I am well aware of our African culture and tradition, thank you very much. I once posted an expose on the famous mapouka dance and how much more sexually liberated our African women were than their white counterparts before colonialization decimated our way of life.

The truth of the matter is, that is not our mentality anymore. The sake white folk are the ones that made us realise that walking around in our palm leaves and near unclothedness was shameful. No one will do that now and be seen as a normal han being. Our parents would tell us that young men and women of marriagable age would bath together in the same stream and no one saw anything wrong in it. There were no massive rapes or molestations then either. Our morality was intact. However when the westerners came they convinced us that such things were shameful and with time we believed them. Things changed. Morality was knittes together with decency and religion. Now all of a sudden our girls are flaunting their cameltoes and all we can say is we did it before?? It was in our culture? I should accept everything western cos i'm using an ipad? What kind of warped thinking is that? Indecency is indecency!

Well. I'm just stating my opinion sha. Maybe I'm too old fashioned in my thinking but God help me I intend to raise my daughter to know the difference between being liberated and exhibiting her privates in the name of modernization.

I don't see how anybody should be blamed for the abject lack of morality in a person. Laws and constitutions have been put in place (both by the state and religion). If anyone chooses to live as they please, then by all means please blame them. We can't blame other people for our own failure all the time, it's an African mentality that needs to stop.

So I'm sitting at the lounge of a well known park and heading to Lagos. Its 6.30am in the morning and I'm thinking I should have been here earlier. I'm patiently waiting to get my ticket when this 'lady' pushes thru to the front. I glance at what she is wearing and I mentally gawk in amazement.

Its a gym workout suit. You know, the kind new-yorkers wear, extremely fitted and very tough but light fabric that leaves absolutely nothing to the imagination. Absolutely nothing. Her buttcrack is very visible and her gluteus is covered in celulite as evidenced by the subtle bumps on her posterior. The front...OK I tried really hard not to look but curiosity got the better of me and yep; the cameltoe was on easy display for all to see. The top was better off, or maybe because I'm used to seeing skimpy tops I don't really know.


Funny enough, what comes to my mind isn't that the woman is loose or how can she stomach all the stares she is receiving, or how she can't possibly know this is a gym suit and not meant for travelling. What comes to my mind is that the Westerners are spoiling us rotten. They are corrupting our minds and debasing our way of life so much that we don't even know when we are making fools of ourselves. How can a woman walk out of her house this Unclad this early in the morning with the mind that she is going to Lagos? What is wrong with her thinking faculty?

If it was in the past an elder would have gone to correct her or shame would not have allowed her expose her unclothedness like this; but now if a person approaches her the person will be told to mind his own business, its a free world, wetin your eye find go there, its her body let her do with it as she likes, it is the inward appearance that matters, the person should stop living in the 19th century, his mind is dirty, etc, the list of excuses to correct wrong when we see it is endless.

We as a people are gradually losing our identity and morality. Soon we will have serialrapists aand killers, soon we will have increased incidences of teenage suicide and morbid obesity. Porn0graphy is already fully embedded in the activities of our youths. All these things that were previously alien to our culture. As if the horrors we have are not enough.

And yet we still support the white man's values and way of life. We shout down those who try to speak up, citing their successful economy as a pass to emulate them no matter what they are doing. We are destroying ourselves with our own hands and are happy to do so.

This lady has passed by for the fifth time and almost all the passengers are looking at her. One or two guys are grinning but most of the other guys have frowns on their faces and a few women have gathered the courage to hiss but she obviously doesn't care. After all, she has been taught to ignore haters.

to be fair to our women, the climate in africa does not favour full-clothing. visit anywhere remotely close to the tropical climate we have in africa & every chic is bikini-clad. how then are our ladies immoral? what is even immoral? if you see a woman in bikini by the pool-side or lekki beach, would you say she's immoral?

Ok, we were unclad when the west came in the 17th and 18th centuries. They brought us clothes and taught us to be covered in the streets and in public. It has been the norm since over 100 years. For my grandmother and grandfather were well covered as i can remeber.

Beginning from the early 80's a new kind of nudity started creeping in in the form of tights, leggings but worn with a top that extended to the knees or laps. No one dared put on leggins with a top hanging on the wasit line or revealing the belly button. This wasn't african, it was western. Western movies and dressings were beginning to become mainstream in africa at that time with the rise of cenima.

Fast-forward to today and it is a cleavage war, butt divider completion, cameltoe display. The mystery of women is completely lost.

Nothing our primitive mothers wore reveal there butt-divider, or the exact nature and shape of their most feminine organ. Neither did when they walked their whole butts shaked and moved in the rhythm of their steps.

Today's females copy the west and have even outdone them in the madness of modernity. Yes dressing in leggings and skimpy tops is 100% western and most women who wear this are completely naked because there's nothing lost to sight except their skin colour.
