Some people decline sugery because of the aftermath the shock of living with one bre.ast.
Some decline sugery because of their belief.
I met someone during my visits who declined surgery cos she wanted to die with her complete body part. Wierd!

I declined reconstruction because I had a phobia of having the cancer return to the affected br.east. Which happened even without reconstruction. I had a recurrence.

then stuff in a pot and boil. Then I sip while hot. My goal is to take 3 teacup in a day but I have only managed in taking one lol

An understanding man, a man who understands and is well aware of all breast cancer entails. You very own true love and a man who love you for who you are and knows that you situation is very unfortunate and could happen to anyone

*will I find a fulfilling partner?
Of course! I believe there is someone out there made just for you and has most of the things every woman wants in a good man

* how do I cope with one breast or none?
Think about it some ladies have an exceptional tiny breast (no offence ) and we're born that way and coped through life . What makes you any different?
Besides there are other people with abnormalities are worse than yours.
About coping, buy a breast prosthesis if you can't afford a reconstruction and besides if you can afford a prosthesis make one yourself (I did the same thing). A breast prosthetic is about 30, 000.

*do I keep my health status away from prospective suitors.
NO. I personally don't believe in a relationship with lies as foundation so being honest is more like it.
Although, I personally think this should be done after two to three dates when such person have shown interest, you don't want to kill the fire just too soon. It's then entirely up to the person to decide if you are worth being with or not(my opinion)


Anyway, once the questions keep rolling I keep updating.

Any other contributions apart from mine is totally welcomed. Hundred heads are better than one.

kudos for this write up, at one point in time, every breast cancer survivor has been bothered by these questions

Had a lumpectomy some few months later and the histology results came as a benign growth.

I still feel this apprehension like I need to go for further tests and with this month being breast cancer awareness month and all. Pls do you guys know where I can do a mammography? I'm currently in Oyo State.

Please. I do not want to lose my Mum to cancer.

keep praying for her, I still believe in the power of prayers. She should be given chemotherapy before surgery, that will destroy some of the cancer cells and kind of shrink it to an operable size. I knw she has probably given up on living that's why she is rejecting treatment, its must be very difficult for her so try to encourage her, be thr for her and most importantly donot force her to do what she doesn't want to do. Again do not stop praying for her. It is well with you

I hate that stuff, my mum forced me to take it cos she heard of its potency too. Not taking it again tho.

I would also love to say a diet very rich in fresh fruits and vegetables is very helpful.
Also avoiding sugary stuff(by sugary I mean refined white sugar), canned foods and generally processed and preserved foods.
Drink lots of water too and excercise frequently to sweat off toxic substances from ur body.

no, reconstruction doesn't cause recurrence.
No doctor will ever give you the assurance that chemo will take care of recurrence. I have asked these question several times from different doctors and I always get the same answer, UNCERTAINTY. Its always a 50:50 chance that it will reoccur or it won't depending on the stage tho.

Yeah, my day was okay. My team (Chelsea) won, so m happy.

As for your friend, it's normal keep encouraging her and m sure with time she'll get past the frequent moody state especially when she starts to see the positive side of life again.

its being two years then. You should take a mammogram or needle biopsy. See a doctor.
