birth of Jesus numerous times. In sura 19 (Maryam), ayat 17–21,[25] the annunciation is given, followed by the virgin birth in due course. In Islam, Jesus is called the "spirit of God" because he was through the action of the spirit, but that belief does not include the doctrine of his pre-existence, as it does in Christianity.[26] Sura 3, ayat 47 also supports the virginity of Mary, revealing that "no man has touched [her]".[27] Sura:66:12[17] states that Jesus was born when the spirit of God breathed upon Mary, whose body was chaste.[28]

The Quran's narrative of the virgin birth is somewhat different from that in the New Testament. The Quran states that when the pains of childbirth came upon Mary, she held onto a nearby palm tree, at which point a voice came from "beneath the (palm-tree)" or "beneath her", which said " "Grieve not! for thy Lord hath provided a rivulet beneath thee; "And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee."[29] The Quran goes on to describe that Mary vowed not to speak to any man on that day,[30] as God was to make Jesus, who Muslims believe spoke in the cradle, perform his first miracle. The Quran goes on to narrate that Mary then brought Jesus to the temple, where immediately she began to be taunted by all the men, excluding Zechariah, who believed in the virgin birth. The Israelites questioned Mary how she came to be with child whilst unmarried, to which Mary pointed to the baby Jesus. It was then that according to the Quran the infant Jesus began to speak in the cradle, and spoke of his prophecy for the first time.[31]

Mary in Muslim tradition

Mary is one of the most honored figures in Muslim history, with the majority of Muslims viewing her as one of the most righteous women to have lived, and a minority viewing her as an actual female prophet.[33] Muslim women look upon her as an example and are known to visit both Muslim and Christian shrines. Muslim tradition, like Christian, honors her memory at Matariyyah near Cairo, and in Jerusalem. Muslims also visit the Bath of Mary in Jerusalem, where Muslim tradition recounts Mary once bathed, and this location was visited at times by women, who were seeking a cure for barrenness.[34] Some plants have also been named after Mary, such as Maryammiah, which, as tradition recounts, acquired its sweet scent when Mary wiped her forehead with its leaves. Another plant is Kaff Maryam (Anastatica), which was used by some Muslim women to help in pregnancy, and the water of this plant was given to women to drink while praying.

Islamic literature does not recount many instances from Mary's later life, and the assumption is one of the Christian events not present in any Muslim records. Nevertheless, some contemporary Muslim scholars, an example being Martin Lings, accepted the assumption as being a historical event from Mary's life.[35] One of the lesser-known events which is recorded in Muslim literature, is that of Mary visiting Rome with John and Thaddeus (Jude), the disciples (al-Hawāriyūn) of Jesus, during the reign of Nero.[36]

I know you have a problem understanding English language.

catholic says Mary intercede for them and u are missing it up with mediator. yes Christ is the only mediator between God and man. but Mary intercede,i.e plead on our behalf.

dictionary meaning of mediator and intercede

To intercede is to go or come between two
parties, to plead before one of them on behalf
of the other. "Mediation"
means a standing in the midst between two
(contending) parties, for the purpose of
bringing them together.
whats the diffrence between a mediator and an interceder, and how can an offspring of adam who was born in sin be qualified enough to intercede?

At least they are witty enough not to worship and bow down to Mary's image.

OLAADEGBU ..There is an Old saying that says "Curiosity killed the Cat " Do not let your curiosity fool you

Some issues in the bible are better left for theologians to work and argue on but not for passer bys like us

I have read your write .you made sense at some point but lost it when you wanted to put it in your own way to condemn the Catholic Church and The Blessed Virgin Mary

Honestly you are ignorant of alot of things concerning life before Christ amd After the Death of Christ

Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mother were prefigured in the Old Testament even before Both of them came into the world ..
The parallels in the Old Testament and the New Testament is a branch of scripture study known as “typology”.   other words, events and people in the New Testament are prefigured by events and people in the Old Testament.

One such typology revolves around Revelation 12 and Genesis 37:9.  In Genesis, Joseph says,    "Behold, I have dreamed another dream; and behold, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me." In Revelation 12:1, the scripture reads,    “And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.”  The obvious parallel is that the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars in Joseph’s dream represent his 11 brothers and all of Israel, while THE WOMAN in Revelation is adorned with these symbols of Israel.  So who is the “WOMAN”?  The first clue is the term “a great portent”.

In Isaiah 7:14 in the Old Testament, it says,    “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son and his name shall be called Emmanuel.” The great portent of Revelation and the sign of Isaiah are one and the same – A Virgin who will give birth to the leader of Israel, Jesus Christ.  That woman is the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The writer of the book of Revelation, St. John the Apostle, was given by Jesus on the cross to Mary as her son, and Mary was given to John as his Mother, in John 19:26-27.    This means that John knew Mary better than anyone, except for Jesus, and he is trying to tell us all something about her status in heaven.

In the preceding verse, Revelation 11:19, John tells us that he sees the Ark of the Covenant. In the next verse, Revelation 12:1, he describes the Ark for us as “A woman clothed with the sun”, a term that could only mean the immaculately conceived Virgin Mary.  The rest of Revelation 12 talks about the enmity prefigured in Genesis 3:15 between the devil and THE WOMAN, and how satan can’t get to her.  In Revelation 12:17, it says that we are her children if we follow the commandments and bear testimony to Jesus.Mary is also seen as the new Eve. Whereas Eve listened to the devil Lucifer and obeyed him, bringing sin and damnation into the world, Mary listened to the angel Gabriel and obeyed him, thus bringing grace and salvation into the world in the form of Jesus Christ.  Mary and Jesus are forever linked together, just as Adam and Eve are.  Eve came forth from the side of Adam; Jesus came forth from the womb of Mary.  Eve was created immaculately and sinned; Mary was created immaculately and stayed sinless.  Thus Mary and her obedience to God overcame Eve’s disobedience to God.  And while Mary's parents, Anna and Joachim, were not immaculately conceived, Mary was, so that she would not pass on original sin (the devil had NO dominion over Jesus, ever) through the womb.  How can this be? Well, God is God, and he can create anything from nothing, merely through His Word at any time He so chooses.  Eve was the first woman immaculately created and sinned; Mary was the second woman immaculately created and did not sin.

I advice you seek salvation and leave issues that you know nothing about

u have made no point, the Op talks about mediate which I have shown u the meaning.

this where Mary interceded in the bible,
john 2:1-8 and this is also known as the first miracle of Christ.

On the third day a wedding took
place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’
mother was there, and Jesus and
his disciples had also been invited
to the wedding. When the wine
was gone, Jesus’ mother said to
him, “They have no more wine.”
“Woman, why do you involve
me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has
not yet come.”
His mother said to the servants,
“Do whatever he tells you.”
Nearby stood six stone water jars,
the kind used by the Jews for
ceremonial washing, each holding
from twenty to thirty gallons.
Jesus said to the servants, “Fill
the jars with water”; so they filled
them to the brim.
Then he told them, “Now draw
some out and take it to the master
of the banquet.”

I repeat Mary do not mediate she intercede pls don't miss the words. that part of Luke u quoted she also said " Henceforth, all generations shall call me blessed.

Please is there anywhere it is witten that the dead people have the powers to intercede for the living or is it simply human innovation?

Why are Muslims allowed to comment in a Christian thread and even post their koran verses here? The topic specifically requests for what the Bible has to say about Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Anybody posting koran verses should be banned and the comment deleted.

Matthew chapter 27........
"56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children. 57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathæa, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: 58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. 61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre."
Are they not the brethren of Jesus U mentioned? Do U know how jews refer to their relatives from same or different parents? How could U be so sure that Mary the mother of Jesus gave birth to them after reading
Matthew chapter 13....
"55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?"
Don't add nor take from the bible coz d reward is death. If something is unclear, pls I advice U to keep shut for Ur own good. Thank U

first, I'm not a Catholic but intend to become a Roman Catholic soon cos I now know Better.

About Honoring Mary which Protestants misinterpret as worshiping Mary;

Yes, God could have chosen any woman for Christ to come through.

Now look at it this way...

God could also choose any woman to be the mother of president Goodluck, but whomever is his mother would always receive respect and honor from the people simply because she's the President's mother. Now...how much more respect do you think the woman God chose to be worthy of been the mother of Christ deserves?

I really don't understand what you intend to achieve by this your post: Is it to make Catholics stop believing what they already have believe since ages past or is it to show and affirmed what you and your non-catholics colleagues never really believed? If the first question is your motive, you have failed and should the second be the motive, no need for this post as you people already hardened your heart and you won't even need this post.
Now back to your argument, I want you to know that all we know about God does not end with the bible for the bible itself says ' I will send you the Holy Spirit which will lead you to all truth' Now as far as Holy Spirit resides in the Church we will continue to be led into more revelations about God.
Do you believe that Jesus is God and man at the same time? His being man allow him to come down live and dine with us. His being God ensures that he never sinned. The scripture says that Christ represents the first Adam, does it not strike you that Mary represents the first Eve. Another part of the scripture says the serpent was told 'The son of the WOMAN shall bruise your head and you shall strike his heel' - this reasoning place Christ and Mary side by side. Again if Christ is God, does that not strike you that one who begot God is godly in nature? Can grape give birth to orange? One who begot God is godly in nature. Mary is the mother of God as Elizabeth affirmed in the scripture. This is what Catholic Church preaches and no matter what anyone thinks, this won't change. So OP leave this topic, nothing changes the truth Church has come to know.

At this rate, many would still argue the divinity of Christ and His oneness with the Father and the Holy Spirit (the Trinity) and probably back it up with bible verses. Little wonder pastors are plying private jets while they give you Sunday school lessons to keep you busy thinking of the theology they themselves can't decipher.

Please is there anywhere it is witten that the dead people have the powers to intercede for the living or is it simply human innovation?

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives and believe in me will never die. Do you believe this? . John 11:25-26

Jesus is asking if you believe his words above. I believe it, do you?

Did Mary live and believe in Jesus?
If Yes, do you still consider her "dead"?

first, I'm not a Catholic but intend to become a Roman Catholic soon cos I now know Better.

About Honoring Mary which Protestants misinterpret as worshiping Mary;

O MY GOD!! THIS POST MADE MY DAY!!! cheesy cheesy cheesy
God bless you real good.
