This is not a 1957 Mercedes at all OP.

This is a 1961 through 1968 W110. It's a classic for sure but a rather mundane one in the scope of classic Mercedes. It could have been assembled in Australia, Venezuela or Germany.

This particular one shows very well, glistening chrome and perfect glass though I would love to see the dash and under the hood.

I just purchased a 1963 version in diesel that I will be converting to gasoline. My first Heckflosse and I am excited to get going once it's delivered.

Some comments hinted at speed. You don't buy classic cars for speed. You buy them because you appreciate the workmanship of days gone by when artisans assembled cars by hand and cars weren't copies made by robots. When artisans would sing each car they assembled and where if you are a lucky restorer you will find little notes hidden inside the cars by the artisans.

You buy classic cars because they are far more classier than anything you can buy today. Even the best marques of the day, Rolls Royce and Bentley still cling to designing their cars to somewhat look like the older ones.

My personal favorite of the Heckflosse models are the wagons even though they loose the fins when they do the conversion.
