Is there any special precaution that must be taken in order to change the brake pad of an Hybrid car, Toyota camry 08 to be specific. Are the procedure defer from the conventional vehicle.

Thanks but this is for the normal 08 Camry not the hybrid or are they the same

The Hybrid Synergy Systems in Toyota and Lexus use a regenerative braking energy system. I believe its parts would be different from non hybrid vehicles of same models.

This is one of the many reasons I advocate against hybrids in Nigeria and other societies where the expertise, parts and/or finance are inadequate.

This is sienas speciality (hybrids) but what ever you do, do not open any of the bleed nipples.to be on the safe side dissconnect accessory battery b4 changing pads.

To change the brake pad on a hybrid do the following and you wont have any issues
1. Remove the 12 volts positive terminal,
2. Keep the key fob away from the car - the brake actuators will be initialized when it senses the fob
3. For extra protection remove the 2 ABS relays from the engine JB fuse box (fuse box under the hood)
