Christ told us to pray to his father in heaven! Not to him or to anyone else. He specifically then told us to ask for anything we want in his name. Ask in his name! WHATEVER WE ASK FOR! So if I needed intercession or mediation on my behalf with his father who should I ask? HIM! Not Mary, not a Saint, not the Priest and not the Pope or the Pastor or the G.O or the ''Man of God''.

No the bible did not tell me how to tie my shoes or whether it is good to wear an extra jacket in winter. It doesn't tell us these. But when it comes to true worship and prayer and fasting and giving alms and who we should pray to and through, these are fully stated in the bible. Note generically but specifically.

@Nnatom, I would have been a very happy catholic if I know a third of what you know and did show here. Trying though. I stopped arguing with them when I could prove that the bible directed that we confess our sins to one another and confessions by Catholics are justified.

The meaning of brother in the bible can also be an extended relative e.g gen 13:8 where brother was used to describe the relationship between abraham and lot who are uncle and nephew. Also 1 cor. 15:6 doesn't mean that mary gave birth to 500 children even tho they are all called brethren of christ. 2. These brothers were never once called children of mary the mother of jesus. 3. There are other women in the bible called mary. James nd joseph who are called jesus' "brothers" (mark 6:3) are indeed children of Mary but not the blessed Mary who bore Jesus. This mary was among those who witnessed the crucifixion from afar (matt 27:56) while the blessed Mary stood by the cross(john 19:25). So u see, christ had no biological brothers.

Ha ha ha...Ok so when the bible says

''Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him''.


It could have meant his relatives with his mother?

ha ha ha okay fine. So let us assume that suddenly it was just his cousins with his mother, are we saying Joseph who never divorced her did not sleep with Mary? Are we saying they did not or would not have had sexual contact? Did God expressly remove the desire for sex from Mary who is human? Or was Joseph staying with her forever without the desire of having sex with her?

If these things are almost impossible, then are we saying Mary lost the ability to give birth after Christ was born?

Sorry for the mistake in the "praying to Jesus thing" but you still didn't answer my question. We Catholics also pray to God through Christ, but you still have told me where it is stated in the bible that it is wrong for we Catholics to ask Mary to intercede for us or why we should believe it is wrong. And again don't tell me because it is not stated in the bible to do so because I will turn back and ask you y you think whatever is not stated in the bible is wrong. That's all.

We Catholics do not narrow it only to Mary. We also honor and pray to saints and we also ask our priest and any man of God we respect to pray for us. Its Just that Mary's role in our salvation is so worthy that of more honor and respect hence different levels of respect are awarded. That's all.

Please read carefully and seek to understand. The bible passage above only states the following,
1) That mary is christ mother.
2) That christ had brothers and sisters.
It didn't say mary had other children. The brothers of christ could have been close relatives, step brothers or adopted children of mary. As To why out of all these options Catholics refuse to accept that mary had other biological children please read the link my fellow brother gave to you. Please just give him the benefit of doubt. IT WAS GLARRINGLY STATED HOW TO PRAY! The ten commandments gave instructions about uses of Image in worship. Read the book of Mathew. If the use of Mary was that important, it would have been stated clearly as the WAY TO PRAY. He talked about giving alms, he talked about praying, he talked about fasting, he talked about being good neighbours, he talked about getting close to God. He talked about asking things from God through prayer, he talked about being contrite, he talked about repentance, But forgot to add that we need Mary to intercede of mediate? Christ wouldn't have left that out to talk about other things . HE WOULD HAVE EXPRESSLY STATED IT. This matter is not as little as the wedding feast. It is a vital mater that Christ wouldn't have left out! No way! THE APPOSTLES COULDNT HAVE LEFT OUT SUCH AN IMPORTANT DETAIL SPANNING YEARS AFTER THE ASCENSION OF CHRIST, EITHER BOTH WHEN THEY MET IN HOUSES AND WHEN THEY TAUGHT AND PREACHED THE GOSPELS.

But because I believe in humanity and the principle that as long as what you do does not harm me or anyone else and does not encroach on my own freedoms. And as long as we can all live together you bearing in your heart what you believe and professing it without shoving it down my throat and I doing the same, then it is all good. Then I am more open to discussions and rubbing of minds just like we are doing now.
