The country is moving to a state of chaos... I use to wonder if some folks have brains at all... How on earth do u roll out drums celebrating exploitation of the highest order on the poor masses... New plate and driver licence when the one in vogue is not faulty This government called Federal Republic of Nigeria is sick and it is only mass action that can call it to order...

I am just thinking that if I change to this new plate number, dem no born the police officers wey go form checkpoint asking "oga anything for us".

"No, nothing for you, you bastard!"

Soooo, after I have spent to get my new license, spent to get my new plates, even spent to get a fire extinguisher that God knows I may never use, these officers would still want bribe?

Means I gotta park my car now for a few weeks, cause that plate number money is nowhere in my months budget.

As someone on this thread asked, what is the use of the new number?

If you have a database setup, you can still input the current numbers in the system to match drivers details (License no, Home Address, Office Address,...). What really is the use of this new number, someone please explain it to me!

You may right though but trust me nigerians are the most funny people on earth who celebrates anything that makes their brothers in power happy.

Stella oduah was celebrated in igboland, alamaseigha was defended and celebrated in bayelsa and ibori was called a victim by some folks in delta.

We are a peculiar people my brother. Suffering and smiling fela called us. Most are happy becos it means more money for the government .
You forgot to add Sanusi after all his reckless spending as CBN gov was crown Emir. Also Bode Judge of all thief

Sincerely, I wonder how people feel driving a porsche car with an old plate number. Most car owners I know willingly changed their plate numbers not because they could afford it or in obedience to the law, but mostly because they didn't want to feel like old school and more so, the fact that the registration number is tied to your name for life just like ur mobile phone numbers.
I think there's a bit of SWAG in that.

Bro, Amen, God will surely help the poor, in fact, help all of us (abi you no need God's help?)
However, anyone that can afford and maintains a car in Nigeria should not be categorised in the "poor masses".

Who needs the new number?
Will that reduce the accidents on Nigerian roads?
The FRSC should face the most important task, to make the roads safe for the users.
There should be monthly road safety outreach programs at all motor parks in Nigeria and the sale of liqueur should be banned at all the motor parks and drivers who cannot read and write in English should not even be given drivers license.
Road Safety education should be taught from primary school and road safety adverts should be shown on TV every hour and as regular public service announcements on radio and TV.

The fact that there thousands of drivers who cannot read and write in English on Nigerian roads is enough proof of the corruption and incompetence of the FRSC in Nigeria.

This is one of the most stupid judgment I have seen in life. Why should these jobless FRSC come up with silly things at all times to oppress the masses. They will formulate one silly thing and start enforcing it. What happened to the old plate number and License they sold us some years back. Only to forge new ones and hype the price. If the old one you printed is bad, why not recall it at no cost and issue new ones to new cars. Judges have lost their substance just pursuing shadows. Am sorry for any useless FRSC that will stand my way on the high way. His family will regret having him.

Mind you the value of some cars are less than the cost of the over priced plate numbers. Some poor homes use these rickety cars to fend for their families

When the government tries to force down an unnecessary plate number changeon the populace without any clear justification and some people are celebrating it. It shows the level of sycopancy this government enjoys.

Can someone please tell me the last time plate number change was effected in the uk or the usa? Nigerians are truly their own albatross celebrating a clear rip up as a victory.
bro u think Nigerian citizens care? Nigeria citizens love evil more than devil.

Useless country. When mariam babangida carried out her own madness,it was aimed at presenting Niger state as "Born to rule" now i just wonder the motive behind this nonsense.

Anyways, pending when i have the money to waste on this nonsense,i dare any FRSC officer to block me on the high way and if they stop me on the as a result of traffic jam,i will slug it out wth them big time.

Useless government.

Seems you are missing the koko of the matter, judgment was in favour of FRSC meaning motorists with old number plates will have to comply or be arrested.

I was also wondering what the hell is wrong with the man you corrected. There is nothing you cannot find in this forum. Most members are updown. That is why one comes across most rubbish posts.

No SWAG in exploitation, pulheeze. Why force us to change to new number plates? If there is any upgrading, FRSC should recall the old plates in exchange for new ones at NO COST. Not only is the new plate expensive, just like the Nigerian passport, if you want it on time, you have to rub palms!

My car carries the new number plate because it's a recent purchase, but my husband's car(not old school ride o) and the family van still carry the old. We will be forced to change if the judgement stays because we Nigerians don't have the nerve to fight the system. Very sad.
