Oshe. Assignment grin

Anyway some people post schools that they intend to apply to in order to check if they're red flags.

You could do the same after you've searched the Internet for your research interests.
I believed that any university that is authorize to issue I20 must be a credited university and not a red flags ok

Hello Nairalanders. Please I wanna know the status of these schools: western Kentucky and university of north Texas. Are they red flags? Thanks.
They are not. Both schools are good. But go to the Embassy with University of North Texas' I-20 and thank me later:-)

That's not true. Some schools are only there for business and that's why VOs don't want it. As a result, they most applicants with CC stuffs. While some are lucky to get their visas. Teach me how to fish and would fish by myself. That should be the notion here. In God We Trust:-)

Sorry for the late response, bro. I just got access to the internet, hope it is not belated. Mail me for further clarifications.

1) You need to get a mastercard from your bank if you do not already have one. I used gtb and I heard access works fine too. Also, activate your internet banking (the bank will direct you on how to do this).

2) Open a paypal account and register the mastercard with the account on paypal.

3) Get your account verified: This will prompt you for a four-digit code which you will have to get from your bank statement. Paypal sends the code to your account to ensure that you own it. To retrieve the code, you need to access your transaction details on your bank statement using the online banking medium.

4)Thereafter, open an account on ets if you do not have one already. Register all the details required and proceed to payment. To pay, you choose the 'pay with paypal' option.

You should have at least thirty five thousand naira in your account to do this. The exam costs 195 dollars but the bank would deduct 2200 naira for token if you are just using internet banking for the first time.

Thanks for the information. Did you use your Gtb token for this whole process?

Is it only gtb that allows u open PayPal account? N does it work with only master card?

UNT isn't a red flag and it is a good university to attend and there are quite a number of Nigerians there both those who grew up in the USA and those who came from Nigeria.

must the bank statement cover the whole fees for the program or just the first year?

also for an MS program, if 30 credit hours is required, can this be completed in 3 semesters?

Are there 3 working semesters in a term or 2?

please help.

Please, a quick question:

When school asks for high school transcript and for the fact that schooling in the 90s may not be kept on any record anymore, what do you send?

Thanks!

Regarding semesters, it depends on the school you are applying to. Some universities run 3 semester i.e fall, summer and spring, some do 2 i.e spring and fall, while students are allowed to take extra courses in the summer months.

Not sure you will be allowed to take courses meant for fall/Spring in summer.

Yea you can finish in 3 semesters provided you can cope with maximum credit for each semester. But you have to take few credits in one summer.

Chukwumahike:

RED flag schools are the schools that have a slim chance of procuring a visa, and also have a bad reputation in the embassy, like students being denied (with a red flagged school).
Though people being able to defend their selves well by answering the whole lot of bombarded and cumbersome questions by the VO would still be able to get their visa (its all about packaging), but people who get their visas with RED flag schools I'll say are considered "lucky".
some people here procured their visas with CC's but never the one building school like DEVry, Everest ... E.t.c
I'll advice you shouldn't go with a CC I-20 to the embassy nor the one building schools, just go with a normal university I-20.
But if you wanna go on with CC's I-20 just package yourself well and be able to answer the VO's question in all ramifications

RED FLAG SCHOOLS ARE:
CC (community colleges)
And the one building schools like I mentioned above.

GREEN FLAG SCHOOLS ARE:
Federal universities
State universities
Private universities e.t.c

High school "transcript" for students mostly from West Africa is requested from WAEC which is more of a final high school grading. It is just more common that other countries have no unifying exam body like we do and are able produce individual student transcript. You might wanna probe more from the requester about sending a WAEC verification/transcript. This is from what I've jammed also in the past, and my school wrote "high school transcript sent directly from WAEC for students from so so so countries".

This is hard.
I think getting to the school or sending waec might suffice.
You could mail the school and tell them about the leaving certificate which covers the high school years since it's issued by the organizing body for secondary education in Nigeria.

Something along that line because getting it from your school might be extremely cumbersome

@babalola and edbid,

Thanks. I also guess it's waec result that equivalent to high school transcript.

@thread members,

More info is needed from those who have fulfilled this before.
