Surely, some people are scared of peace in this nation. They probably prefer that the fight continues. God is watching you all,

The truth would surely come out someday!!

He definitely does know BH/its leadership hierachy and very much so.I also think that is supposed to be an asset but i kinda doubt Shehu Sani's patriotism;i really cant tell for sure whose side he is,Nigeria's or Boko Haram's. His support SEEMS to be for the latter.GOD SAVE NIGERIA

Sheu Sanni and Salkida can only speak for their respective factions grin grin grin grin ...............The deal is done Shikenan!!!!! cool cool cool

You guys need to reason along with daily events of things especially on this Bokoharam issue. Even if there's going to be a ceasefire, it is not now. Government need to root out this sect completely now. Unless Government wants to use the ceasefire to score a political point which is dangerous in the long run.

Why do we have to speak for Boko Haram. Boko Haram has a leader who is good at talking. They will make their position known even if they haven't reached an agreement with th FG. Must we tell them what to say by indirectly telling them what to say. These same people were the first to come out to say that Shekau was alive. No matter how much you try to make us believe that you have access to BH Nigeria will never use you to negotiate with them.

And I believe that Mr. Muktar Dan’iyar is that Mr Aye Dee of Linda Ikeji? So he is now an authority to be quoted? I won't trust anyone who doesn't know the line between Business and Pleasure

He's been in that business for a very long time. Back in the 1990s, he provided intelligence about the Abacha government to pro-democracy groups in the US. However, several pro-democracy leaders (Wole Soyinka, Anthony Enahoro, Bola Tinubu, Mobolaji Aluko, etc) accused him of being a double agent (i.e spying on the pro-democracy groups on behalf of Abacha).

In recent times, he's been providing intelligence about Boko Haram. He claims that Linda Ikeji stole intelligence that he had gathered when she copied and published his tweets about Boko Haram. Linda Ikeji denies this claim.

The more you look the less you see. Boko Haram goes beyond Shekau. Have we all forgotten that 'he who pays the piper calls the tune?'

Who is Shekau; dead or alive when Chad, a major financier of Boko Haram has called it a day? When oil is part of the deal, Boko Haram is a goner.

Now I see the reason why PDP raised no eyebrow when Ali Modu Sheriff decamped; he was with Boko Haram in the beginning, now he has to end it.

Just watch as Boko Haram fizzle out on its own.

FEATUREDNEWSOct 17, 2014

Human right activist, Shehu Sani has said that Boko Haram contact have denied knowledge of any ceasefire deal with the Nigerian government.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, an Air Chief Marshal, announced the ceasefire deal Friday and ordered all field officers to comply with the agreement.

VOA reports that the sect spokesman identified as Danladi Ahmadu and the Principal Secretary to the President Goodluck Jonathan, Hassana Tukur, as well as a representative of the Chadian governmentreached the deal at a meeting in Chad.

But Mr. Sani, known for their access to the Boko Haram group said the sect has denied knowing any Mr. Ahmadu as their representative.

“All my attempts to confirm the ceasefire deal did not produce any result. My sources are telling me that they don’t know who that person is,” Mr. Sani said.

He also said for Boko Haram to reach any ceasefire, such information must come from the leader of the group.

“Any statement that is not coming from the leader of the group cannot be said to be credible and will not be complied with by the group members,” he said.

Obviously referring to Abubakar Shekau whom the Nigerian Armed forces said is dead, Mr. Sani said “the leader is the only person they respect and listen to”

In the same vein, another source who seem to have intels on the Boko Haram insurgents group, Mr Muktar Dan’iyar has said there is no deal between the Boko Haram sect and the Nigerian govt.

“There are NO Boko Haram factions. The Boko Haram, the one led by Abubakar Shekau has not been in any negotiations nor has it signed any cease fire agreement with anybody. There are no girls being prepped for release as of now,” Mr. Dan’iyar said.

If they can be subdued then we don't need to be talking of cease-fire.

We must not give them the option of determining our peace and fredom, this is something we must take with full force.

This politics being played in Nigeria is quite sickening...the people are always willing tools, trapped by poverty and nepotism they become weak.

UN agency reports growing number of refugees as Nigeria insurgency continues

NEW YORK, 17 October 2014 / PRN Africa / -- Amid an intensifying campaign of violence committed by insurgent groups in north-eastern Nigeria, the number of refugees fleeing the conflict into the West African country's neighbouring States has steadily increased significantly, the UN refugee agency warned today.

Speaking at a press briefing in Geneva, William Spindler, a spokesperson for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), told reporters that a spike in “rebellion and terror” in Nigeria's north-eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe had produced a wave of refugees fleeing across the border into Cameroon, Niger and Chad over the past two months.

In early October, Mr. Spindler said, some 2,200 people fled the Nigerian village of Gueshkar following a “brutal” attack by insurgents who issued an ultimatum to the residents – “join their ranks or be killed.” The spokesperson added that the refugees, who quickly escaped into Nigerien town of Guesseré, reported that rebels set fire to Government buildings and ran Nigerian security forces out of town. It is the second such incident to affect Gueshkar this year.

The village of Bosso has also witnessed an influx of thousands of people fleeing the villages of Malam Fatouri, Metele, and Kangarwa in Borno State where insurgents sought to recruit up to 50 young men into their ranks.

As refugees pour into neighbouring villages, however, they are also placing a growing strain on infrastructure and “meagre resources,” Mr. Spindler continued, noting that Bosso's absorption capacity was already “overstretched.” Meanwhile, the spokesperson pointed out that the Government of Niger had requested assistance from UNHCR in building temporary sites to accommodate the new arrivals but that shelter, water, and food were still lacking.

“UNHCR and its partners urgently need funding to assist the displaced from Nigeria and the local population hosting them,” he added.

The ongoing refugee crisis has seen more than 62,000 people spill over into Niger's Diffa region since the beginning of 2014 while Cameroon is currently hosting some 44,000 Nigerian refugees. According to authorities, another 1,600 have fled to Chad.

Meanwhile, an estimated 650,000 people remain internally displaced in north-eastern Nigeria due to the insurgency.
