dagbenga: It's KNEES Sir not KNEELS. Even if you check the internet, the only sites where it is used are Nigerian sites. You know why? Because it's "Nigerian English". Some words are grammatically wrong but due to constant usage, now sound right. Same goes for the word opportuned. You won't find these words in trusted dictionaries. Learn to accept simple corrections, it's not a sign of weakness. It will help you. 3 Likes |

It is a must for me to comment on this topic. When I was in SS1, we were asked to write an essay and Been a Yoruba Girl and I always Hear the word "Akoba" or in shortened form as "Koba" i.e. to Implicate someone.....so In the course of writting my essay assignment, after writting a Few Lines, I just wrote it there that.... and this can "Kobalise" them. Instead of writting, .....And This can Implicate them.... I was Really Disgraced in the class on that day by my English Teacher....It was an Unforgetable Experience for me 1 Like 2 Shares |

@ OP: I mean no harm, but would love to know the schools you attended and what part of the country you schooled in. Maybe it would help me understand you better,on how you think someone would think these words are English words. Whosoever thinks these words are English words, must have had a very very poor standard of education or,probably grew up in the village. Majority of the words there are pidgin. Moreover, try and understand that people are not so daft and dull. You'd be shocked to know that a lot of people know that there's an English word called "akin". |
