Usually, confidence is a function of the measure of the believe u av in urself. Never see urself as someone who needs their help...see things like u're gonna be doing them a favour by fixing up in their staff crew! #Remember: U cannot be Loaded and not be Needed

One word "Practice"

I can't over emphasize how important that single word is.

Here are some pointers that might help:
1) Make sure you are sat in a comfortable position
2) Drink some water before the start of the interview
3) Write down the questions as you are being asked. (This will hopefully help you remember your prepared answers)
4) Make eye contact
5) Don't talk too fast
6) Enjoy the interview

Just like several people have adviced,confidence is d most important thing,when ur interviewer sees ur level of confidence,ur interview will be more or less like a chat.

I was told to change number 10 to 9 without cancelling in d last interview I went for,though I was smilling with the pen in my hands,I couldn't get it because of tension at that time,it was inside a cab,while trying to figure it out that I realized what I could av done.

Be bold and confident,google the company ur going for and try to read thru questions u'll be asked concerning d position ur applying for....Goodluck.

Confidence is very important but how do you get the confidence. Firstly you don't over think/worry. It's JUST an interview, the world will not end if you don't get the job, so go there with the attitude of I'll do my best and if it does not work so be it. As others have said the people interviewing you are human beings who also went through the interview stage at some point, you may even be more intelligent then them, so have NO fear, believe in yourself, draw strength from all you've been through, the exams you've passed etc. When you are in the interview always maintain eye contact with the people interviewing you, make sure your answers are to the point. In summary prepare, believe in yourself and have faith and you'll be fine

I'll add that it'll also depend on the type of job you are going to be interviewed for. You may or may not need so much confidence. Just be yourself. Talk when you are ask to talk and don't talk much. Talk precise and straight to the point. Anything you don't know, tell them you don't. Try to be a bit humorous if you can so that you can pull off some fears. Look at anybody asking you question at a time eyeball to eyeball and also do same while giving your answers. You can intimidate them as well. Finally, make sure you dress well. That alone can give you some confidence.

Im not shy bruv, im afraid, fearful, nervous, panicky, agitated, alarmed, worried, intimidated. NOT SHY.

Dress well, it adds to your confidence. Make sure you eat something cos u may be delayed intentionally or otherwise than you expected. Arrange a friend to ask you the likely questions the interviewers may ask you and provide answers. Where u have no friend(s) around to help you out, be your interviewers and provide answers b4 the day. research about the organization/company, it adds to your confidence. Have it in mind that if you are not engage that's not the end of the world.

Interviewers are Human, as a matter of fact they want to HIRE you. You dont need anything Extra.

Just go to Interview venues as you. Be yourself.

Not every graduate is suitable for every Company. What Nestle, Shell, NBC and KPMG needs in their staffs are uniquely different.
What I'm I trying to say?
Oando might find you "not" suitable and NLNG might just describe you as their "Perfect" candidate.

Key word here is[b] Preparation[/b].

When you are prepared you have the confidence to answer questions, also ensure you practice by getting someone conduct mock interview for you. That way you can improve on your presentation and confidence over time.

These are the things to do:

1. just see yourself as better than all the interviewers. Most of them are dullards that do not know anything, but can only intimidate job seekers during interview.

2. Do not see it as a do or die affair. If it works fine; if it does not, life goes on.

3. Ensure you look straight into the eyes of the interviewer( very important)

4. Put up a smile and ensure you do not get overwhelmed with fear. They would not kill you.

If you meet a white man, he would even make the situation less tense or serious by offering you water or tea; but the stupid nigerian interviewer would look so mean just to scare you

Lol.........I can't stop laughing. Are you really serious or joking? Maybe it's should be used if your are interviewed on bodyguard role, I guess.

Some practical tips we give:
- as u enter n sit down, take some deep breaths to calm yr nerves. Sit upright, don't slouch on d chair, keep yr hands off d table
- scan d faces of d panel (interviewers)
- listen carefully to d question u are being asked......look directly at d person asking d questions
- don't rush to answer.....think of yr answer before replying (except its a straight forward question)
- answer only d question put to u, don't be verbose
- for self confidence, maintain eye contact. When u feel flustered, don't fidget or bow yr head....u may lower yr gaze but keep yr head up at all times.

Above all, start practicing your composure now.....Use yr mirror n family members or friends. By d time u get an interview, u would have mastered what works for u. I wish u good luck.
