ss than 24 hours after he formally declared to run for president, a former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, has picked the expression of interest and nomination forms to run for the nation’s highest office on the platform of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.

Mr. Buhari, who is running for the fourth time, shortly after picking the forms at the National Secretariat of the APC in Abuja, said that the N27.5million levy for the forms were exorbitant but that he was helpless in getting it reduced.

“It’s a pity I couldn’t influence this amount to be put down ‎as in the case of ladies and the disable that intend to participate. I always look left and right in our meetings but I could not read sympathy, so I kept my trap.

“But I felt heavily sorry for myself because I don’t want to go and ask somebody to pay for my nomination forms, because I always try to pay myself, at least for the nomination.

“N27 million is a big sum, thankfully I have personal relationship with the manager of my bank in Kaduna and I told him that very soon the forms are coming, so, whether I am on red, or green or even black please honour it otherwise I may lose the nomination.

“I was about to go to Kaduna this morning and I told the Chairman but he said in that case, you better pick your form and keep a straight face that means there is no excuse,” Mr. Buhari said.

In a short remark, the APC National Chairman, John Oyegun, told Mr. Buhari and his entourage that the party decided to make the nomination fees high “in order to separate the men from the boys”.

Its either we are equal or not. Why is the nomination form for Women cheaper than for men?! angry

I can understand the price for Physically challenged persons, but not for Women. angry

Why are women always playing the victim/weaker sex card selectively?! angry

GMB won't influence the process because he is a candidate, all he could do was express his concern as it borders on the nomination form like he's already done.
His capacity to effect the needed change in Nigeria in four (4) years and leave the stage for the younger generation is unquestionable.

I support Buhari absolutely!

So whats the essence of all the noise about him being the man to change Nigeria? The guy operated during a time when his words became law instantly, that's why he could do those things people say he did in the 80s.
This is democracy, Bros will have to argue and convince NAS if he wants to change anything. He will also have to contend with voices and court rulings different from his aims and directions.

Please someone should tell me how the General intends to handle these obstacles without being a dictator then I will truly believe he is the one ment for Nigeria.

Or will he just give up and flow with the tide like he just did? This is a party that he is one of the main pillars.

Obasanjo was a mumu before 1999 Election, You needed to see the way he respected all his party members in 1999,only to kick them in d asss after winning the election. Buhari is the same. He didn't do that in the past. What makes I think he would now. HAve u 4 gotten OBJ never respected court orders. U people want to come later yo say. Oh dear, had I known.

Let me get this straight. Nigerian banks is going to pay the nomination fee and who will repay it back? If he lose, there's Noway to get it back and if he wins, it is Nigerian income used to pay it back. So either way, it is a lose lose situation. This is the man they said would eradicate corruption, are you f2king kidding me? The whole time Buhari was in APC, the whole time APC was fighting PDP knowing fully well they plan on running, why didn't look for ways to raise the money? why didn't they seek for sponsors? Or better yet, most of the APC politicians are loaded, are you telling me this people cannot even raise up that amount among each other or a decent amount therefore, the whole bills wouldn't fall on the backs of the banks and the people unfortunate to bank there.

In the voice of Chucke brothers, oh dear, oh dear!.. So the criteria of being "man" is APC is amassing too much wealth?? and you are supporting the unfortunate statement of the APC chairman.

According to APC, you can only contest if you have money. See it this way, supposing that GMB (the saint who never stole government fund) wasn't able to get his bank manager to pay for his nomination form, he would have been seen as "boy" whereas, Atiku (the devil, who stole government fund) who had no problem pay the nomination form will be seen as "man".

Is APC for the rich only? What exactly is the criteria of choosing candidates in APC, money or integrity and vision?
