What value did Hon Patricia Etteh Bring the SW as Speaker?
What value did Dimeji Bankole bring the SW as Speaker?
What value did Austin Opara brought to Rivers State as Deputy Speaker?
Od what value was Sen Ibrahim Mantu to Plateau State when he was Deputy Senate President?
Of What value is David Mark to Benue State and Middle Belt as Senate President?
Tribalism will never produce good governance.
Anyway, if PDP like they should "Zone the Speakership to PEJ", they won't get it. They have to come to reality that it is not business as usual and the Reps is in APC's kitty.

Do those idiots understand the meaning of the separation of powers? What's the executive arm's business with choosing a leader of the legislative arm?

tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue In a true democracy it is not the President (a member of the executive arm of government) that determines who should be speaker (a legislative member of the house of representatives). Where is the separation of power principle? Besides if it were a party meeting the party by what ever their constitution says or by consensus (where the party constitution is silent) can zone the position of the speaker if one of theirs emerge (still subject to the vote by members of the lower chamber regardless of party affiliation).

cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool But as it is the House is yet to impeach the current speaker, he (the speaker) is still alive and earning his remuneration as a speaker and is yet to resign. The current speaker can only lose the representation of his constituency via elections or recall, as for his position as a speaker it is not vacant as of now and there is no court order ordering his removal or an in house election. The action of the acting inspector of police citing a section (leaning on his own interpretation) is unconstitutional without the judiciary, once again the executive arm is overstepping its bounds.

Of what benefit is the position of the speaker to the SW at this eleventh hour? When about 90% of the tenure has been used. SW deserves more than political crumbs.

Please tell us what SW deserves that is not political crumbs from Niger Delta oil revenue

Don't play with the North o. It is not politically "naive" like other regions in Nigeria. The north only believes in "na mu ne" (He is our own/person) and everybody will queue behind him and all that he stands for, not minding any other consideration (s).

The post of speaker of the house of rep was to be occupied by a member from the South West. It was for selfish interest that Tinubu and his collaborators from the North thwarted the arrangement.

We all know the post should not be occupied by Tambuwa right from the beginning. He is now leaving the post for the right owner.

Now how can he return all benefits to the right owner?

We don't want it! But don't worry your people can have that in 2015. The current arrangement is not going beyond Feb 2015. Whatever happens is going to be win-win for the SW. Wait and see!
Rexyl:

The post was to be occupied by a member from the South West, but because of selfish interests of some politicians from the zone, the arrangement was thrown away.

All eyes should now be on the SW to prove their strength or weakness once again.

You can predict but you cant know! Why will you willingly strip off your rights and think of having it back just cheaply like that. While you are doing that the people you were serving fully occupied all places. They engaged you in the deal of pull it down among yourselves.

Nigeria has six geopolitical zones and SW is not well represented from number one citizen to sixth position. Tambuwal caused the marginalisation, denied SW from the post of speaker, used inexperienced against the only woman from PDP representating SW in d house, I guess it is time SW

To me, the SW PDP leaders should demand for the seat of Senate President if they are really serious.
