Wolison: Probably because English wasn't really spoken or taught in Northern Nigeria as opposed to the South. Even nowadays, a higher percentage of Northern Nigeria can read and write in Arabic as opposed to reading and writing English. Mind you, education is education whether Arabic or Western. Just that the type of education received in Northern Nigeria is usually narrow and focused on the Koran. 1 Like |

tasland:i dont agree with ur "ntin like civilization"civilization is not about structure and westi'zation.what wld u call greek civilization then?africans has bn civilize before those white came to destory our dia nation.we operate our differnt types of goverment(yoruba kingdom, hausa emirate nd igbo repb). |
Re: Great Photos Collected From Nigeria History by jantavanta(m): 7:57pm On Oct 16, 2014 |
gambus007: Very true. Africa got tired of civilizing the world and started getting "civilized" from outside. Philosophy is not indigenous to Greece (gris means grey, a mix of black & white) The first european universities were introduced into Southern Europe from Africa in 700s AD.That is how europe learnt how to circumnavigate the globe. |

borie4u:funny enough, I saw those books in a bookstore in Ibadan(holy bookshop-beere) about a decade ago...I was with my dad and couldn't get more than 2 of them. If I had money then.. I can still remember my first pacesetter: The equatorial assignment found it among my dad's books and readit until all the pages wore off. |

One of the best threads ever on NL. Op, well done. I observed how well dressed the female undergraduates were. Our morals then was top notched unlike the present society. We need to go back and learn. Good one op |
