I and my family arrived New York on the 10th of Oct. and moved to Virgina on the 14th, it has been a wonderful experience and I'm grateful to most of you.
My family is settling in so seamlessly, my kids are already asking me they hope we're not going back anytime soon and I totally understand their fears.... Life here is so good and organized and I think it's best for kids.
Most times the reward for the good works you do are what keeps you going even where others are failing.

I wish to keep in touch with most of you as I am already in talks with some groups in Atlanta, Houston, Virginia and New York to start working with Nigerians in the US who are interested in movie productions both as investors, behind the camera personnels and actors to see how they can be make a living out of it and still keep a regular job.
I intend to finally move to Atlanta, so will be going in search of a place to rent next month, any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Congratulations brother!!! go to the nearest SSN office and register for you and every member of your fam. It takes 5working days for your SSN to arrive in your mail after registration here in Chicago, I don't know of Virginia!

please i need help in understanding what might be wrong with my DV lottery visa application at the embassy in yaounde. I was interviewed on the 16th of September 2014 and the consular officer told me at the end of my interview that my visa has been approved and he gave me a yellow paper to come on the 9th of Oct 2014 at 3PM tp pick up my visa. I was at the embassy on the 9th of Otober and while the names were being read for pick ups, i did not hear name, no further information was given to those of us who didnt hear our names as when next we should call at the embassy or what to do. Curiously, I called the embassy on the 15th of October to find out about my visa, I was asked my case number which i gave and i was asked to come back on the 22/10/14 for a final decision. I told the lady that i do not understand what she meant by ''final decision'' because the consular officer already informed me during my interview that my visa has been approved so what final decision could she mean this time but she insisted that i come back to the embassy for a final decision on the 22/10/14



I just wish to find out if there could be a problem with my visa considering that people who were interviewed with me on the same day received their visas on the 9th of October 2014.

Yes you can track it. After making your payment for the green card, you can start checking by logging into https://elis.uscis.dhs.gov . It will be displaying "Your application/petition has been accepted and is pending review" some days after your payment. Later it will "change to card produced". You will get your card within 3 days of seeing card produced.

This is arhayjay (now Zeal2know), how's 'settling in' in our various new states and preparation to leave nigeria for those who are still at home.

The weather is getting cold in most places so be prepared, we all should keep ourselves warm as the Winter season would be new to a lot of us (ki Olorun je ki o barawa mu o- some1 shld please translate in English).

For those in houston, I found out that the IBC Bank recruits twice monthly and they employ even 'new comers', they'll train u for about 6 weeks so u'll b well equipped to work for them BUT the pay isnt attractive at all! (check www.glassdoor.com for salary range), the good thing though is that they'll give you a chance and it's a start! Take your resume to their HO at 5615 Kirby Drive, Houston TX and ask for Shayla White or to any of their branches around you and ask for the branch manager.

Let's try to help ourselves in whatever way we can! May God be with us all! God bless Nigeria! God bless America!

I can be a good resource as well. The way God settled me is unbelievable. Upon arrival my family and I moved into our house,My kids resumed school the next week,all our documents came to our address in 2/3weeks i.e SSN and green card. Got a solid SUV in the 4th week. I have brilliant ideas on how we can make our sojourn here a pleasant one and I am sure most of us have great ideas too. With God, there will be ways and better ways. Infact I am a testimony to that. So lets make ourselves a resource to one another and God will take us to greater heights. Where most Americans have failed,we will super succeed. Amen. To everyone I say thank you and God bless.
