Honestly, I never wanted to shortchange myself but I realized I can get positive assessment easily if I nominate Architectural draftperson than Architect. Degree here might not equate to theirs. bellong: |

dailydolar: Hello. From the look of things, your wife is a better candidate. Her work experience as Admin Manager and the duties mentioned, shows she can assess for Corporate Services Manager 132111. Does she have 3yrs experience? Corp Services Manager is not on the SOL, but it is on the CSOL...South Australia occupation list, to be specific. South Australia nomination is fairly easy to get, once you meet the requirements...so you go for the 190. Visit this link - http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/0/9B72172F667D4819CA2575DF002DA6BA?opendocument If that link doesnt open, google CORPORATE SERVICES MANAGER ANZSCO, then click on the first abs.gov link that pops up...it will lead you to a page. Digest tht page well...see if it involves what she currently does now, at least 60%. After visiting that link, let me know. |

dailydolar: Don't think it will. Let her take the points test, so you can determine how many points she makes. |

dailydolar: Look for osh&c in this link. http://www.vetassess.com.au/Portals/0/Downloads/qualification_assessment/VETASSESS-General-Occupation-List.pdf?vid=100 Read the side comment. Doess your profile/work exp conform with the guidelines in the side comment? Do you have at least 1 yr experience in oshc and according to the specifications in that side comment? Most of the occupations in that section a require a degree in a highly relevant field...dunno if Chemistry falls under highly relevant. If you really want to try it out, VETASSESS offers an advisory service that you pay for. You submit a couple of documents, pay about 15k, and in 10 days they get back to you and tell you if your work experience and/or qualifications qualify you for the nominated occupation.......before you then go ahead to pay the proper assessment fee. That aside, getting a 7 in IELTS GENERAL TRAINING is not a hard feat. Also, the work experience you scored as 10...is that her total work exp or total exp as an admin manager. It has to be total exp in the nominated occupation, not her total work experience in life o. Even if she only scores 5 in work experience, she still qualifies for 190. |

@bossladymo @bellong @detoun82 .. FYI got a positive vetassess assesment on friday... Turning in my EOI ASAP! I will keep yall posted. 50% of the hurdle crossed aint it. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by snowburn: 11:38am On Oct 13, 2014 |
dailydolar: Bro, if you don't have a degree in OSH you'll surely get a negative assessment from VETASSESS; the minimum qualification to do the job here in australia is Cert IV, in fact so many jobs dey in OHS, requirement is cert IV, but for skills assessment with VETASSESS, you need a degree |

bjayzeez: Yay!!! Congrats!!! Nigerian BSc, right? Or did you add masters? Are you for 189 or 190? What's your nominated occupation? If you are for 189, you should have submitted your EOI that Friday or on Saturday....invitations rounds were yesterday (Monday in Aus), and you could have gotten your invite now. Congrats all the same!!! Stage 1 over |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by snowburn: 11:41am On Oct 13, 2014 |
Ruleogo: Keep me posted bro...i'll say you should go for it, its arguably the best Uni in Australia, or at least top 3...especially in Sciences and Tech |

bossladyMo:boos\lady ur dey 2much abeg i need to c u in person to really say thank u. from what u said she has been in dat position for like 4-5yrs.but all in all like 10yrs working experince which can be backed with relevant document from the company but my problem is that the company na all dis our onw man biz here in ph but they r into oil and gsa services like fabrication, corrosion control, man power supply to Shell, agip and total and dey dont have a very good structure wen it comes to salary payment os most time dey always pay dem by hand or give cheque which she most time pay to my FBN company account 1 Like |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 12:00pm On Oct 13, 2014 |
dailydolar: Let her just stick with the 4-5yrs experience. State nomination does not care if you have 55 or 85...as long as you meet the minimum score of 55. Also, for that corporate services manager, she will need an average of 7 in each band, to meet SA nominstion requirements...........well, she already needs 7 to get a 10 anyways. It's really dangerous claiming points for work experience that you can't support with adequate documentation. Does she have tax documents? The cheques she is paid with, does it carry her name or yours? Does she have payslips? She needs to have at least 2 out of the above 3. Cos if the CO is not convinced, you could lose your application and fee....and for a family of 5, we are looking at about 8k dollars or so. If she does not have enough evidence to back it up, you guys can go for the 489 visa. It's a provisional visa that leads to PR after spending 2yrs in a regional area, and working for 1 yr. It gives you 10 pts extra, and will bring her points score to 60. Although, you won't be entitled to medicare and childcare benefits, until you are a PR. It follows the same procedure as 189 and 190. |

Ruleogo: Yes go for it, but have it in mind that it may get really competitive as UniMelb is one of the top Unis here. I would suggest that you apply to 1 or 2 more Unis as alternatives. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by bjayzeez: 12:27pm On Oct 13, 2014 |
dont mind me o, I havent submitted I was busy dancing away in a friends wedding on saturday..... Im working on the EOI at the moment, hopefully make the next one in 2 weeks. I submitted my MSc docs too, from the UK, but Im sure Nigerian BSc only, or BSc MSc would fly too. I intend to apply 189, Im not sure tho. I like the sound of 190, the nomination bit, but someone mentioned that getting nomination may be a little bit tricky ...dunno Nominated occupation is geosciences, available in the SOL and CSOL. I learnt after positive assesment, the chance of things going south is a bit low? Also, that it should take approx 4 months to get it all sorted ... Your 2 cents? bossladyMo: |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 12:57pm On Oct 13, 2014 |
bjayzeez: Getting nominated isn't hard at all...I got nominated in 4days by QLD. 189 gives you more flexibility on where to stay in Aus, but 190 is faster. I also got a positive assessment with a Nigerian BSc. Once you have a positive assessment, and have proper documentation to back up your points claims, and no medical condition, you are guaranteed. How many years work exp are you claiming? Hope you have payslips/bank statements showing deposits and/or tax documents, if claiming work exp points? |
