We have never been grateful to anyone here in Nigeria, Keshi's case won't surprise me. Now everyone is typing all the nonsense he or she can, how quick it is for us to forget the MAN who brought glory back to Nigerian Football after a long "Break"....God help us. S. O. Keshi, I wish you the best in your future endevour.

'Grateful'?

Are you on crack? Was Keshi doing the job for free? Keshi was being paid MILLIONS monthly from Tax Payers money and you say people should be 'grateful' as if he was working out of the goodness of his heart.

Abeg, I don't know about you, but i owe him nothing. He got a good gig out of Nigeria. pretty good salary, national award, multiple cash gifts etc.

Maybe you should start kneeling down to thank your gateman after you pay him his salary. Nonsense.

So u r sayin Mikel is best as "10".
U r also saying no Nigerian player takes corner kicks/free kicks well.I'll tell u just one-Abdujelili Ajagun. He plays in Panathinaikos.
The player from China scored-Yes.If we want to compete wit d best,we shuld use d best.Is it not dis same Keshi that invited flavour's broda (dat guy wit dreadlocks) to d world cup team?I av guys dat play beta dan dat guy in my street.
Wen onazi got injured in d world cup,he brought in Ruben(a clubless player)....dat was a master stroke undecided

See bros,Keshi tried...he sld move on.

Wen sum1 isn't good enuff, let us talk.Na wetin dey affect us for politics be dis.

Mikel was one of the best players at the last Afcon and was in the Afcon's team of the tournament. So the Coach was right there.
Can you tell us the Nigerian set piece magician since Okocha left? Abi you want Coach Keshi to create free kick master in his lab?
A player be doing well in his club but not wellin a different strategy. Remember Martins flopped against Kenya and Uche flopped at the Afcon game.
The introduction of Aluko against Sudan was a visible master stroke. Putting Onazi as a right back to give him a chance to make his runs without creating gap in the midfied was a msterstroke. The boy from China played well and scored. Just like Mba, Coach Keshi does not need foriegn clubs to do his work.

You can pay someone for a job and he does a poor job.

Berti Vogtz was paid three times more than Coach Keshi but Coach Keshi worked harder and better.

Thatis why you thank even after paying.

Mr keshi, no gud football coach does d following:
-invite players who has not played any competitive match 4 over 2yrs and take dat same player to d world cup (ruban Gabriel)
-keeps inviting under performing goalkeeper who is a bench warmer @ his club (Gombe united) chibuike abgim
-takes match to match contract like a labourer (oguaja)
-invites players who play in Vietnam and leave out d ones in top European clubs.
Finally no serious football countries like germany, spain etc will employ a coach like u.

The Former Coach of the Super Eagles |Stephen Keshi| has thrown a parting shot at Nigerian
football, saying the country should stop seeing itself as a serious football nation considering it
is still lagging behind in many vital areas needed to attain such levels.

In a chat with ESPN football pundit Colin Udoh, the former Togo and former Mali manager noted,
for instance, that but for his intervention, the Akwa Ibom State governor was planning to lay
artificial grass on the newly built world-class Uyo Stadium. That venue will host the decisive
clash of the Super Eagles with South Africa next month.

“How many good pitches do we have in this country? Keshi queried. We say we are a football
nation and we don't even have good training pitches for the national team, or good field to play
on. Instead, there are artificial pitches everywhere, even the new Stadium in Uyo, it was when I
heard from the governor that they wanted to use artificial pitch that I had to shout and tell him no
way. That is how they used natural grass pitch there. But why should I be the one to say it? Where
are the journalists?”

He said he was proud of his achievements during his spell as Nigeria’s manager.

“People keep saying I drew a lot of matches. But how many Nigerian coaches agreed to play
friendly matches all the time. Or to use home-based players without fear but people don't see that.

Every time it's Keshi this and Keshi that. Then they say I always try to use the President against
them. President that I cannot even see!”

He also said he was happy that the drama was finally over, as was his family.

“I am not bitter. I'm just disappointed in some of you,” he pointed out, referring to journalists.
“Now people can stop talking about Keshi.”

Meanwhile, the Ethiopian Football Association, responding to reports that Keshi would be in the
country this week to finalise a contract to take over their National team, has denied ever
approaching Keshi or getting any application from him

In one sentence, keshi said Nigeria is a big joke. Sadly, he said the truth! lipsrsealed

in all honesty, i dont think that keshi is S/E problem.. though he may be lacking in some areas.. while he also fumbled in some aspect.. as expected, the eagles immediately after the AFCON were supposed to made a strong statement in the confederation's cup but failed .. by now we should not be thinking of rebuilding the team, but rather consolidating on our achievement as africa champion.

Keshi lost the dressing room when he fails to manage Ik Uche and Ideye situation properly.. he also lost it in area of players invitation.. i cant imagine the call up for players like nosa igiebor, gabriel reuben, oduamadi, egbuekwe whose contribution in the team are useless and most importantly, a good cover for the right back position which has been our bane ever since..

However, he deserve praise for his courage to make do with average players and giving a youthful set of players a chance in the eagles... oboabona, omeruo, onazi, oshanyinwa, and latest set of invitees aaron samuel, lawal and aluko..

where i think keshi lost it, is his continual refusal to work with the technical dept and his failure to admit his need of a technical adviser..
amanju pinnick is a sound tested seasonal administrator.. his choice of Amodu is very clear, bring back Ik Uche and Ideye, Iheanacho if possible, continue frm where keshi stopped, qualify eagles for AFCON and retain ur post while you will work under a foreign technical director..

I get angry wen people mention dis keshi salary of a tin. Let me ask u dis question, was it not keshi dat negotiated his salary wit d NFF? y did he not demand 4 a pay as big as dat of berti vogtz b4 signing d contract? How come we only hear keshi wen NFF does not pay, buh wen dem pay am, em park? Y did keshi to add up front payment clause in his contract like berti vogtz did? Y did keshi not stop working iif he is not been paid 4 more dan 2 months?
If he has accepted all dis n refuse to speak about it, den he should shout up and stop blabbing like a baby.

Keshi, that's not news. We know all our institutions, including sports, are in shambles. Our greedy and inept politicians and leaders have insured that. What's news is the level of technical, tactical and managerial incompetence you displayed as a coach and manager on this particular assignment.

I had highlighted your shortcomings early on after the World Cup here.

https://www.nairaland.com/1810220/opinion-keshi-should-not-given

Learn from your mistakes and become a better coach and man. Move on. Best wishes.
