As Nigeria burns and the current NSA and Defence Minister do nothing to show their effort. It is time for Jonathan to re-jig his cabinet.

The President needs security advisers he can trust. I dont believe Gusau is trustworthy. The way violence has hightened and the suggestion in the media today that Gusau is to be selected as VP definitely did not come out of the blues. Gusau is a willy old fox and all he does in his life is scheming. It is time to show Gusau the door and employ the services of a true professional soldier.

Nigeria needs the experience of General Martin Luthar Agwai to "help of us find peace". I choose these words carefully because when Martin was appointed the UN Force Commander in Dafur those were his exact words! - Hear him

His soldiers will be able to use force to save lives - unlike the current African Union observers - but according to the general, they are not coming to Darfur to fight for peace.

"We are not here to conquer anybody," he says.

"We are not here to compel any peace. We are here to work with the Sudanese people - both the government and the parties to assist them to find peace. We are not here to impose peace. We are not here to fight anybody."

well Dafur managed to negotiate a 2 state solution eventually. The arrangement is not perfect but there is a Southern Sudan living in relative peace at this moment.

It is time to call on the experience of Gen Martin Luthar Agwai. With his experience as Nigeria COAS, CDS and UN Force Commander in Sierre Leone and Sudan I think he has the war time knowledge to be a more constructive National Security Adviser than the current Sambo Dasuki.

Dasuki can be moved to Defence Ministry as the Minister while Gusau is sacked!

Dasuki should be given the mandate to ensure regular briefings of the public on Government efforts to tackle Boko Haram. He can do this alongside the Military spokesman.

At the moment it just feels like a reasonable percentage of Nigeria is being covetted by Boko haram and government is not responding enough!

@op Chairman strategist!!!! At the moment the only position in the helms of national security not changed is that of the president. The chiefs were shuffled,minister of defence,NSA etc That apart nah DSS remain ! So if things have changed under him and the impact is not felt then I should point finger to the main mobilizer. Moreover if you most be honest,no one force the candidates on him for nomination. He most have seen something worth using in tackling the insecurity challenges to have hired them. This man has selected and fired at will. His kinsman and people from the other divide.
If you like bring Tsun Tzu, if the man is not empowered or given the right mandate , it will result in zero. You folks keep trying to find excuses and scape goats as excuse for failure. If I may ask how many times did BH change leadership? Yet they keep derailing our military.

lol How can you call Sambo Dasuki competent when it is under his watch that North East is being taken over?
He has not done anything in the last few weeks and if Dasuki's advise are not being adhered to there is something called to resign!

Aliyu Gusau is Aliyu Gusau. Only God knows who that one works for?

In terms of lack of political will. Well No President in the world likes to see his country unstable because when there is instability their position could be threatened. So Jonathan will like to see boko haram resolved! There may be a lack of political will on the part of a section of the country who think they might reap political benefit if the President is undermined.

But Again, Martin Luther Agwai is a true modern war-time General with experience of conflict resolution, peacemaking/peacekeeping and security policy formulation. He is probably the most qualified right now to be NSA so am not quite sure why you think he will flop?
