I dont really mind, but since the Yorubas has had the opportunity of 8 years at the presidency, I would want the VP ticket to go to another tribe. Also, some people may also use that to go haywire again, screaming that indeed APC has a hidden Islamic agenda.

As such, I prefer:

A former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed allegations that he was planning to impose a former Accountant-General of the State, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, as the next governor of the state.

Tinubu dismissed the allegations as part of insinuations which will be common place in an election year.

His Media Adviser, Mr. Sunday Dare, said this in a telephone interview with our correspondent, on Monday.

He was reacting to allegations by the coordinator of the Lagos based Visioners for New Lagos, Mr. Bambo Akin-Johnson, who had earlier alleged that there was a plot by the former Lagos governor to impose Ambode as governor.

Akin-Johnson had threatened that the group was determined to stop what it claimed was a clear signal that the former governor was planning to impose the former state official on the state.

In response, Dare said It’s the season of politics and an election year, such allegations and insinuations will be common place. This particular one is unfounded. Let them provide proof. He who alleges must prove.

What I recall he has said repeatedly is that development is not about religion. And that governing Lagos state is about merit, competence and ability of the candidate.
