Thanks so much candy and hephzi, you both are strong and my friend appreciates you. I didn't put up a profile pic due to privacy reasons but I'll upload a pic here on this thread so you both can have an idea of what I look like and also place a face to the name xcelsia. It's actually a pic of my friend and I but I cut out her face to keep her private, I cherish you both and I want you to know that I care, I'll be there if you ever need me |

hephzi1991: Lol I remember when I had my sugery too and they come with those injections. There's this 'they have come again' look on my face. It was so funny to me too. I'm really happy for you. Stay strong , keep fighting. We love you! 1 Like |

xcelsia: You look real pretty I really appreciate your sticking to this thread. It's a pleasure having you around. Your words mean and count for something. At least let's know her name so the spiritual people will remember her in their prayers. Myself I have partly shaved my head (pre chemo look) And it's my rocking style. Although my course mates don't understand why but then I just put it simply that I'm exploring. It really hurts cutting my long hair cos this illness. Chemo is a phase that would pass and the hair grows back later. Lots of love to her.... 2 Likes |

hephzi1991: She really needs hope. Lots of it oh. I hear stage 4 cancer are often manageable and really difficult but there when there is life there is hope. Even though I have got a good prognosis and all that and I'm not slacking with treatment I still feel Depressed lots of time and at times I just tell myself stop wasting money and just live the rest of my life, a year or two or more maybe till the illness consumes me and I pass on. But then that's what depression is capable of. Since come ming treatment I less than 7 months I have spent nothing less than 650 thousand. It just gets worse. Let's all stand for each other when there's time now. |

Hi babe and everyone in addition to all you have said, may I also add that any painful or painless lumpiness under the arm is also another common symptom of cancer although a vast majority of it has nothing to do with cancer but then, it calls for special attention as to when we notice this. Cancerous cells have affinity for lymphnodes esp under the arm (axillary lymphnode) or around collarbone and because they are malignant tumours have tendencies to migrate from there to other parts of the body where they develop to full blown cancer as you may have it. It is always advisable to examine the brea.sts soon after your menstrual period ends, because your breas.ts will not be as tender and swollen as during your period. This makes it easier to detect any unusual changes. If you have stopped menstruating, schedule the yearly exam with your doctor or yourself on any day that best suits you and you can always remember. Lagusta: Ha some chemo can be pretty expensive like taxotere 130k. When my doctor wrote it for me ehn my eyes were wide open in addition with all the cannula and giving set and other drugs combination totalling 139k. I totally looked at her and said I am expected to be spend 139k every three weeks (21 days). I kept singing It all through . |

Questions women are likely to ask before or after mastectomy : * who will marry me with one breast? An understanding man, a man who understands and is well aware of all breast cancer entails. You very own true love and a man who love you for who you are and knows that you situation is very unfortunate and could happen to anyone *will I find a fulfilling partner? Of course! I believe there is someone out there made just for you and has most of the things every woman wants in a good man * how do I cope with one breast or none? Think about it some ladies have an exceptional tiny breast (no offence ) and we're born that way and coped through life . What makes you any different? Besides there are other people with abnormalities are worse than yours. About coping, buy a breast prosthesis if you can't afford a reconstruction and besides if you can afford a prosthesis make one yourself (I did the same thing). A breast prosthetic is about 30, 000. *do I keep my health status away from prospective suitors. NO. I personally don't believe in a relationship with lies as foundation so being honest is more like it. Although, I personally think this should be done after two to three dates when such person have shown interest, you don't want to kill the fire just too soon. It's then entirely up to the person to decide if you are worth being with or not(my opinion) Anyway, once the questions keep rolling I keep updating. Any other contributions apart from mine is totally welcomed. Hundred heads are better than one. 3 Likes 1 Share |
