standupguy: I dont see it that way. I dont think the embassy intentionally keeps application times at 2 or 3 months or whatever period. I believe it depends on how inundated they are with applications and how many workers (Visa officers) are available to evaluate them. For Winter, there are fewer applicants and that's why most of their processing times during the period may seem faster than those processed for Fall. The online route, typically just cuts out delays at the VACs and other naija factors and logistics that posess that inherent "african timing" nature. I can also imagine that paper applications are eventually scanned as well and eventually evaluated on the computer, just like the online applications (I may be wrong tho, but I think it makes sense). Scanning so many docs and grouping them properly could also take time... So in essence, if anyone is just about to apply for the Winter semester (2015), I reckon you use the online application...Altho, using the paper route might take less time now sha (compared to earlier applications) because most of the prospective applicants have thrown in their applications as far back as august so this is not really a rush period for study permit applications. These are just my views sha. (Or maybe just ideas to keep me relaxed about my "late" submission, lol) All the best guys. And have a great week ahead. Cheers 5 Likes |

seems like the online application site is down. i tried starting an appliocation today and it isnt going.... please for those that have applied already did the bank sign on the statement as a means of certifying it or was there another means? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by redribs(m): 3:41pm On Oct 13, 2014 |
fxsly: having it signed and stamped makes it more authentic but I believe the visa officer also gets to verify anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter. Only my bank reference letter was vetted on. Hope this helps. |

Hi guys, I am trying to apply for a visit visa to Canada for self and my kids online and I am kinda stuck. After opening an online account for self and uploading all documents (not submitted though), I am unable to figure out where and how to upload/include my kids IMM forms and documents. Am I required to open another account for them? If yes, how do I tie the application together? Could someone please advise? Tnx. |

Frosti: Well, this is where I got my tips from http://www.wikihow.com/Reduce-PDF-File-Size Meanwhile, what's in the document? maybe you should try to screen out the less important ones if all reduction option fails... cos I'm sure you cant upload more than 4mb. no 2 ways about it. Good luck. 1 Like |

holyjacket: Hello. You will need your employment letter, payslips, bank statement, approval of study leave from the registrar's office. Most federal universities (well the old ones) insist on the lecturers signing a bond to return and teach for duration they spent studying- this is very helpful as it is a very strong hometie and a letter from the scholarship awarding body. if your scholarship was full you would require only the above. Since you say you have little money in your account please get a sponsor with a good SOA. this is for the 2 years not accounted for by the scholarship. the sponsor should write a supporting affidavit or letter to the effect that he/she will handle whatever the scholarship doesn't cover. He/she can add docs of properties owned. A letter from your current HOD or Dean to the fact that the area of your proposed study is lacking in the department though not essential will help. If your supervisor in Canada can write a letter of support on your behalf it will help as well. Prayer. very essential and will help a great deal because the race is not to the swift.... all the best. 1 Like |

Hello guys, I smell a rat oooo. Pls someone I knw has been pursuing this Canada stuff (trying to relocate to Canada) after some huge amount of money collected by d so called agent and nothing has been heard, the agent is now on hot seat to bring back d cash. Only yesterday d agent asked the aspiring Canadian(lols) to get a paper and stamp his fingerprints on d paper and send to him. Now who does that? Do you do fingerprints on ur own at home? I guess its scam but fellow nairalanders help me out. Have u guys heard of this before? Pls waiting for response |
