What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul?

Faith?I lost faith the day i realised the movies about Jesus during the Xmas season were just that..make believe,i must have been like 6 years..100mil? Free money..

All those Michael Angelo commissioned portraits that were used to paint a different picture of reality of the hijacked Christianity by pagan Rome. The pictures that are still making a complete mess of Blackman's mind till date.

And your namE na joseph abi u for change your name to lucifer
So because am not a christian am now to call myself Lucifer?. This is the kind of blind dogmatism am talking about. You should know joseph is also an English name.

Do you even know the meaning of Lucifer?. Go and know the genesis as well as the intricacies of your religion.

God id God anyway, be it that the person is charitable and of good conduct to the core doesn't really qualify the person for heaven totally, unless he/she accept Jesus as him/her personal saviour, there is getting to heaven. ''Jesus is the way to the father, no man cometh unto him except through him'' - I roughly quote from the bible. An instance is that of Cornelius , God .saw his good works & also knew he won't make heaven if he did accept the faith and become a christian, that's why he made sure he connected him with Peter for prior conversion. Being a fluent Igbo speaker in Kano won't earn you anything, but in Imo, amidst your fellows, it sure would earn you respect, compliment, praises the least.
i can see your point of view as a true Christian. But my question to you is; what will happen to millions of Jews that re Judaism in faith, that did not believe in new testament according to their sacred book TORAH? And don't forget that they re the chosen race which can not be denied by me and you. Religions re there to guide mankind according to each person faith, is not a seal to heaven or hell or the otherside. It only ur goodwill that will determine ur next journey after death.

Come to think of it, many Nigerians are willing to use their mother, father and loved ones for rituals in other to make money, I see no reason whatsoever why this same Nigerians won't gladly denounce their faith for 100million naira.

"[quote author=simpleseyi post=27114610]Which faith are you people talking about? You are a Christian only because you are born in Eastern Nigeria or in Western Nigeria or in Europe or America. If you were born by parents who are Sokoto indigenes, you will be a Muslim today.

If Pope Francis was born in Saudi Arabia by Saudi indigenes, today he will be a Muslim. Also, if the king of Saudi Arabia and the Sheikh of Qatar were born in Owerri by Catholic parents, today they will both be staunch Catholics."

I disagree with u on this. It gets to a point when you realise that its nt juz right bc ur parents tld u it is. You get to that point when you want/need to know whether it is what they tell u it is. Christianity has gone beyond being a religion, it is a faith. At 16, I left my grandma who instilled basic christian ideologies and morals in me, and then i lost my way. Why? Because i didnt know that God. It took my some years before i finally understood why. Then i seeked HIM, and then HE found me, and now we are friends, HE is my father, and i am HIS son. And am not even grateful to my granny, why? Because she didnt lead me to JEHOVAH, HE found me, and changed my life, gave me life, gave me hope, and not even a billion dollars could make me leave HIM!

"And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." (Mark 8:34-38).

Well I would like to believe that I will not denounce my faith if offered that kind of money BUT u never know until u are actually faced with d situation. I'm looking at this with the same as "if yr life were in danger, would u denounce yr faith"? Your answer shd be d same for both scenarios, methinks.

you seem so prepared to paint GOD as the villain he isn't. Our earthly fathers punish us for little or no reason at all, and we dont disown them, yet we are ready to tear down at GOD, who, despite our sins and shortcomings didnt mind seeing HIS only son being crucufied for the sins your fore-fathers and mine so gladly committed. All HE is asking for is a chance in your life, our lives. Is that too much of a father to ask of HIS children?
FOR GOD SO LOVE THE WORLD!!! If the world would only reciprocate that world.

The wages of sin is death, and all sinners shall not go unpunished. Satan the devil, and his cohorts have done alot of evil to and in this world, and for them has the lake of fire been prepared. Am sure you are not against justice, or are you?

These religious bigots are just over the whole place. The whitemen brought their religions to colonize us. Imaging so-call Christian missionaries capturing our fore-fathers, chaining them down and transporting them to whiteman's land to work as slave. And you call them missionaries of God. The same way Usmand Dan Fodio waged war in the North in order to capture the North in the name of Islam even when Northern Nigeria by then was already practicing Islam. The whitemen came to tell us that our gods are evil and their god is good, yet the God the exported to us killed more people in the Bible and the Quran than the people all our gods (ogun, sango, obatala, oya, amadioha, okija e.t.c.) put together have been accused of killing.

I am a Muslim because I was born into Islam, my wife is a Christian because she was born into Christianity. We are happy together. You all practice one religion or the other because you were born into it. How many of us researched into all the religions of the world before concluding that the one you currently practice is the best. You cannot just have idea about one thing and say that it is the best in the world, until you compare and contract it with all others. ogun and sango worshipers are living peacefully with each other and you tell me that Christians and Muslims that are also at each others throat are better than ogun and sango worshippers.

simpleseyi, enlightening dumb Nigerians since 1960.
Post like this makes me still believe that all hope is not lost after all.
Nice one bros!!!

life started in the garden of eden as they said. the only creator as they claimed was busy manifesting himself only to those who were living around then garden. forgotten that his children are diverssing all over the world. he allowed them to be worshiping idlea as they claimed and allow some to be ignorant of their origin. he have his beloved ones only in the country or region where then so called garden was. now some white men from Britain now came to notice that there are some black men down there in Africa whom they believed that they can manipulate by putting fears into their lives by Telling them that their grand and fore Fathers are all burning in hell because they could not got to the notice of one Jewish and Arab man whom only through him you can get to heaven.
I am a proud agnostic. never be ashamed of your faith.

if I should after some analysis and realised that what my fore Fathers believed in was just superstition, what then will stop me from realising that what those Jewish and Arab men came with are not also superstition
