You're focusing on his 1st degree whilst ignoring his other degrees + banking experience. Experience does matter my brother; that's the reason why they say it's the best teacher.

Learning is one thing, applying is another. It's not unusual to see those with a science background ease into commerce unlike the case would have been if it was the other way round. Nevertheless, whilst it's important that people are able to practise what they learned in school instead of the mad one-way rush for banks etc (as we have here presently), we need to reorientate the average Nigerian graduate not to limit their focus - expand your horizon. You will add value when you can apply knowledge you have gained into a particular process. The courses you enroll for only make you specialized so it's assumed you're good in that area, it doesn't limit you. That's why we have 'borrowed' courses in our curricula.

Knowledge is a continuum; learn here and there + be inquisitive in whatever 'sparks up your light'. The day you get to apply these "heres & theres", it'll only make you appear like a genius unbeknownst to others that na 1+1+1 make your 3 big

If a driver could bring huge deposit to the bank... he's more recognised dan a bsc waiting for free alert by 23rd of d month. So for chemist to become an MD is no a big deal. We've seen a manager dah owns an hospital, oil n gas n d likes.

In France, u can only become a bank MD if you studied banking.

I think the topic is a bit misleading, he didn't get the job based on his first degree but from his MBA in management coupled with his experience. But its a good motivation anyway.
