@Akanni...I sincerely do appreciate your response...phew..you just lifted a semi burden off me....

on the other hand is it advisable to apply alongside my application for my 25yr old nanny to come on board? maybe this will convince the VO that i will get the necessary help for the boys and study wont suffer...or am I just complicating things?

to be in a dilemma is bad mehn!!

Thanks a bunch

I guess I wasted my time calling to explain things yesterday. Its best u do what u want and wait for d outcome. If its works, we learn from it, if it doesn't, we will also learn from. And NO u can't apply with ur nanny cos I tried that option and was given a red card. Godd luck

yes, almost all the universities in Canada offering Medicine accepts international students and the good news is the programme is just for 4 years with 4months holiday each year or 3years without holidays, only sure of one school offering that, doubt if it's common, mostly are 4yrs bt the bad news is that you are expected to do 1st degree in a medical related course before applying, courses like Physiology, Anatomy, Microbiology, infact most biological science courses, You can check up the schools on www.aucc.ca.... hope this answers your question.

They do(I know there is an agreement in place with some nationals of some countries like UAE) but I would advise that you do not put all your eggs in one basket. Medicine and dentistry is very competitive. I have met a good number of Canadian nurses and those with biological sciences degrees that can't get admissions into Canadian university to study medical sciences due to limited seats. To them, it's like a camel passing through the eye of a needle. Most of them eventually travel to the Caribbean to study medicine and eventually become practicing Dr.'s in the US. Let your younger brother back up his application by applying to US and Caribbean universities that have partnership with American unis.

Do u mean his bro can be admitted to study medicine in the US without any first degree? Even with a first degree, the cash requirements and nationality issues are there.

sorry Mesh, didn't know you had spoken with her in details already. You know how we humans are, wanna hope against hope for things to work in our favour.I also applied for fall with my wife and son but was refused so I had to apply alone and got it.The plan is my family will join me once i settle in, will apply for them again and by then, my account should also be buoyant than before.Best advice, do it alone!

Its always best to invite them once u settle down. They can never refuse unless u dnt ve sufficient funds shown. I wrote in my SOP that my daughter will visit with her nanny and mum when am on break. If I want, my daughter and her nanny can stay back and my mum will leave. Everything depends on how d 1st semester goes. Am not jeopardizing my future cos of my daughter that will be well taken care of in naija. If I go with her, it will mean leaving her in d care of people I don't know and I will practically be in d library wit less attention to her

i agree completely with you, i had to try going with them at first due to pressure from my better half (grin) and after it was denied, she then understood why i asked i go alone first. Its all gud tho, they will come later definitely.Which province you in?I should be coming last week in December tho i have not decided on the school yet but i know by month end, will have a handle on which-Alberta or Manitoba
