microbiology in unizik is a normal thing every year,they produce like 2-4 1st class graduates yearly.. I thought u would include unizik mech. engineerng and Pol. Science.

I tell you most solemnly, it only discourages aspiring students or undergraduates, imagine what an aspiring student would start thinking should he read these st.upid posts and threads-that no matter how hard he studies or works, he might never make a first class honours, that mindset I tell you, would discourage him and might make him settle for average since hardwork won't pay off. Sick set of Nigerians!!!

There is no way the list can be complete without UNILORIN on it, the lecturers even boast in class with statements like "the last time we produced a first class student in this faculty was in 1977". A lecturer once told me in class that "only God could score an A in his course"

I soo disagree with UNIBADAN on this list... That school places priority on its students' good performance and it produces first class students regularly

Take it or leave it, this guy is very correct. UI is the easiest school to make a first class among the public schools in Nigeria (if you are worth it). The school is very organized and lecturers encourage students to make a first class. You get what you deserve. Others schools should emulate them on this.

All dis one is possible in faculties like science.Port go Bus Admin,banking/finance,accounting and have peace of mind.Majority of lecturers in science/their Secretary are either deeper life,redeemed goers.Those peeps nah eru jeje,dey aren't father xmas when it comes to marking script,not even given u jara like 3(let my people go thing)

Op, I served in Uniben and from my experience there, I know that any serious student can easily make a first class from that over hyped university. Their grading pattern is such that even a student with the lowest CGPA up to 300 level can still graduate with a 2-1.
What they do is that they take smaller fraction of a student's GPA at lower levels and larger fraction at higher level to calculate the CGPA. What this means is that a student on a CGPA of of 3.0 at 300 level could still make a 2-1 by just hitting a GPA of @ most 4.0 in final year for a 4 years course. While in UNIJOS where I finished from, a CGPA of 3.0 in 300 level means bye bye to 2-1 no matter how well a student performs in 400 level. This is because every level contributes equally and usually, number of courses offered per level decreases with increasing levels. So, if a student offered like 20 courses in 100 level and made a GPA of 2.0, but offered 10courses in 200 level and made a GPA of 4.0, he would only have added a little point to his CGPA at 200 level.
I am sure the same system used in Uniben still applies in some of the other schools you listed.
So, next time do your research well before coming up with such opinion, because once you post it on a public platform like this, it is capable of misleading some people.

In my opinion, it is much easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for students to make first class in these institutions:

1. Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA)
2. University of Ibadan (UI)
3. Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)
4. University of Benin (UNIBEN)
