Abeg, stop sounding like a kid. what chance will that be? Don't tell me you are referring to the time when ojukwu believed it's the right time to take his people out of nigeria? would you have prefer us to suck up to ojukwu and his ragtag BLF?

That is simply why you ibos hate yorubas so much because somehow your fathers convinced and indoctrinated you lot that, were it not for the yorubas, ibos would have been the one dominating the country, now.

Were it not for you greedy ibos, there will have been no Nigeria in the first place. Its on record that both the sardunna and Awo were against nigeria except Zik and his fellow myopic greedy Igbos.

Betrayal ke? who and when did yorubas betrayed ibos? Do i need to remind you of how ibos betrayed your coalition partner in the first republic, killing their leaders (both military and civilian) whilst sparing yours?

what greater betrayal could there be?

this is a silly thread. All Nigerians should be collaborating together. How can we move forward if we cannot leave tribal sentiments out of our politics.

Awo was the lord of Zik, Soyinka the lord of Achebe, OBJ and Adekunle the lord of your sissy, cowardly, village square wresting lord calling himself warlord, Ojukwu.

By extension, Tunde Salam is your lord too, so mechuonu gi and stop lying about being your foot mat. have you forgotten you are his slave. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Sheath your sword bro, as a descendant of a powerful tribe, you need not compromise your status by involving youself in vague altercations, preserve the value of your ancestors by observing the act of Silence and Indifference to external aspersions.
Also note, that the even Encyclopedia Britannica testifies to the fact that your ancestors NEVER involved in war of words with other ethnic group as they are ardent believer of Action. Let me give you few instances.
The Nupe are fewer today due to the destruction they suffered from the hands of the Yoruba army (circa 1430 AD) simply because they were not able to control their mouths (they insulted the Yorubas and called them cowards had the guts to invade the oyo empire) they are very aggressive and ruthless

the mistake most yoruba dudes make is to believe that igbos hate yorubas.....far from it....igbos have their reservations about yorubas.....but it is not hate....if most people have their eyes wide open, they would know who the igbos don't really like....not because its natural, but because of atrocities committed against them....how yorubas got into the picture beats my imagination......would have preffered if the SW stayed out of the war in 1966.....but why they took part is baffling to me.......even though the igbos knew who their enemy was,the yorubas spoke about the war like as if they actually had a score to settle with the igbos.....and the so called enemy, showed their hatred for igbos through actions.....which we saw and over came.....one good thing about the war was that it gave the igbos the opportunity to know who was a friend or foe....

@ ist bolded......................Do we look like we give a damn if you ibos hate us or not? Have you ever heard anyone describing you ibos as "Yoruba hater"? Hell no....................'cause ati wo fila mawobe. We don't reckon with you guys. You call us all sorts of names, proliferate social media with sheer propaganda about yorubas i.e yorubas are...........yet we allow you to stay in our lands making a comfortable living which you used in helping your poor folks back in your mud caves.Something you can't do in the north.

Na today the northerners don dey commit atrocities against you ibos, ni? They slaughtered you ibos in 1945 and again in 1953 yet it was only you ibos who still wanted to form a country with those who have unambiguously express the hatred they arbor for your kind. You were so eager to forming a country with the northerners that you even throw out the suggestion that a secession clause should be included in our constitution in case one group want to opt out of the republic.

How are we expected to stay out of the war when ojukwu had already "liberated" (sic) the mid-west region, another neutral region in the war and his rag-tag Biafran Liberation Front was already in Ore on their way to Lagos to liberate yorubaland.

If it's still confounding you now as to why we fought ojukwu's BLF at Ore then it will continue to baffles your ilk till the end of their days on this earth.Nothing i say here will make any difference to your befuddled state of mind.

I grant you that- maybe we had a score to settle with your ibos. You probably thought we have forgotten how you murdered our leaders (both military and civilians) in Jan 1966 whilst shielding yours or you think we did not see your hand in the kangoroo court that you and your NPC coalition master set up to jail our revered leader and his close cabinets on trumped up charges, soon after independence?

Oh, so it took the civil war before you guys realise that the northerners were your enemy? So you had to lose 3million souls before you discern who hates you? Gosh! you guys can't be that bright. At any rate, that knowledge (of finally knowing who your real enemy is in the country) still didn't stop you ibos from sucking up to your known "enemy" in the second republic.

To be honest, the write-up did not do justice to its title; in fact, the write-up further promoted the distrust, disunity and bad-blood between the SW and SE. I would have expected the author to come up with balanced points which would make the SW and SE drop their hatchets and appreciate the reason why they need work together if Nigeria must move forward.

I am sorry to say this but the North is visibly the region which has stagnated Nigeria's progress over the decades. Unfortunately, as long as the SW and SE continue to be disunited, the north would continue to dominate and drag Nigeria backwards. There is nothing wrong in a healthy competition between 2 zones however what we have between the SW and SE is just pure foolishness. I really do not understand why these zones cannot drop their idiocy for once and see the clear writing on the wall that the north is the real opponent which they need to fight in unity.

The toxic 'federal character' policy which has been a major ingredient of Nigerian backwardness, if only the SW and SE could work together, that silly policy should have been expunged a long time ago. Also, true federalism if implemented would actually restore the diligence and ingenuity of Nigeria and Nigerians. But the last time I checked from the last national conference, it's only the north that is sitting on the realisation of this target and as long as the SW and SE continue to foolishly fight themselves for no clear reason, their real enemies (the north) would continue to have the upper hand and drag the entire nation backwards.

we the northerners ve bin strong for many yrs, did u jst call us ur real enemies, c ur fluid started a long time ago n its in ur bst interest to sort urselves, aint non of our biz. n u were talking abt joining hands to fight the northerners. u can't achieve dat even if u had allies from other countries. ur cowardness won't allow u do such. don't even think of civil war because u know hw it ll all end. next time u try ur stupid biafra stunt on us we shall render u all extinct.lmao, talking of civil war, u guys re no match with us. we ll tramp on u guys like mere chickens

Its me on this forum not them, why hurling curses at them? Young man, I don't like that, the fact that you can't hold your insult and channel it to the person concerned is your own disease not my parent's.
Your longevity does not depend on the level of respect to accord your parents only but other people's parent the holy books confirms that. The fact that I respond to you on nairaland does not give you a pass to hurl invectives at my parents.
Abi is all these more than tribal issue? If you want to prove to the world that igbos are super-humans this thread is not the right place, plus the yorubas don't care a hoot about the igbos or what they feel towards them everyone knows that. The worst you can do is to call them cowards and accuse them of being dirty, and that does not change the fact that the yorubas are good-times holders of the key .Right now as I am speaking to you my girlfriend (who is from imo state and speaks good igbo)has never even exhibited an iota of ethnic prejudice towards me in fact it was later that I got to know that she is from Imo state and that she hasn't spent up to 4 years here. Even as I speak my head is on her laps so you know what level our friendship have reached. I have a handful of easterners who are loyal friends to me. Its on this nairaland I witnessed first hand ethnic bullying, that's wrong I would say.
Henceforth you will not get the luxury of my response again even if it entails you barking from now till shekau becomes president of the USA

Let me give you an answer to this.
I represent a Noble tribe whose history, customs, beliefs, power, language, wars, culture and religion is studied in various higher institutions through-out the world, the story of their conquest and struggles both past and present is part of the few african topics written in the Encyclopedia Britannia, Encarta and other materials that offer genuine information about historical exploits of noble tribes. The Queen of England, the monarchial rulers of Europe and the Americas give credence and respect to this tribe.
Their Artworks and Clothes-style are copied my many fashion designers and serve as a source of inspiration to many young and aspiring artists and their language is widely loves and spoken by many including members of your ethnic group.
The binis (edo people)have been with the yorubas in since the time of the Ogiso king of benin (est 1300). They learnt from us, they solicit for our help in times of trouble, they borrowed virtually everything from us and was even able to pass on some to you, which includes some style of dressing and some artworks you claim to have. The binis will forever be grateful to us for taking them as brothers simply because they were humble and wanted to learn. And we will forever be grateful to them for being loyal and co-operative. There was a time the binis wanted to wage war against the yorubas over some parts of lagos state but they saw what happened to the nupes and Dahomey. Its not because they feared its simply because they fore-saw that a war with the yorubas isn't wise as the yorubas when provoked to war are reckless destroyers. They decided to appeal to our good sense and since then there is no problem with both of us.
Empires such as the English, Greeks,Roman etc are no more as pronounced as before but they can Never lost their glory due to the mighty works and ground-shaking act of theirs in world politics past and their unflinching respect of culture and custom.
Such is the Yoruba Empire and the Fulani/hausa caliphate. Of their Colossus stance over west-africa for decades, their intellectual sophistication caused by centuries of wars and political control, their struggles, their conquest, their pain, determination that enable them produce powerful figures throughtout history and the present.
I also send my respect to the efiks, ijaws, ibibios, annangs and other tribes in the south-south region of the country that have a King or tradition head.
That's a tip to educate you, and there you stand castigating whose Liberalness you mistake for cowardice, whose tolerance you mistake for foolishness, whose land your people crave to come and live on, whose language they crave to know, whose children they want to bleep.
Okay Continuu.....
You can cook-up any achivement by your ethnic group and keep hating on other tribes as long as the feeling can make you sleep at night and have strong erections and ejaculations.
