The whitemen brought their religions to colonize us. Imaging so-call Christian missionaries capturing our fore-fathers, chaining them down and transporting them to whiteman's land to work as slave. And you call them missionaries of God.

re-examine history once again. The slave traders, like any other trading business did that and not the missionaries. the only thing you may say is that the traders may profess one religion or the other that they did not practise in its real sense, but basically, they were not missionaries.

ogun and sango worshipers are living peacefully with each other and you tell me that Christians and Muslims that are also at each others throat are better than ogun and sango worshippers. [/quote]

It's the muslims at the throat of christians.

These religious bigots are just over the whole place. The whitemen brought their religions to colonize us. Imaging so-call Christian missionaries capturing our fore-fathers, chaining them down and transporting them to whiteman's land to work as slave. And you call them missionaries of God. The same way Usmand Dan Fodio waged war in the North in order to capture the North in the name of Islam even when Northern Nigeria by then was already practicing Islam. The whitemen came to tell us that our gods are evil and their god is good, yet the God the exported to us killed more people in the Bible and the Quran than the people all our gods (ogun, sango, obatala, oya, amadioha, okija e.t.c.) put together have been accused of killing.

sango worshippers.

you seem so prepared to paint GOD as the villain he isn't. Our earthly fathers punish us for little or no reason at all, and we dont disown them, yet we are ready to tear down at GOD, who, despite our sins and shortcomings didnt mind seeing HIS only son being crucufied for the sins your fore-fathers and mine so gladly committed. All HE is asking for is a chance in your life, our lives. Is that too much of a father to ask of HIS children?
FOR GOD SO LOVE THE WORLD!!! If the world would only reciprocate that world.
Yeah yeah yeah... Mind you, no earthly father will willingly throw his son or daughter into the lake of fire, despite whatever sin he or she might have committed.

A more engaging question would have been:

What can make you denounce your faith?

if my dad could denounced Amadioha which was passed to him directly from his grand parents who knows our origin very well just because he saw some white British men who gave them clothes and mirrors.
what them will stop me from denouncing the white men faith now I got to realise that the so called Israel are not even Christians. not to talk of the so called British folks who now come again with gay marriage. if Nigerians should accept that they were worshing devil before Christianity came through the Britain. what thenvstops them to accept that gay marriage is right since it claim from the same britains again.

i see you have made up ur mind. But tell me, if were to decide what form of punishment to be mete out to the person who has caused so much pain and suffering from the begining of time, all the deaths, wars, voilence, destruction humanity has seen. Who, persistently kept up with this acts, despite the numerous gestures of reconciliation offered to him by his maker. Knowing that no physical pain can hurt him. How will you have him punished? What would be ur sentence?

The world has reached a place where every church goer is called a christian. For clarity's sake, that is far from what it is. The people Antioch were the first to use those words, and their reasons were not far-fetched. They saw the disciples act, behave, talked practically and exactly the way Jesus did, the did as He (JESUS) did in His lifetime, short of words, they (the antiochs) decidedly addresed them (the disciples) as Christians, why? because their lifestyle was examplary of Jesus'.

98% of the people in this world do on daily basis for amounts less than 5% of that.

A pastor that collects and pockets money from poor people while they starve has done worse. A Christian who can't stand up for the truth no matter whose horse is gored has done worse. Telling bold face lies, selfishness and greed, when you oppress innocent poor with your words and participate in jungle justice or did nothing to stop it, all un-Christlike, and whenever you find yourself engaging in any of these, you are denying your faith.

Jesus Christ didn't come to the world to give us religion (faith) he came to atone for our sins, and show us the right path to eternity. That is why no matter how hard we try no religion can or would bring peace to the mess in the world because religion is man-made.
The rift and conflict in Christendom is enough for the world, different denominational believes and practices. "Off your shoe, i cant off my shoe", sprinkle water for baptism, no you immerse for baptism", burn incense, candle, no i don’t believe in it. Etc.
Hold on to what you believe and do what is right, the son of man cometh to give to us all the reward of our deeds. we are not saved by our faith we are saved by his grace.

Faith, in the finished work of salvation.

What exactly has Christianity or Islam brought Nigeria I don't think there is any country in the world with as much population of church goers as Nigeria, with politicians organising one thanks giving or another every other sabath, yet we can argue that we have the most crooked politicians in the world!! If I could have my way, I would have every public office holder swear by their traditional deities before assuming office. Them fear juju pass God!!
