An Igbo man said, I don't really know
why we Igbos, are hard core
supporters of GEJ. it's obvious that he
has failed everybody. I have observed
that Igbos defend GEJ even when his
own people (IJAW) condemn him.Have u forgotten the Nigeria governors
forum election where Rotimi Amechi
got 19 votes while Jonah Jang got
16;GEJ refused to recognize Amaechi as
the winner of the election. let's not
forget the issue of fuel subsidy, were u not happy when u bought a litre of fuel
for #65? lately, the price of gas has also
gone up. i remember when GEJ said the
price of kerosine will remain at #50, he
only said that to fool the masses
because kerosine is sold at #150. who is at the suffering end? When Sanusi
Lamido brought to limelight, the issue
of un-remitted oil fund, GEJ was quick
to suspend him from office and we
igbos,called Sanusi names, not because
he lied but because he is a Northerner. Today,we all have to pay #65 for
withdrawing from an ATM different
from d banks we operate. Nobody
criticized the present CBN governor
because he is an Igbo man. Let me ask,
didnt we enjoy using ATM when Sanusi removed the #100 charge? When GEJ
became President we were rejoicing
that a lecturer, teacher and a PhD
holder is now our President. Under his
watch,ASUU went on strike for
6months,ASUP 10 months,COEASU 11 months, the longest in the history of
nigeria. This toyed with the future of
millions of Nigerian youths . The latest is
the $9.3m scandal, Do you know it is
about 150million naira? wonder why
such cash will be moved out of the country in the era of "cash less
society".when did South Africa become
experts in production of fire arms, why
didn't they go to Russia etc if they
actually wanted to buy fire arms?
Another 1billion $ loan was approved to fight the boko-haram. Down to Igbo
land, what has GEJ done? Enugu to
Onitsha road and Enugu to
Porthartcourt roads are nothing to
write home about. Just because
election is around the corner,he remembers 2nd Niger bridge. Talking
of Igbo presidency, an Igbo man
cannot become president under PDP in
2015. though PDP use zonning system
to pick their presidential candidate,but
the zoning is between North and South and not between all the 6 geo political
regions as many of believe. So what it
implies is that after GEJ, the zoning will
shift power to the North. shortly after
2011 elections, on 1st january
2012,GEJ talked about removing fuel subsidy, saying that he wants to use
the money to build refineries, till date,
Nigeria is still importing refined
petroleum product . He is yet to build a
single refinery . In case u don't
know,The present govt is planning on total subsidy removal on petroleum
product , meaning nigerians will have
to pay about #190 for a litre of fuel .
Just as He did in 2012 after winning
in2011, he may also give us a surprise
on 1st jan 2016 if he is re elected in 2015. Keep sentiments apart and rate
the present govt, u will see that GEJ has
failed us.Let's vote him out.. Can u
remember WAI (war against
indiscipline) in Nigeria? Can u
remember the man that introduced WAI in Nigeria? Godbless u all.

Re: PDP Welcomes Buhari To Presidential Race: Faults His Claims On State Of The Nati by Nobody: 1:48pm On Oct 16, 2014
kasiem:
The Peoples Democratic Party is pleased to welcome to the 2015 presidential contest, the former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari who declared his intention today, Wednesday, October 15, 2014.

While we congratulate and wish him well in his ambition, we have noted some distortions and misrepresentation of facts in his speech and consequently wish to put the record straight.

According to General Buhari, Nigeria was generating 4000 mws of electricity in 1999 but has today fallen short of that capacity under the PDP.

However, the fact remains that as at May 29th 1999 when PDP took office, Nigeria was generating 1600 mws. We urge Nigerians to fact-check on this. Corroboration of this figure can also be sought from the World Bank, the IMF and multiple other authoritative sources.

In contrast, it is common knowledge that under the transformative leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan, Nigeria now generates 4568 mws of electricity; a triple of what was generated in 1999.

Again, General Muhammadu Buhari stated that a growing economy which the PDP inherited in 1999 has been destroyed within 15 years in office. This also does not represent the reality on the ground.

The fact which can be verified from the hand-over notes from the military as well as from the World Bank and IMF is that Nigeria was the third largest economy in Africa in 1999, behind South Africa and Egypt. The nation was also rated number 48 in the world, our Foreign Reserve at $3.6 Billion while our foreign debt stood at $36 billion.

However, it is incontrovertible that in the last 15 years of PDP leadership, especially the last three years of dynamic and purposeful administration provided by President Goodluck Jonathan, Nigeria's economy has become the largest in Africa and the 26th largest in the world. Similarly, our Foreign Reserve is now over $39 billion dollars, and our foreign debts reduced to less than $7 billion from $36 billion.

Besides, General Buhari also told supporters that Nigeria’s agricultural sector has gone down under the PDP, a statement which also does not reflect the reality on the ground.

Verily, the fact remains that in the last 15 years under the PDP, indeed, the last three years of vigorous application of the Agricultural Transformation Agenda, there has been an unparalleled government input in agriculture, thereby pushing production to an all time high. Moreover, Nigeria food import has reduced from N1.1 trillion in 2010 to N684 billion.

While we understand that the APC is hell-bent on using every opportunity at its disposal to discredit the PDP in quest for political control, we urge their handlers to always cross-check their facts and stop making mockery of respected Nigerians in the mould of General Buhari.

Finally, the PDP again welcomes General Buhari into the presidential race and hopes that in the future, he will not allow himself to be further embarrassed in the course of his campaign.

Signed:

Olisa Metuh
National Publicity Secretary

Sometimes I really wondered if people understand the word "CHANGE"? Who is talking about the north coming to power? Who is interested in just our president is from the south-south, and as such he must continue? Who is worried about if it either Buhari, Goodluck or Fashola? Who among the people doesn't reason that for a system to work well, you continuously need a change? Guys, just think about more of the developing countries, even with their comfort, they still agitate for a change, just a small change! & that is what makes politics even the system of government more interesting. Nigeria need a change, we all cannot be dummy. It doesn't matter if it is Labour party or APC or Accord party......all we need in fairness is a change from the ruling PDP party for a new parry to demonstrate their own agenda and idea. Situation whereby you find the same party been clinch to power even been desperate to let go off power, then it means there's a lot covered under the blanket. Let the people decides, whatsoever be the will and decision of the people should be respected. We all must agitate for a change. Changes is the only thing that make things better and interested. APC is for a change.
We will have a change when we are presented with one, but not apc and definetly not Buhari. For now let GEJ ride on for the nxt 4 years I think there will be added changes to the ones of past 6yrs, and by the time he will hand over in 2019 to a young and vibrant president, we will be glad we allow the transformation being done nw

Buhari stated that a growing economy which the PDP inherited in 1999 has been destroyed within 15 years in office. This also does not represent the reality on the ground.
If Metu does not know that Nigerians are economically worse-off now than in 1999, he's the one been economical with the truth.

However, it is incontrovertible that in the last 15 years of PDP leadership, especially the last three years of dynamic and purposeful administration provided by President Goodluck Jonathan, Nigeria's economy has become the largest in Africa and the 26th largest in the world.
This doesn't make any sense to people who have been affected by the poor income distribution in this administration. Jonathan taking glory for making Nigeria the number one Economy in Africa! What exactly did he do than rebasing?
I've been virtually to all the States of the Federation -including FCT- in the Last 3 Months and I've met, and sometimes overheard people complain of this regime! What do they complain about most? Economic hardship! The few people who supports him are doing so based on sentiments.
People are longing for a change and that's the reality on ground.
For God sake, we were generating 1600mw in 1999 and still stuck at 3000 mw after 15years? How long shall it be to get to 30000mw? SMH

The buck still stops at the FG table who programmed the discos to fail. The discos are making money from inefficiency and do not need to perform better. Tell your government to create laws that'll protect its citizens from extortion from the Discos. The billing rates has doubled in less than a year, the maintenance fee is now N850 and N650 for metered and unmetered consumption respectively. What are they maintaining? As far as electricity distribution is concerned, most people still buy their transformers, erect poles and even do the servicing from their own pockets. All the discos do is bring bills. Nigerians don't get value for their money.

2 days on 1 day off, lucky chap, so what're u complaining about? Question u should be asking is Back in 1999 or 2009, was light more constant in your estate? Is it better or worse now compared to them, give us the GOD honest answer then we can analyse from there. In my area in lagos, there wasn't even a transfomer back in 1999 so 12 hours of light per day today is a vast improvement.

It seems most posters replying here have missed the main point. Is this hasty rebuttal, above everything else, not illustratively indicative of how the PDP is very scared of Buhari? when they have a rebuttal for Buhari's 'outdooring' speech even before the General finished making it, can APC supporters not see the big picture to discern what matters instead of coming here to engage scared TANdroids and Jonathanians in senseless back and forth? Think people, think !!! Buhari is acting like a President in waiting and the PDP, with their actions and full attention focused on him completely , are showing they are fearful this is the case also.

Does the speed with which this rebuttal appear not show a fearful government that has ordered all its sycophants and expensively paid 'mouthpieces' to watch exactly and obsessively what Buhari says and does so as to find a way to counter any possible 'damage' the same way most football managers facing Messi may obsessively watch tapes of the maestro footballer so as to devise a way to stop him?

Can we also not see that the PDP is not a serious ruling Party? Rebuttal for Buhari's presidential declaration speech ready in seconds after the General finished talking yet weeks before anything was said about the disappearance of the Chibok girls while years after the shameful event no single fuel subsidy scammer has being brought to book !!!! Think well-meaning Nigerians and see what you need to see !!! The evil looters who want things to remain as they are, so the looting can continue, are already at work. It will be up to all of you to raise your game and see/note what matters.

PDP didn't just make a speedy rebuttal, they also wrote buhari's lie choked speech for him that is why they had ready made rebuttals before the end of the speech infact buhari is a PDP sponsored candidate.
