You just summarised his post

Even for an African man than I am , this is utterly ridiculous and way too much a set of rules to keep a man happy. Like she got to have/do all these? cool keep it simple, respect a man and he'd love you!

You really think u have all the answers don't you? I will just repeat your quote

If you know you know, if you don't, keep living.

Like Kanye said, "Sway, you ain't got the answers!" grin I don't have the answers but I know I'll always be in-charge between the sheets. I'm very competitive, hence I did a lot of sports growing up. Played with all my heart, and had all kinds of injuries. I'll compete with everything I've got - that's just me. So, it's always difficult for a normal chic to out-compete me.

But if you're a ny.mpho - then I won't even bother. grin

And this everlasting epistle just to satisfy and keep an African man?. You are either A very weird individual or your heart has been shattered beyond repair by a very wicked woman.(NO offence). You could have just summarised these in two or three sentences instead of making it look like a whole day job. Love and respect should be the burning fuel of every relationship. I fear who no fear you o!

Its not even laying down rules, dude was just giving a well meaning advice. Its left for you to take it or leave it.

And enough of all this Black/African feminist crap, y'all don't even believe in it other than to put it up as some sort of self defence. Go have a chat with your mums or grandmas to learn how to be an african woman that's if they haven't been fed the same dogma in their adulthood.

Hummm...As long as the list is,most men still expect their wives to meet up with all and if one is omitted, the home will be set on fire for all they care. In this age for God's sake!!!

You'll see them attending church crusades.

When I was still working in PH, I had a horrible experience where I dropped from a cab and it was raining heavily, decided to run and stay off rain in a church close to Ada-George roundabout. I ran into the church and to my greatest surprise it was all filled with ladies hungry for men all dressed in white(not white garment church), I guess its a symbol of faith to get married soon.

I stayed and picked a sit at the back close to the usher, you need to see how they were praying like they got life threatening disease.

I know a lot of them towed the part of rubbish feminism and are looking for men that will be their slave.

I wasn't suprised when my Boss asked if I could come to the house for dinner as they were hosting her daughter who just graduated from the UK. Got to the house and saw something close to a grandma, you need to see the sagged big breast and all the smoking shii, tattoo all over. Left the house after the meal.

Got to work the next day and she asked me what do I think of her daughter. I said nothing. Spent a few weekends there and found out she can't even cook nor clean the house.

For my mind, this woman wants me to reason that chimp? Hell no.

I tell ya!! The shi*t being spewed here by some of these chics doesn't reflect the reality in the real world.

African women are desperately searching for husbands, once they start approaching 30, they go into crises mode, jumping from one spiritual house to the other, fasting & praying for weeks un-ending

I've been invited to a singles night before in Redeem church, damn!! I can authoritatively say that is the only social gathering I see females outnumber males.

best post so far. Chai

Why are you sooooo concerned about their praying to God for husbands? you think God doesnt answer prayers while you are here mocking them? what are you waiting for? can't you marry them? why are you drinking panadol over another man's headache? you yourself be better husband? do you also deserve a good wife?? this your list will even chase a good wife away because it reeks of low self esteem and she will be sooooo scared to near you. The list is too mechanical and rigid. No fun, no understanding. Is this what u have in store for ur wife? any man who depends on a woman to feel good about himself has a lot of work to do on himself. So guy, go and look at that mirror near you and check yourself veeeeery welll. You have a huuuuuge problem. dnt carry this your problem give your poor wife oooooo. See List!! Haba!. you wan kill person daughter because say you get blockos? sofri sofri o. Life aint that serious oooo. I am soooo glad other men do not reason like you.

Who told you African men don't leave their rich abusive spouses? You mean the same African men with all kinds of mistresses everywhere, induced by their wives' wealth? grin Keep fooling yaself - they suck the peeps and leave her and dry, in her expired state. Don't mess with an African man! grin
Nah, when women start inviting you to singles' nights, almost seducing you on the road and telling you about their single status. Then it evidently shows it's more than the ministry. And they're desperate to mingle. Even when you go to those singles' nights, the overwhelming majority of people there are always women. Why so? Yet a lot of these folks come on here to preach feminism, and how women should be belligerent, while they suffer in silence. Heck, some even lie about being happily married, when they're desperately searching for a partner. Then you have got the ones who are more or less slaves to their husbands, but are always the loudest ones on here. grin
I don't have a problem with a partner doing wifely duties. However, if that's not ya status and you're just a fling. You need to maintain that status and stop forcing yourself on the guy. Give him space to breathe, and be patient. With time, he might consider you. But when you start acting like the wife, when you're not even his official partner - then that's problematic.

@ bolded now that is desperation.

Even when its not a singles nights the overwhelming majority of people in a church are always women why?

Maybe if you explain to the flings that they just that they will behave.

Well by the time the bad african man is leaving the expired woman he has done his sperm donor and father figure duties don't be suprised she needs a new sugar boy sef. Its not only men that get done with women, women get done with men and are happy when they have their freedom too afte rall she has worn the mrs title, has kids with a known dada within matrimony so all her check lists are ticked now she can go back to being senior mummy without answering to any man. Don't mess with African women.

Personally, I think the Emeritus Prof is basically trying to save black family, but talking about that missing link that has destroyed black families - esp with single mums everywhere. Yes, it is difficult to adhere to everything but there a few things in that post every black woman needs in her life.

See my thoughts below :-

Black people are the same as other folks, just cultural differences. Black women have always worked outside the home and earned money, my illiterate grandmother had her own shop and was involved in the shea butter trade. But black people keep making the same socio-economic mistakes everywhere we go. If we had more black owned businesses employing our own people there would be less underemployment amongst the menfolk. We keep making the mistake of figting for equality with white folk instead of building up our communities. Hope I'm making sense. Look at the Asian community, they tend to run family businesses no matter how small (we even by our foodstuff from them)which give them family flexibility instead of running round trying to do 9-5 or shift work.

I saw ya post one time and you alluded to being from Ibadan. I'd wager that Ibadan women are the most cultured and traditional Yoruba women out there. My mum was born and raised there and, Egbagirl, MsNas, and Missy89 (though she is acting belligerent now lol) are three other ones I know on this forum who are decent.

I'm not from Ibadan, ara-oko ni mi o, village person from Iseyin area so I've experinced old skool lifestyle of fetching water, grinding tomatoes on stone, cooking with firewood, sleeping in mud house ati be be lo.

Please, apologise to the Prof., he means well.

Eh, no cool kiss

This are tips to remaining single, and you can agree that the number of men remaining single even in their 40s in Africa is increasing at an alarming rate. No one wants to be in a relationship with someone who makes it seem like loving them is a full time job. The only rule there is to love is, "treat others the way you would want to be treated in return" simple!

if u need someone else to keep u happy then u clearly have insecurity problems. Happiness and satisfaction are things that come from within, if u cannot find them in yourself best believe me you will not find them in someone else.
Re: Tips To Keeping A Good African Man by Williamso(m): 4:20pm On Nov 04, 2014
At the risk of pissing off some people, I really don't know why a person (male/female) will deem it necessary to dominate someone (s)he claims to love. I find it rather ironic.

Marriage is not for everyone, so I wouldn't castigate a 40 year old single person, after all, a perfect relationship does not equate a perfect life, and I believe that's what we should all strive for.

@op, if I get a woman exactly as your post, I will dump her sorry a5.5... I NEED A WIFE, NOT A MAID!!!

Hahahahahahahahha.

The Op described the african man as a Baby with diapers whose sh1t must be cleaned 24/7. And yet he is the head of the home. Automatically, a woman should be a baby doll to keep this sort of man. When we say nairaland has a lot of funny creatures, they think we are just talking for nothing. Where is that guy that was doubting me in the African woman〓 suffering thread?

Defense against what?

Some of it actually contains good tips (many of which were common sense). The rest/most read like mindless babble. Digesting the post yielded moments of agreement, disagreement, incredulity, and shocked amusement. However, by the time I was skimming through the comments, I had room for but one sentiment: the ever potent feeling of gratitude.

Crowd/mob mentality - one attacks, the rest follow.

On here, most are all about fronting 'girl-power' and 'sistas before misters', but in the real world they can hardly stand themselves - constantly nitpicking, competing, and tearing each other down.

Bruv, I met them all the time especially on Saturdays, at the town centre. There was actually one that's attractive as fvck getting too close one time, and was rubbing all her big t.its on my body lol. I actually did talk to her a few times but I had to fall back cos she is like 33. Too old for me. And you don't wanna fall in their trap lool.

You need to hear barber shop stories, fam. There was one time two of them were fighting over a married guy at a naij restaurant. And they both know this uncle is married lol. The guy just left them there lol.

Hahaha you should have at least smashed her, before taking flight grin

Of course!! Barbershops are the number one grapevine spots, I feel for these women at times, some don't even get any form of male attention, it's really bad for them out here.

I can bet NONE of them even read what ilekokonit wrote before proceeding with the bashing and insults! It was a well composed and complete article!

Well spotted.

The article was COMPLETELY devoid of any malice but in true 21st century women fashion, speak at 1000 miles an hour at a man and disregard any thing he says as men have no sense. Innit

Reminds me of a 15 year old Turkish boy new to England 3 years ago telling me at his dad's fish and chip shop that he has studied england very well in his short stay and has come to the realisation that the pecking order in the UK is :-

Children at the Top,
Women next,
Cats, Dogs and other pets next
AND
Men at the bottom of the pecking order.

And this OBSERVANT 15 yr old TURKISH BOY is not even married yet although the good thing is that their women by and large remain loyal just like the chinese, indian and pakistani women.

In fact in a lot of asian homes, speaking english stops for the kids once they come back through the front door from school. It becomes punjabi or gujurati galore as they not only DON'T watch mainstream TV but Asian language channels but they for the most part don't use main stream child minders and instead import a granny from asia to look after their kids thus ensuring their kids are extremely fluent in the asian language even though he or she has never stepped out of the UK.

But with our own naija women. Na lie o. I even know someone who told her husband to turn off Sunny Ade music in his car so that their kids English will not become unsound. Their stock in trade is to dial 999 to call the police instead of dealing with unavoidable rocky patches in their marriages.

A case that exposes the wickedness of some "Westernised Naija Women" is that where the Husband was killed by a Lorry on the expressway after the wife refused to continue the journey to Heathrow airport and the man running late for his flight got out of the car to flag down a lift only to get run over and killed by a lorry !!!

All because of an argument with a troublesome wife over a bloody debit card !!!

The bit that took the biscuit for me was that the woman not knowing she had just hounded her husband to death but feeling the left over momentum of the Lorry hit her parked car, she told officers that :- 'I got out the car and at first I was angry because he didn’t come running over to see if I was okay,' she said. 'I initially couldn’t see him anywhere.'

What the heck !!! You have just hounded your husband to death and one of your first thoughts is that he didn’t come running over to see if you were okay !!!

Who the hell do these UK Nigerian women think they are that they expect their men to come running at their beck and call Lord have mercy !!!

https://www.nairaland.com/1533873/nigerian-killed-lorry-after-storming/2

UK is a country where you can rape your own wife - the definition of rape being that an act that started by mutual consent BETWEEN HUSBAND & WIFE suddenly turns to rape if the wife says get up and the man says let me finish and from that point onwards it becomes rape and the HUSBAND will be sent to prison for 8 years !!!

Another case is that of the 21 yr old Nigerian Biochemistry student who stabbed his 44 year old "single Mum" to death in the UK last year.

It later came out that the womans husband - the boys Dad who initially brought the woman from Nigeria years ago has been an in/out resident of psychiatric hospitals for the past 10 years and he currently lives in a psychiatric home.

And the single mum carried on as normal instead of trying to find a way to set the man (her benefactor) free from the clutches of the UK Mental health system. (in the UK, if a wife says she doesn't feel it is safe for her husband to be discharged, the man will remain in the Psychitric care until she says its ok?

What happened to In Sickness and in Health or she wasn't listening to that part on her wedding day

Now the woman who is a Nurse felt free enjoying her life of being a single parent with the attendant single parent money the govt gives to single mothers and all she can think of whilst her husband / benefactor is caged in a Psychiatric hospital is to gallivant to parties in gaily attire and splash photographs of herself all dressed up on the internet forgetting that what goes around comes around and there is something called the law of retributive justice.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-27047642

Look critically before you leap into marriage. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread !!!

The rules of 21st Century marriages have changed and no one informed the men !!!

The wedding day is a 100 metre dash but the marriage proper is a marathon.

Marriage does not come with a user manual, so if you find someone giving you good FREE advice about marriage, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

You just might need to come back to this post to study it in future. !!!!

And before you start saying marital strife is not my portion, think of Pastor Chris 1 and Pastor Chris 2, Benny hinn, Eddy Long and even Alvin Slaughter, do you think these people planned for their marriages to fail or flounder ??

Nobody has a monopoly of wisdom as we are all here to learn distinct and unique things from one another.
