We want to know how they intend doing whatever they propose.

We want institutionalised democracy hence what reforms are we expecting in the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary?

NNPC is the most secretive institution of Nigerian Government - what changes do we expect?

Labour Unions are now becoming more political than ever - what measures are we expecting to curtail their excesses?

White collar corrupt practices are now the norms, the Institution lacks absolute professional ethics - what reform do we expect?

Again, on fighting corruption, would there be any sacred cows? If No, will they (APC Leaders) prosecute and imprison themselves if ..? Will they investigate corrupt practices involving the military and political office holders from 1960?

You see, Nigeria has educated public than some politicians can imagine.

Copying good socialist or capitalist manifestos online wouldn't suffice.
This old man, you're using a gun to shoot yourself and your silly paymaster. grin

If you think darkness was the order of the day as experienced now? Why has the present government not outlawed buying petrol in jerrycans too? Quote me any day and ask those elderly enough in your home that someone educated you that during Buhari's admin. Petrol buying for domestic use was not necessary becos we never had perpetual days/months of black out. Go find out.

How could there be when ECN workers know the implication of not producing power in 2 hours. Look here Nigeria was a working country with every civil and public servant knowing the implication of failure or not meeting daily targets .

Like I said earlier never compare GMB with GEJ . It will be a big disappointment to the word competent and purposeful leaderful.

You are a bloody liar, a very pathetic one at that. Number one, it was NEPA and not ECN. People can afford today to buy gen and simply, use it till light comes back. Back in 80s, that was not possible. Only the very rich had genes at home, when the light goes out you simply use candle.

Don't bleeping lie about a paradise that never was. I was the fellow in my household, that use to carry that 50kg Jerry can on my head from the unipetrol station back home. The army was forced to provide us with gene, after my father complained about the lack of power in the cantonment.

What was funny, is the number of people that did not have light. Just starting from trade fairs in those days, you can count the houses with light at night. Through Ojo, to Okoko and places like Ijanikin(FGC and colege of edu had light) and Agbara. Even in a town like Badagry with the ibereko barracks, only certain parts of badagry had light. Places like Ajara, Ibereko, Ajido no NEPA connection. Can you say the same today?

You are a purposeful liar and unfortunately another incompetent buhari follower.

it only takes a strong metal to withstand a high temperature.

Are the EFCC and ICPC not strong anti corruption and anti financial crime institutions to indict anyone guilty? During Obasanjo's tenure, the institutions were relatively active though selective and interested.
What can be said of the institutions in this present administration?
And what do you think is the solution to corruption in Nigeria? Does it lie in electing one all-powerful individual who will whip everyone in line? And what is the chance of that happening anytime soon if it has not happened in the last 50yrs? Assuming we even achieve that by any stroke of miracle, will such a person remain in power for ever? What happens when such a person dies or his tenure ends?
What about these SYSTEMS-BASED solutions:
- Identifying loopholes in the economy and plugging them or pushing the govt to plug them using technology? This is a form of prevention and prevention they say is better than cure.
- pushing for cleaner electoral system. Leaders who are popularly elected tend to be more accountable.
- identifying factors that have made EFCC less effective and pushing for reforms that'll address them
- what about pushing for reforms in the judiciary that will ensure quicker dispensation of Justice?
- what about pushing for a less corruption prone system of govt such as true federalism where states can take charge of their resources?
- what about freedom of information and free and vibrant press?
The good thing about the measure highlighted above is that if adopted, they are independent of the person in power at any particular time and will outlive govt after govt

The events of 1983 is sad chapter, Nigeria will never go through again., Pity yourself, only a sadist and a mentally derange human being, will ever wish Nigeria, another 1983. Don't jump around, keep this thread to your mass murderer Buhari.

If your looking for people to hang mass murderer toga on, look no further than your kinsmen nzeogwu, anuforo, ifeajuna and their co-travellers in 1966.

Babangida, Abacha and danjuma were the actors of the .1983 overthrow of shagari. Like I said you guys need to start reading books to get properly educated and stop exposing your Illinformed and uneducated gibes here. The actors of the 1983 palace coup against shagari are still alive except abacha. During the 1983 coup no.mass or selective killings were recorded compare that to the stupid and ethnic driven purge that your kinsmen did in 1966.

For your information, GMB was a GOC in Jos when the overthrow of shagari happened in lagos. He was flown in to take over the reins of power being the most senior army officer. If you need more education call on me and I will gladly educate you.

You are a pathetic and illinformed liar like I said. And education with proper facts not whimped stories bothering on sentiments wins arguments.

No. 1 no institution enjoys constant power supply like the armed forces formation. 2. Electricity corporation of Nigeria was the precursor to NEPA, ECN was formed in 1951 so I know what I'm talking about, NEPA was a child formed from merger of Niger Dam Authority and ECN. So learn from those more informed than you.

The problems of electricity supply in Nigeria started towards the end of the 1980s when transmitting of generated power from the stations became an issue. The first being the 1985-1987 break down of the oshogbo national control centre due to huge power need of the newly constructed ajaokuta power and steel mills, rapid industialization across the country which was tasking on the machine mounted as far back as 1951 when ECN was formed.

I don't need stupid stories of I carry petrol on my head it sound so familiar like the I had no shoes of your president.

I deal with confirmed and responsible facts not sentiments.

Buhari's supporters are die hard realist and sound intelligent old and young men and women who have the larger interest of the country at heart not some ethnic driven jingoists

Quote me and ask those elderly in your home, Power was not a serious issue to warrant hoarding petrol in jerry cans at home during buhari's 20months in.power

Go back to your history books if google is too hard to use for you and find out who and who were the brains behind shagari's removal. The kingpins never denied it and they did same act again in 1985 by overthrowing Buhari himself.

Aguiyi ironsi became head of state in 1966 after nzeogwu's coup being the most senior military officer then, buhari became head of state in 1983 after IBBs coup being the most senior military officer. If you lack comprehension of military ethics then remain forever quiet and stop exhibiting your foolishness.

bro, i agree with the highlighted, but the concluding part, i refuse to give in!

A body in motion will continue to move unless being acted upon by a force, likewise a body at rest will continue to remain at rest unless being acted upon by a force!

Just like the erect1on of a building in a site, shall we take the uncertain future of the building if it will stand or not as a reason not to erectt the building?
What does it take to erectt the building? Fall trees, excavate roots, soils and regoliths and crush the underlying rocks to lay the foundation. These processes need very hard force. When the foundation is laid, one doesn't "really" need those forces to continue with the building only if one wants to demolish the structure.

These strong systems you mentioned won't just start overnight, they have to be kickstarted by a solid mind. It takes the command and direction of the war commandant to face the enemies during war.

During the period of Great Depression, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was voted in to save the americans, he tried his best and the legacy outlived him.
