aanumama:Nobody is a sadist and a hater here . people are only asking the obvious questions but you and your kind wants them to shut the hell up ,may I also remind you too that people have a right to disagree with those pictures ,after all the influx of Northern youths into Southern states looking for menial jobs with low pay calls for a proper scrutiny of whatever good news that we might be getting from that region that runs on a feudal system that keeps the downtrodden down even to the fifth and sixth generation. I can go on and on in mentioning too many instances why we have to be very objective with the North on whatever they are selling to the public. You can't hold this country and your own people down for decades under the barrel of the gun with nothing to show for it except for some cheap image making. We are not that gullible. 7 Likes |

That2: A very simplistic explanation IMO. Lagos is not in any way nucleated as you would want to believe. Lagos is densely populated, and that across all of the state. |

Good thread. There was a similar on thread on NL 2008/2009 that addressed same subject: Sights and sounds of the North (or something like that). 6 Likes |

ONE NIGERIA Sometimes i begin to wonder if the slogan 'ONE NIGERIA' is actually real. Most nigerians already know that the slogan 'ONE NIGERIA' is only about time. I see a nation, one nation bound in bondage, violence and disunity totally opposite of what can be obtained from its national pledge. A time will come when the bondage will be broken and freedom will take place. A time will come when violence will bring peace for all the inhabitants of this nation. A time will come when disunity, going our own ways will bring strength and unity for the people. The nation was built on falsehood and forcehood. Not minding what you think or wish! A time will come when the word NIGERIA will be split and every single letter in that word will be independent! SOON! SOON!! SOON!!! 1 Like |

Rawani: Nice job, beautiful scenes! The truth has always been that some places in the north are far more beautiful (aided by nature sometimes) than some states in the south with a very good example of Abia state which happens to be the most backward and dirtiest state in Africa. The political class in the north are largely to blame about the distrust and in some cases hatred btw north and south. They delight in stealing(just like their southern counterpart of course) and not wanting their people to be enlightened so that they can always use them for political gains being very poor and uneducated. Another thing is the mentality of being born to rule even when it's clear to all that the south has a far larger percentage of literate people than the north. Of course there are some exceptionally and extremely intelligent people in the north but they're clearly in the minority there. The one thing that would not allow northern Nigeria to cross my mind when I'm thinking of where to go for vacation is the fundamentalist mentality of some of the religious bigots there. Ordinary stepping on a qur'an mistakenly is enough to send thousands of people to their early graves. If a teacher asks his/her pupil to stop cheating in an examination the next moment the pupil would say the teacher was insulting the qur'an or the holy prophet and voila, he/she would be killed instantly. Sorry to say this but some of them are clearly animals and there is nothing anybody would tell me about a 'religion of peace' that takes delight in killing and maiming with or without any provocation, that would make me believe otherwise. Your pictures are quite beautiful, I only wish the people's mind were like that too. People always argue that those fundamentalists are not many and that they are not practicing islam, but I usually laugh at this because you don't need a multitude to cause destruction. A house built by 100 people in 10yrs can be destroyed by one man in one day! Majority of Germans were good people but it took one Adolf Hitler and a few cronies to bring the whole world to its knees. One suicide bomber can kill over 100 ppl in a day so the argument doesn't hold up. My prayer is for peace to reign everywhere in my fatherland so I can feel free to go anywhere I please without any fear. God bless the north. God bless the south. God bless Nigeria 5 Likes |

Kano is overhyped, i am from Enugu state but was born in kano and grow up in kano. I was born in kurna Makaranta Banbalayi dala local govt kano . I stayed in Kano for 18 good year before moving to other part of the north where i spent some year too. . Most of the pictures the op post are picture of the capital city/ federal project which other state in Nigeria can boast of.. Most of those picture of kano are places like sharada, ohtoro, ugwan-ukwu, the road to farm centers and country mail etc. If not for the coming of kwankwasiya Amana that brough street light to kano, we have been living in darkness. kano is beautiful but they are thesame level with Enugu. Ohmen you need to see Enugu state!! GOD bless chimaroke and sullivan chima.. Places like jagiwa, kastina, Gombe are still learners where Enugu is. kano tubin giwaaaa, ko mai da ka zo da shi mum fi ka Enugu Adi go mmaaaa |

You'll be amazed the hip life here in Kaduna, you'd wonder if you were in the 'North" that everybody has bastardized. P.S I am a Delta boy, born in Lagos, schooled in Benin so I am not just repping the North,I am telling you as it is. 5 Likes |

01karma: When last have you been to kurna? Sharada is not in any of the pics op shared. Sharada from phase3 downward is more local and unfine than rijiyan lemo. Why, because sharada is industrial area R.lemo is residential area. I stayed in both areas. Do you know layin shata, babban layi that where I once reside and schooled in Bokavo barrack. |

I can post as many beautiful pics as on these thread in my street alone. Whatever you want to prove, the North is still lagging behind. I know almost everywhere in the North-West and North-East and I can tell you, 95% of it is in Stone Age. |
Re: THE TRUE FACE OF THE NORTH by Nobody: 8:26pm On Oct 12, 2014 |
The average northern state gets about #2.5b per month while the average southern state gets #8.5b courtesy 13% derivation...yet the southerners keep saying all sorts of things...does this means the south should blame the north for their underdevelopment?. The north is Mecca if some sorts where most people.wanna visit, that's why people like zik, ojukwu, ike nwachukwu, nzegwu were all born in the north. The north has accommodated southerners and have even taken them as brothers, that's y you must see an ibo or yoruba family in the smallest town in the north... Chq out the attached naija map..see the massive land mass stretching from adamawa to benue to kogi and to kwara...the north is thrice the southern contraption.... The north still believes in one Nigeria and that's why they they always smile off irritations from their southern guys who wants division... There is no doubt that the north is an embodiment of cultural architectural beauty and most of the pics here are not even up to 0.0001 of what's in the north 7 Likes
