When Captain Sonogo took power in Mali, you went there too.
But when the rebels captured half the country, you hid deep in Lagos. Making excuses
Again going to Burkina Faso doesn't demonstrates continent leadership, as you're going there with other regional countries
Continent leadership was demonstrated by Jacob Zuma when he went to Libya in 2011, with a full blown civil war ongoing to represent the AU and talk to Muammar
Flying into a hot zone, with rebels in possession of anti-craft guns. Protected by "Recces"
i.diot boy.gadaffi was an ally of zuma,it didnt have anything to do with 'continental leadership'.he was chosen to represent the AU because of his ties to muammar gadaffi.the same reason why when the allied forces wanted to blow up gadaffi and his army into smithereens, zuma was against it,gadaffi helped in sponsoring zuma's election.so if jonathan had gone to libya, what would have happened?,they would have opened fire on him?,hahahaha...*i laugh in swahili*

Nigeria does not qualify to be on this thread. They have no military.

[size=16pt] # Show us a war South Africa has fought alone in the last 20 years with over 30,000 soldiers + tanks + artillery + jet fighters + helicopter gunships + ISTAR aircraft + logistics aircraft + armoured vehicles + IFV + all terrain armoured mechanized battalions all in a single war at the same time.

# South Africa has no military except in @THIZA's hollywood photos.

# South African military has not been tested in the capacity of big scale war mentioned above

# AU and UN does not recognize SANDF as a real military force and never allows you to lead any war or fight alone

# All we see is SANDF training photos firing weapons into empty bush and against sand/stones in open land with NO SINGLE ENEMY to reply them

# SANDF = Nigerian Police....SANDF can only point rifles at THIZA's photo camera and video cameramen at home, see photo below grin grin

Agubi at his usual dreams again. Nigeria designed weapons can never go past their borders.

We don't have enough for our 200,000 man armed forces, so why should we export?

Nigerian navy shipyard will be exporting both armoured and un-armoured gun boats made in Nigeria, after NNS Andoni II is launched, and Brazil is asking NAF to let then join us and share our Drone technology with them.

Nigeria is the first and only black nation to build drones on planet earth with 100% black brains

Didn't you read the words "Developed from"?

The Galil ARM was developed from the AK-47, does that make it an Russian weapons? NO!! It is an Israeli rifle.

The T-50 Golden Eagle is developed from the F-16 does that make it an American product? No.

The Saeqeh was developed from the F-5 does that make it an American product? No.

The GT4 76mm is a Denel gun. It was designed during the sanctions era, Italy have nothing to do with it.

The idea for its caliber is influenced by logistics, you wouldn't know that with your un-standardised army would you?

I have been keeping quiet about this 'standardized' army talk for months, but today I will answer you.

Will an army be able to k.ill if they have 5 different types of rifles ? Yes, they just need to put the bullet in the head of SANDF

You cannot standardize an army by restricting types of equipment, you will have an army with many weakpoints.

SANDF is so 'standardized' that your whole nation has no single all terrain tracked APC, no tracked IFV, no tracked tank destroyer, no tracked battle field ambulance, no all terrain tracked light tanks, NO SINGLE ALL TERRAIN TRACKED AIR DEFENCE SYSTEMS AND MISSILE LAUNCHER !!!

Nigeria has all these with our Styer APC, 4K Mortar carrier, Plamaria artillery, MT-LB multirole APC, Storm APC-ATGM launcher, Scorpion tanks, Roland SAMs.

South African army became a dry land only army with major weakness and ZERO ability to fight on all terrains of battlefields, that is standardization? No, that is the weakest army in Africa in all terrain warfare, stuck and helpless sitting duck SANDF in wetland war zone.

Also, South Africa has ZERO amphibious armoured vehicles that can cross rivers and lakes to go out-flank the enemy, Nigeria has has fully amphibious Cobra APC, VBL APC, Sagaie Tank Destroyers, and BTR-3U IFV etc.

What you call South African standardization is actually a proof that South African army is very far far far below Nigerian army standard.

SANDF will be 99% grounded and immobilized in an ALL TERRAIN battle theatre, your military will be wiped out by Nigeria !

Developed from Italian gun means Italy sold the technology wholesale to South Africa, and DENEL changed the colour and the name to fool people that it is South Africa.

The gun is naval, and cannot shoot straight on your Rooikat IFV, show us where Rooikat scored hit in a battle with it's inaccurate gun grin grin

Galil is Israeli made rifle, the technology was sold to South Africa wholesale, and to change name as usual and claim it is South African made, you changed the b.utt or stock and the maganize container to plastic and called it R4 rifle South African product, FRAUD !

"The weapon is a licenced variant of the Israeli Galil ARM assault rifle[4][5] with several modifications; notably, both the stock and magazine are now made of a high-strength polymer and the stock was lengthened, adapting the weapon for the average South African soldier."

OK, so a South African company has ties to european ones... nothing about importing european tech there only tractors and ploughs... do you thinkn data links are composed of data links and ploughs?

Also, in 2013 Swedish company SAAB was invited from Sweden to come and join Reutech and you imported engineers and equipment from Sweden then gave them South African names to steal glory from Sweden.

Citation? Proof?

SAAB-Grintek South Africa, well know SAAB is a Swedish company exporting equipment to Grintek Soweto.

Reutech is part of Reunart, and that is American/European company mix, they sent their white engineers in large numbers and equipment into South Africa to open a branch and sell shares of the company to you.

ALL WHAT SOUTH AFRICANS CALL LOCAL DEFENSE INDUSTRY BEST IN AFRICA, IS ACTUALLY SOUTH AFRICAN BRANCHES OF AMERICAN AND EUROPEAN COMPANIES ESTABLISHED IN YOUR COUNTRY WITH WHITE ENGINEERS AND EQUIPMENT IMPORTED FROM USA/EU/ISRAEL.

Prove it ! Show us source where Mokopa missile entered service with SAAF grin grin

"Mokopa is a heavy, long-range, precision-guided, anti-armour missile. Due to budgetary constraints, the SAAF decided to stop integrating the weapon onto the Rooivalk."

Now read news analysis reports on Mokopa missile from your own trusted South African source Defenceweb :

"It is not clear if the funds are still available and the Rooivalk is currently being operationalised with just its 20mm chin cannon and unguided rockets as armament.

Wessels adds the SAAF is interested in the system for Lynx “but want us to succeed somewhere else first”, as it does not have the cash on hand to pay for the integration costs. This is in line with comments made by SAAF chief Lieutenant General Carlo Gagiano on that subject."

South Africa CANNOT afford cash to buy it's own DENEL weapons, SANDF is broke....proved what we have been saying grin grin

"On the other hand, SAAF chief Lieutenant General Carlo Gagiano saw only limited short-term opportunity for Mokopa with the land services. “Most armies won't use it optimally, he noted. Land-to-land targeting at 5.5km, as with Ingwe, is already a very long range for target acquisition. You cant's see much further in the dust and glare of the battlefield. With Mokopa you go over-the-horison and then your communications and command-and-control has to be very advanced."

The whole 10km long range idea of Mokopa is actually a foolish project idea of Soweto mumus, it cannot work on battlefield, I have always said South African's noise about weapon range like artillery and etc in land battle is foolishness that will fail in battlefield realities, now South African air force chief of staff agrees with Agaugust grin grin

Denel a South African company is the Original equipment manufacture.

A country that completely copied the Super Puma, cannot build an attack helicopter own it's own.

This is a fact.

With the multiple failed bids, and that of turkey in particular, it is clear to every sane mind that Denel cannot claim to be the OEM.

The Turks a NATO member went on to license build the wonderful Italian T-129.

There is no point arguing with you. DENEL (state owned company) has the responsibility of developing arms for SANDF at a unit price as well as to international community. At peace times SANDF is obligated to pay for every service or weapon acquired from DENEL so that it should sustain its business and continue to pay its employees. During war, SANDF is empowered to use whatever weapon that DENEL has at no fee in order to defend the interest of the country.

SO BEWARE!!!

What DENEL has is what SA has.

You see the reason why I call you a fool. Mokopa has long been integrated into Rooivalk tested and fired. It was tested many times on Rooivalk starting from 1999 http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product869.html. It was specially designed for Rooivalk, but now can be launched from different platforms, Fighter jets, Vehicles and Ships or boats.

Do you think Denel is that stuppid? DENEL is committed to give SANDF training of any kind of weapon in their stock.

Nigeria has zero weapon in Ukraine. They are in war as current and very desperate for weapons, yet they cannot get their weapons in Ukraine. That's ironic!!

Funding for air force soars
Date: 1 March 2014
THE SA Air Force has been given a R342 million
boost over three years towards strengthening its
helicopter, transport and maritime capability.
According to Budget documents tabled this week,
the money was shifted from the Special Defence
Account because of “an increase in deployments
and presidential commitments”.
There was also a projected increase in spending
in the force employment programme for border
patrols, anti-piracy
operations and peacekeeping missions.
Defence analyst Helmoed-Romer Heitman said
some of the funds for the helicopter capability
related to the deployment of Rooivalk combat
helicopters to the DRC, where South Africa has
sent troops as part of a UN peacekeeping
mission.
“We’ve gone from having two Oryxes at Goma to
having three Rooivalke and five or six Oryxes.
They burn more fuel to get there, they burn hours,
which uses up consumables, and there’s
maintenance,” Heitman said.
It was also possible the military was finally
acquiring the Mokopa anti-tank missile for the Rooivalk

catfish like you,calling boko haram 'ragtag'.boko haram is a more deadlier force than the SANDF;
(i)it is well funded by both internal and international religious entities
(ii)BH fighters do not lack tents and they are perfectly capable of fueling their motorized infantry units
(iii)they coordinate and operate from fortresses and save havens e.g a vast and shallow horizon like sambisa forest is very hard to penetrate without encountering overwhelming firepower,a high hill like gwoza is difficult to lay seige on and they can easily shoot down aircrafts,a sloppy and rough terrain like mubi is difficult to assault as it is easy to set ambushes from different positions.
(iv)BH are heavily armed with tanks,anti-aircrafts,atillery,AAA rifles,rocket-launchers,bombs and IEDs.
(v)they are very mobile,as they have fleets of automobiles to move about in droves.
so,how are they ragtag?
