OkijaAmaka: Can your yorobass people afford quality goods when government is feeding them, cloth their children while they reside in rundown shanties of ibadam and abeokuta eating ewa oloyin and gbegiri?
Better soup na money make am, if you want better quality go to Slot he is an Igboman, if Yorubas want their standard they go to the fake shops and get what they want, everybody must not afford Slot products.

Tosin7: The Convener of the Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen, and delegate representing Kano state at the just concluded National Conference, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, has spoken out about his hatred for people from Nigeria’s South East, a region populated by Igbos.
Dr Mohammed who was speaking recently with newsmen about issues in the country could not help but make it clear that he believes the Igbos constitute a problem in the country and he challenged anyone who disagrees with him to “go to hell”
Answering questions on his recent arrest by the Department of State Security after some allegedly inciting comments from him, Mohammed said he was arrested because the Director of Operations of the DSS was an Igbo man.
“The order for my arrest came directly from the Director of Operations, an Igbo man. Apparently, he does not like anyone who says anything uncomplimentary about Igbo people and their greed. I think he was particularly very unhappy because I said Igbo have taken charge of the economy and that they have also grabbed most of the land especially for estates in Abuja where they don’t have any historical claims or any other logical claim to even one square foot of land,” he said.
Speaking further, Junaid Mohammed described the Igbos as a shameless ethnic group with “greed, selfishness and contempt for other ethnic groups”
“If saying about 42 per cent of the key positions in the economic sector of Nigeria is dominated by Igbo, if that is what they call tribalism, then I stand by that tribalistic statement because these are verifiable facts and whenever I made that statement, I mentioned names and positions and institutions.
“For example, I said the most powerful person in this country is the Minister of Finance who is in fact, the de facto Prime Minister. What it means is that she is the de facto head of government. For a person who was not elected and the legitimacy of the government that appointed her still in doubt, anybody who thinks saying this is being tribalistic, so be it. They can burn to ashes and go to hell.
“Two, I said the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria is also an Igbo person, next I said the DG, Nigerian Economic Summit Group is an Igbo man, the DG, Sovereign Wealth Fund, is also an Igbo person, the DG, Securities and Exchange Commission is also an Igbo person, the DG, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria is also an Igbo person, other ministries which are very critical to the running of the economy like aviation, are also in the hands of Igbo people. So, what are we talking about?
“Igbo remains one ethnic group in Nigeria that is so devoid of any shame to show their greed, selfishness and contempt for other ethnic groups. I said and I will still say that the first time Igbo officers staged a coup and assassinated wholesale the political leaders of most other ethnic groups was when we had General Aguiyi Ironsi as the Supreme Commander of the Nigerian Armed Forces. He was involved in the coup where the entire political leadership, the military and economic leadership of other regions especially the North was decapitated under him and he was from Umuahia.
“The next time we had another Igbo man as Chief of Army Staff was at the height of the Boko Haram insurgency and that man was (Azubuike) Ihejirika, who also comes from the same Abia State, from the same Umuahia. So, if this is what they use to call me a tribalist, then they can go to hell,” Mohammed said.

Igbos were our own worst enemies. How many people today know that the first coup was essentially stopped by Igbos like Ben Gbulie and even Ojukwu who risk his life to protect his friend Ado Bayero? Consider Ironsi's attitude of surrounding himself with "trusted" servants like Gowon and Danjuma, and you'll understand the rest of the story. Igbos needs to be united 100% this time around First of all, Junaid interview is toxic and can only be a product of a warped, deluded and bigoted mind. There are better ways to criticize GEJ's incompetence than scapegoating a whole ethnic group. That said, who were the beneficiaries of the first coup? If Igbos essentially stopped the coup, why didn't they essentially hand over power to Zana Diphcharima? How can you claim you stopped what you benefited from? To be clear, if it was essentially stopped, then it was not stopped. 2 Likes |

naijaking1: I'm not sure of his position in APC, but they need to call him to order as a national party, otherwise he would risk speaking for all of them. Why didn't you say you were not sure of his position in PDP? Did you bother to check? In your mind, he must have been an APC member, only the position is not known. What are the prospects of the newly registered APC? Well, I’m not a soothsayer. I like to base my judgment on evidence before me and when the evidence is not there or is very scanty, it is very difficult making a prediction. But let us look at the phenomenon of registering a political party, which claims that it is a progressive party and see whether it is truly a progressive party or whether it is determined to pursue progressive policies. We have to be very careful, because I choose my words with care. I want to make sure that what I call a spade is really a spade and not something else.
My understanding of the APC is simply a party being brought about by some seriously concerned Nigerians that believe that the country deserved something better. But I also believe that majority of the people in PDP are there for what to grab. This means that the purpose of the great number of the people in the APC is the same thing with the purpose of those people who formed and are now managing the PDP. So, in other words, in terms of concrete policy direction, there will be no difference between the APC and PDP. I may be wrong. When I assess a party, I assess that party based on policies and programmes.
In fact, from what was leaked out of the so-called constitution and manifestos of the APC, there are areas where the APC is even more fascistic than PDP and I find that terribly more disturbing. Because this wholesale commitment to capitalism of the worst type despite our record of capitalism from 1999 to date in my view is going to further destroy the country or what remains of the country economically. If we are serious, we have to ask what the progressive policies, which are being touted in the name of the APC are? I don’t know any. Yes, there has been noise about free education, which is a good idea. Education is the most important investment for our children. I believe in free medical services as far as possible.
But beyond that, what are the comprehensive policies, which will enable the government to use the resources of the country effectively, sensibly and make sure that those who are least able to take care of themselves are in the position to benefit to have an APC government or a government that claim to be a progressive. Secondly, performance in government doesn’t make any country or anybody a progressive. To be a progressive you must subscribe to certain basic ideas about the relationship of the government with the national economy. There is the need for people to have their basic needs met by government no matter what it takes and the need for government to take it upon itself to ensure that extremes of poverty and wealth are not allowed to exist. Because when you allow the very rich and the very poor to co-exist, that is what breed Boko Haram or militants and what have you.
As far as I’m concerned, performance doesn’t guarantee you the appellation or the nickname of ‘progressive.’ We have had this fraud coming out of the South-west throughout the history of Nigeria. Every day, they have a fascist party with socialist slogan and they say it is a progressive party. But some of us have said no; that is not what is called a progressive party and I remember very well that late Professor Chinua Achebe said several times, that the essence of the propaganda about progressive politics in the West is nothing but fraud. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/mohammed-there-s-no-marked-difference-between-apc-and-pdp/155938/ |

Land ownership is not the only thing causing disaffection between Igbos and some lazy ass/non-competitive tribes, positions in civil service was the major grouse people like Edwin Clark had against Igbos. Other reasons maybe as mundane as girl friend/boyfriend issues, education, or perceived better position in just about any aspect of life. So, you can't not say it's all about land, because not too long ago, Ahmadu Alli was quoted as calling on Igbos to come help develop Kogi state, just the way they were called to Abuja, remember? Igbos are not going to run from anybody in Nigeria again, they fought us to keep us in ONE NIGERIA, so one Nigeria it is. Forever, and ever, Amen. Just by natural selection, you know what happens to the non-competitive species. Why can't you call on yourselves, develop your region before boasting of developing other regions? That, to me, is more logical. If you looked deeper, you might actually see that Abuja was developed with petrodollars. If there is no petrodollars today, Abuja and the rest of Nigeria (with the exception of few states) would be barren economically. 2 Likes |
