Nice thread. As a kid, funny enough i never followed her to do her market runs. The market was to chocked with people. But the after shopping runs in the kitchen was my nightmare. You go work tire.lol. But as i became a teenager, market became a must go and men it was 'waka-about'. My mum is a shopper 4 real. She shopped for what is needed at home 4 the month. Now as an adult, shopping is fun. But then was a nightmare.

Finally she came back and asked the woman for her last price the lady said 18,000 and finally I don't know how o mumcy bought that thing for 5,000 the shop owner was even crying that she had not sold it since she bought it. One day I went to a super market and spent about 50 mins in the perfume section sampling everything in sight. My companion mumbled, grumbled, fidgeted and nearly wept but I ignored him. Nothing can separate me from my shopping. I must get the best quality and price, darn it!

Lol Goodluck jare plenty power,funny enough i get better deals than my constantly bargaining sister my chicken is always bigger. One good thing with hausa traders is once you show them some trust they will hardly cheat you, infact if your money is short they will tell you to take and pay,whenever you come to the market even if they dont know you

I mostly buy in bulk at karimu market, there things are already mega cheap, a basket of orange can go for as low as 200 pr 300, a bunch of big snails goes for 800- 1000 how much i wan prize am down again? For small shopping for fresh items i mostly go after work so i no get power. You wont catch me in the market on saturday, too busy playing doctor and patient with oga, i no leave that one enter sun go dey tear eye lol

I served in Ebonyi state and the language wasn't a barrier. Even females envied my shopping skills it became embarrassing, they started calling me Nnewi man while stylishly asking when I'd go to the market again.

My grandmum had a provision store and it was a large family so you can imagine what shopping would have been like. Hell. However, the promise of steaming hot Iyana-Isolo puff puff was enough to make me want to go through hell voluntarily and she could haggle. Many times I was scared for our safety, even that young I knew her tactics were infuriating. They argue for minutes on one price and soon as the seller agreed she'd promptly ask for a lower price. I truly felt we would be beaten one day . The only thing I don't buy is beef because I don't eat it. But don't mess with my ogufe-haggling game.
