Greek/Roman civilization tops them all that has influenced our world today .
The greeks yes gave us philosophy,art,music,play. The romans gave us western law,govt adminstration,engieering and more. But you see my dear friend that isn't all about civilization. What is civilization yes without morals and value for life ? ....forget ur technological devices and gadgets pls and wot we enjoy now if that is wot makes you a modern man . Man without morals is a BEAST.
Most ancient civilizations and even the one ur forebearers might hav descednded from all practiced " INFANTICIDE "-( murder of new born babies ),this was a practice in every ancient civilization, and why did they do such ? - to control population,sex selection,ridding the society of potentially weak ones,and those the gods say should be given to them . Aristotle once said..." there must be a law that no imperfect or maimed child should be brought up . And to avoid excess in population some children must be exposed. For a limit must be found to the population of the state " ...yes he wasn't sayin " I like killing babies ", he could b statin that overpopulation is dangerous. But it showed the easiest members of the society to get rid of are babies .

Today we can view killing new born infant as cruel . Ancient cultures did not value life ..pls note that !
Or is it human sacrifice ,most acient civilizations killed ppl as a form of worship. Greek/Romans did so infrequently. Some sacrificed their own children. Or is it the southern part of nigerian that twins are not allowed to exist ...only G-d nows for how long that had been in practice. Or is it in the new world 500yrs ago wen the spanish came, they found the Aztecs roughly about 6million with present mexico as their centre. They don't go to war with lethal weapons so they can take large nos of prisoners. They drag these prisoners to the top of their pyramids and rip out their hearts from their chest one aftr another. They ( aztecs ) believd the world will cease to exist if the bloodflow stopped.
Or is it Rome that took it to a whole new level. The colliseum till date is a wonder of Ancient civilisation, magnificient engineering ! It was the worlds first Astrodome,with a removable roof. The floor of the arena could be filled with water and a boat can sail through it . What was this edifice used for ? ...Virtually everyday of the year 50000ppl would come and sit for free. Meat aπϑ wine for free. Here the frst act of the day featured animals killing eachother. Upto 1000 animals fought at one time.the econd act involvd feeding ppl to this animals. The main event was the Gladiatoral combat. Emperor Trajan held a large tournamnt in which 10000 gladiators fought. Spectators witnessed a lot of deaths . Rome was considerd the most sophisticated civilization at that time mind you but yet barbaric ! Forget cultural aπϑ technological sophistication !

Value for life is one of the most important concept of the Jewish scriptures. The idea is clear and simple in the 6th commandmnt Exo 20:13 " thou shall not kill ..."
Jewish law prohibits infanticide,human sacrifice and killing for sport. The Torah tells us that all its laws can be violated, no expense or effort spared in order to save a life . This has been a guiding principle for the jewish ppl for close to 3800yrs ! The romans came and met the jews with the Torah . The birth of christianity and Islam spread the concept to about three qurter of the globe. The romans especially used christianty which has also helped to reduce and correct a lot of ancient views and practices worldwide ! Those who are more than you have tried to rid the values of the Torah and snuff out the jews but will continue to fail !

That singular act of Abraham has changed the world forever ! Even at a time when it was a norm to sacrifice.

Its only one who knows not where he is going to that will forget where he is coming out from or erase or then destroy the foundation that gave man sanity and corrected his views to the value life.

Ignore those who use religion to commit attrocities .

The world would never had been civil or sane without the truths of the Torah my friend .
