Hi, A relation of mine is interested in starting this watermelon business. But the problem is getting the land to farm. You all know the cost implication of getting land in Nigeria is very high And this business would need up to a hectare of land or what? Please reply. |

The holes on the polythene allows rainfall to enter. However, you can use a drip irrigation system to grow these crops. Actually the polythene conserves soil water and warms the soil! ntyce: |

Kalusam: Also read somewhere that it can kill nematodes and parasites due to the buildup of heat beneath the nylon. Where can one get the nylons or can one modify some of the bags being sold in the market? |

Juliana7: Turmeric comes from the root of curcuma longa plant and has a tough brown skin and a deep orange flesh. This herb has a peppery warm and bitter flavor and mild fragrance, slightly reminiscent of orange and ginger to which it is related. The rhizomes or under ground stem, have a rough segmented skin. The length of the main rhizome is approximately 2.5cm-7cm (1-3inches) in length, with a diameter of 2.5cm (1inch) with distinct nodes and smaller tubers branching off.
