It is well. So why give Visas if no entry at POE? Ha!
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Virtuousdiva: 6:34pm On Oct 27, 2014
@PetMe13......thank God for everything. Some people at that POE are just sadists..When Nigerians are saying I have 8000 dollars plus money in your card,I know say body go dey pepper them plus the eye ones that are dealing with racist issues. Some of them stay at that airport and just be counting people's declared big money and frustration will just be dealing with them.It is well.May we all have successful experiences in Jesus name.

But mehn, this story wants to make me sit my small bum bum in Nigeria. Kai!

It is well. If it were me, I would just sit down on the custom office floor and start crying. Tears no dey too slow comot for my eyes.

I even thought of asking them to send me back so I cld rest o. I pitied my daughter. U needed to c how she was crying. Those people could not even feel for her.

@PetMe13 shocked shocked shocked angry angry

I can't even begin to imagine what you went through. What da heck! You must have felt very horible and so so exhausted. How could they put a pregnant woman with a toddler through such ordeal? Detention? And same people say it isn't a crime to have your baby in the US? That's just wrong on every ramification. And to think some of these officers are women. . . Maybe even mothers. . .

And one could suffer this much and still be sent back home! Thank God you were eventually let in. It could have been worse.

I've always told myself I won't ever go through Houston as POE even if I got my visa solely for birthing. They let people with clean slate in most times but with lots of stress. Its just sad.

And by the way, when did $8000 become "too small for birthing"? Like they make that much in their miserable lives. Mstcheewww. angry

Nairaland has been a great blessing to me too..let me add my experience that's almost like tvegas..
Immediately I got preg..I contacted a woman on d island to help me on how to get a visa and I declared my reason...this woman works at d embassy o(according to info gathered)she went tru my passport and d histories are 1 visit to dubai and a visa refusal at d Dublin embassy some yrs back...and also passport expires next year Feb..
This woman said I must get the Dublin visa first and also visit before I can use my passport for applying and also I will av to wait till next year that my passport expires before I can renew it...I asked how much she charges...she said she will take 500k for helping me....
Thank God I found myself here...
Tvegas:

You are welcome to the thread. I will start by saying the days of packaging pregnancies at the POE is far gone, but a lot of people still do it. Even though the USA does not advertise Birth Tourism, however it is not illegal to give birth in the USA if you can convince the Border Officer with Dr's appointment and cash. Dont let anyone mislead you because you will hear a lot of wrong information out there.

Take my case for instance, I met an elderly friend at the American ambassador's residence on July 1st,during the independence day celebration. He is a commercial attache at the US embassy but knows nada about the birthing process. I told him about my plans to birth in the USA and he warned me not to follow wifey for her interview, that they may cancel my visa and that wife should package her pregnancy at the POE. Whose words was i suppose to believe,if not him?. Luckily i stumbled on this thread took my time to read and applied everything. Its even easier for you because you have a visa already, notify the embassy of your plan. You will be travelling by the 7th/8th month, so you have at least 2 months to read this thread and jot down all the information needed. Wish you the best.

At my POE I even cut line sef n I went in and sat down while odas were standing! Wen d officer saw me n asked y I was seating I simply told him i'm pregnant n I was feeling faint n tired after d long flight. He was visibly shocked by d way, n probably knew I wasn't in d mood too.

They get intimidated by d cash I swear! I heard them talking to themselves about money n more money coming in becos on dat line there where about 5 of us Nigerians who were there solely to declare cash over 10k.

The rascism too much o! See their big heads! Some idiot dat ordinary wud not even av opportunity to smell ur perfume from afar wud av d audacity to insult u!

Pls ladies hold ur heads up with this clowns, many of them r not better than u! Na just condition mek crayfish bend. Always have dat at d back of ur mind.

@petme, I guess the first officer is in a bad mood but we thank God for everything. I remember reading on the earlier posts of this thread where a lady categorically mentioned redirecting flights and how its been working for people. My question is that: my POE is Dallas but the address of where am going is Houston, will there be suspicious question on why I enter thru Dallas not Houston? Or do I need to get another address of somewhere in Dallas to fill at the POE. Thanks in advance.

MadameU:
Normanicole kindly go thru this thread to get the answers you seek. Have a plain sheet of paper and a pen with you. If you can go through even the first to 26th pages of this thread or read back from the last 10 you would be a consultant!
God bless us Nigeria

Madameu, i tink u have the wrong person, i did not ask any questions..i only ADVICED that people should make effort, just read even if its a few lines. I got all my info reading from page 1..and more than once. And i did not call names for those who have decided to feel insulted.

But wait. Even if your visa was issued for birth purposes, would they still harass at POE like this?

Yes! They detained a friend whose visa was solely for birthing. They let her go in the end but not without interogation and 5hrs delay.

Anyways...just kidding! There's parking space, you enter from that road that links bonny camp to muson centre road because you can't enter thru walter carrington, N500 for parking mama.

Am assuming your interview is in lagos...

PetMe13:
Poe story continued.
So I went over n sat down n raised my feet n tried to console my 2 yr old baby who was now so exhausted n hungry. Waited for about 3 hrs n walked up to the boss n asked him wen I was going to be interviewed again and my daughter is very tired n hungry likewise my sick self. He sed at mid night. Was 11:13 pm den. Sed dey had baby food. He brought boiled white rice with no salt n no sauce to feed my baby who quickly spat it out the moment d tasteless food touched her tongue. I gave her som cheerios I had in my bag but dis didn't calm her down cuz she was exhausted. Tried to make her sleep to no avail. Den he took us to a small room with some broken toys n turned on the TV, sed I cld lie on d mat on d floor n den left. waited till 12:40 am and asked one other officer cuz dey changed shift at midnight. Sed I shld wait and asked why I refused to talk before. Left to go to d restroom but d officer sed i shldnt leave dat small room with no window. Sed i was going to d rest room. Went to d rest room n came back to d room. He shut d door n sed i shld keep d door closed. About 2:30 I opened d door to go to the restroom again n he came screemx at me and shouted at my lil girl to go back in but i intervened n sed we were going to d restroom. waited n waited till 4 am. When a lady officer came n called me to her office n asked to see d price sheet from Hyunh. Asked if my hubby works in X company. Sed yes. Started chattx about how itz their biggest oil company. N she has to travel for work bla bla etc. Stamped us in for 6 mnths at 4:30 am.
Der were some 2 pregnant naija mama's who had been waiting der since mornx before I came in at 5:30 pm. One of dem was stamped in released 30 mins before me. The other was left der. Sed dey wld send her back. She even started having cramps, dey rushed her to d hospital where she spent 1500$ after which she was brought back in for detention. She sed der were 2 other naija mamas on her flight who had already been sent back to naija.
There are lots of people being sent back at poe but don't come back here to tell deir story. We just have to b very thankful for smooth poe. Dey were all Spanish people n don't allow cell phones or other electronic devices. Sometimes we may just have it hard cuz someone doesn't like u.

AM a silent reader of this forum and this my first posting after we read your story and my wife was crying but firstly An not Nigerian but i do not understand why Only Nigerians got treated this way and never made official complain because this is purely a case of molestation and gross human right abuse ,if any boarder guard treat my wife or family with this unprofessional , inhuman manner and racism ,i will call a news conference and then we heading to the court, this should not be happening in america ,a country preaching freedom and equality around the globe, nobody desire to be treated this way not even animals!!! and only insane people will treat a pregnant woman with a toddler this way despite you coming to boost their economy with your money, if many Nigerians can write and complain about your individual ugly experience and this constants harassment, the authority will read your complain and investigate this abuse or write to U.S. Customs & Border Protection
1300 Pennsylvania Avenue N.W., MS: 1345 Washington, DC 20229 United States of America or just simply write about your exprience via the online complain form

[quote author=GenoMI post=27304216]Hi @jennys, i'll also be using Dr. Soyoola and Gwinnett, traveling in December, due in january. When are you guys travelling? Though my accommodation option for now is $1,600 including feeding and transport. I wouldn't mind sharing though if there is something much cheaper and I won't be all alone.other options I had looked at are extended stay apartments, you can look up Crossland economy studios in Lawrenceville.

Hi Genomi, am new on here, I sent you a pm though you responded I couldn't find my way around responding as well. Am due in april and intend using Dr. Soyooola at Gwinette, could you possibly send me contact details of the accomodation you got. Thanks a lot!

Trust me, Philadelphia is a no go POE for preggers too. Two of our old time mamas on this thread went through there and had stories that touch. The Officers in both places (Houston and Philly) were specially trained in witchcraft.

A friend just entered Philly yesterday for child delivery, she had her first child in the US and went with her receipts. They gave her a hell of problem coupled with her little child that was just crying and so tired. May God help us ooo.
